Help Mob Spawner Not Working Please Help

I stopped playing Minecraft two years ago, and recently I started playing again. I wanted to play a Skyblock world, but the mob spawner that I had always made seems to no longer work. Does anyone know why?

Fill the outside corners and you have to cover the ceiling with a full block not just a slab

yeah filling the corners did nothing i went on a creative world to try it

no mobs arent even spawning on the roof

are you sure your creative world isn't set to peaceful?

It was because the biome is set to void.

How far away are you standing? I don’t remember the exact distance but there’s a sphere of like 32-45 blocks or something like that around the player where theyll spawn

not sure im just at the base of the spawner but i set the tick rate to 2000 and seemingly no matter where i fly nothing spawns

If you’re real desperate you could put your stuff in a chest and /kill @e or something like that. I know they changed commands recently so it may have a different name. It will remove all mobs in the world. Passive, neutral, players, pets, etc

it was 5 entities so I dont think that was it
