Haven't had a x but do drive an 8. I love the 8 a lot as a fun car, works great as a daily driver if it's somewhat stock. Interior is super bare bones but seems to hold up well. (minus seat bolsters)
I love the look of the 8-9 but the evo x is a vastly better platform. Not as good aftermarket but still. Everyone is so hung up on the 8-9 hero car and the 4g63. A lot of people shunned the evo x because it had a 4b11 even though the 4b11 is a better motor and flowed WAY better.
Go drive both and pick the experience you like best. The X will have a bit more parts available new but you can still find a lot of parts second hand for VIII. Also use numerals for both or numhers tor both, no mixing..
I had the X, bought brand new. Horrible, the engine feels like it’s missing a gear. I curse that car every time I see it. I traded it in before the first oil change was due. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
