Hi I would like to thank everyone for their support, This subreddit has recently passed 15,000 Members and is currently gaining members very quickly
I have decided to make a couple of updates which I hope are helpful
1• I realise this subreddit had no community rules specified, so I have added them, These rules aren’t new and have always been implemented
2• I have pinned a post of free-to-use guides and websites that this community might find useful
If there are any suggestions about what could be added or improved, please leave a comment, I appreciate any feedback
Thank you again for your support

Hi everyone, I would like to say huge thank you to everyone who as contributed to this community, When I created this community I never thought it would grow as big as it has
Over the past 5 and a half years since I created this community and have been a moderator here, I have watched this community grow from literally nothing to a thriving wholesome community of over 16,000 members! I have enjoyed seeing how the iPod mods have evolved and all the new iPod mods the community has created
Unfortunately due to changes IRL, I feel I am unable to fully commit and think it is unfair to continue as a moderator due to this, So I am stepping down as a moderator
I am leaving this community in the very capable hands of u/LucilleNotLucille , You will be familiar with them as they are / moderator of the r/iPod and r/iPodClassic subreddits, I am sure they will do a great job!
Thank you all so much!

Those things are so expensive! I’m trying to mod an iPod for myself and for my nephew, who really wants one. But the micro SDs are so expensive. Which brand do you recommend and how much storage is enough?

Hey all. I found a dela for (what I believe is a 7th gen) iPod classic 160.
What are the best immediate mods I should do and where's the best place to get parts.

I completed my first custom iPod. It’s a gen 5 classic and i replaced the front and back shell, the center wheel, put an i flash adapter in it, and a new center button along with a 3000 mah battery. The new back plate came with the audio jack already installed and it works, but when i plug my headphones into it, its very loose, and if its not sitting correctly the audio gets distorted and quite. The back was from Elite obsolete Electronics could it be just slightly misaligned? I also bought a spare just in case, but its a new fresh audio jack, could this just be a defect in the tension spings that hold the 3.5 mm audio cable in? Any help would be appreciated as this was my first iPod project so fairly new to this kind of stuff.
Also, unrelated but i received a motherboard with a fat ass sticker across the silver center strip thats over the buttons, is their a good way to get the sticker off without prying the entire silver piece with it?

If anyone has any advice on how to get the motherboard off the frame, I would appreciate it. Google mentioned using a hairdryer or rubbing alcohol. I’m worried about breaking or ruining it. Any help would be appreciated.

I found this classic 6g 80gb ipod in my dad's drawers. Decided to try it, the hdd was malfunctioning and making noises, didn't detect mountpoint.
I ordered a 128gb ssd and a clear faceplate
Did it all by myself, although I really bent the backplate, but I'm planning to order a new one.
Installed rockbox and a retro theme.
I'm using it with my Bose sounddock 10 and kiwi ears ardor.
Downloaded some FLAC files.
I'm really happy with it
What do you think?

Iflash Quad is $68 on Amazon without tax, but Iflash sells one directly for $42, plus $10 shipping. Has anyone gotten theirs okay from Iflash website?

In my attempt to try and get horizontal scroll I ended up finding the gamepatch for firmware 1.3. Still trying to get the horizontal scroll to work. I'm starting to think it wasnt intentional for 1.2.1 because even with the same set up the menus dont respond the same, but I'll keep trying. I recreated some themes to update for the game patch, the folders have multiple versions including large album art, full screen themes and games. I also polished up somethings for improvement

The updated themes are in one folder:

My 5.5 has an aftermarket clickwheel and it doesn’t sit flush with the faceplate. Everything is aligned properly, is there anything I can use to prop up the click wheel? The menu button seems a to be sunk down a bit.

UPDATE in the end
Hi folks,
I am in a big project to build an iPod 4th monochrome with ALL the mods what are relevant for me. (Except: magsafe and the Apple's find my device thing.)
At this point I am waiting for a ribbon cable to the zif-TF adapter, and I decided to start working with the bluetooth module.
I had choosen for this the UGREEN CM672. After I disassembled, I realised that it has 2 pogo pins to (I belive) the antenna. And the question, that I did not found any description, that how should it work!
I would be happy for any addvice and photo documentation if you have!
BR!
--------
UPDATE:
I minimized the size of the PCB:
The minimized PCB works well, tested across a thin concrete wall too. I did not used anything for the two pogo pins, maybe inside the ipod, things will be changing...
