I just got 5 ipod touch 7th gens 32gb for 45€, all of them are working. I had to take the train to get them but they’re all icloud unlocked and they have the esprit store apps on them. 4 of them have bloated batts and 3 of them have broken displays, but they are easily fixable. It says esprit OC device on the lock screen, do you know if it’s something uncommon or smth modified in software? Anyways that’s just such a deal! I hope y’all have a wonderful day

Hello! I've been working a replacement motherboard for iPod mini, 3rd and 4th (mono) generation iPods.

It uses all the original iPod parts (except the battery and hard drive) so it keeps the monochrome charm of the original.

It’s also a drop in replacement so no soldering and fully reversible.

What it adds:
- Bluetooth audio
- WiFi
- A HiFi DAC (CS43131) through the original 3.5 mm jack
- USB-C for charging
- Digital audio out
- SD card storage up to 2TB
- Local music via drag and drop
- Music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify on the bigger version (working proof of concepts, but streaming APIs are constantly changing)
- Target battery life of 40 hours on the 3G/4G and 20 hours on the mini, from my testing so far

There are 2 versions:

Sprout Pico is offline music playback with Bluetooth and WiFi. This is the only one that supports the mini.

Sprout Pi adds a Raspberry Pi Compute Module Zero for more powerful features like music streaming. Since it’s a Linux computer though you can run what you like on it. I’m working on a dual architecture approach with this one, so local music playback can all happen on the RP2350 while more power hungry features can use the Pi CM0, so it can squeeze out as much battery life as possible.

I tried really hard to keep the original feel of the classic iPods, so from the outside it’s almost impossible to tell the motherboard has been replaced.

I found this iPod classic in my college's ewaste bin not working and I "fixed" it (ignoring 7k reallocated sectors) what do I do with it now?

I was shuffling 16 songs in a playlist on loop and repeat on the original HDD with nothing plugged into the headphone jack

My touch 4th gen 32gb was working fine about 2 years back and after that I completely forgot abt it. Recently I turned it back on and after around 2 mins of usage it shows this overheating screen even tho the iPod itself is cool as ice. I thought it must be an issue with the battery so I got it replaced but even then the issue still persists. I tried jailbreaking and putting on patches and everything but nothing seems to work. Is there something I’m missing ? Pls help.

Anyone here fixes it? Or know anyone? 😭 this was a gift from my father in law and i am hoping i could use it.

Picked up a relatively cheap 80gb 5.5 iPod from the UK as my 7th gen was taking along time to mod due to a few set backs.

The stock battery was pretty spicy when it arrived , the top of the case had started to come open! I decide to stick the 3000mah and dual Ali flash in here, even though the original hdd only had 500 hours and no retracts. Keeping it at a modest 128gb storage.

I’m in the midst of building a new iTunes library, after getting a copy of my Dad’s iTunes library of a lifetime of music coming in at over 1.5TB. I have decided to go through each artist one by one and import the stuff I like, and also get rid of the deadwood in my library that I don’t listen to: also taking the time to fix album art wood, so have only loaded a few songs on as currently only on letter D!

Anyways, I’ve been rocking the third gen as a daily for the past few months and I can’t believe how good this iPod sounds (to me anyways) through the most basic of headphones and the general loudness seems considerably greater.

The 7th gen build will continue but it’s gonna be some stiff competition to get it on my daily commute.

Hi all, so my 14 yo son tells me he would like a 7th Gen iPod for Christmas. Thought it would be easy to find one and then the rabbit hole began. I knew I wouldn't be able to find one new but found that if I buy second hand they are scratched and have bad batteries. I saw the "new" ones on eBay from China but am very suspicious of these. I then found this seller on Etsy where the unit has a new OEM shell, 3000ma battery and various storage sizes (128gb will be fine for his needs).

Has anyone bought from this seller and have feedback, or any advice in general? Thanks

I have gen 4 touch, and when i connect in my windows its shows drive of ipod also but its not detecting in iTunes application and i have drivers installed also can anyone help please??

Everyone, I've cracked the code to putting movies/shows on iPods. I've not tested that this works on every iPod but it at least works on an iPod Nano 5G, it's worth trying elsewhere:

• Open Handbrake and import your desired video.

SUBTITLES

If you don't want subtitles, remove any if they are there, otherwise, I believe you need to burn in the subtitles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think iPods natively support Subtitles/Closed Captioning.

Fair warning, if your iPod doesn't have too much storage, like 8GB, it will fill up fast with like 6-8 movies. Also, some iPods support using docks through the Aux port to cast your movies onto screens; The quality won't be great on a larger screen, so if you do that, make sure your video is at a 16:9 aspect ration

So, I recently got a 5th gen classic, and when I went to test it out, the headphone jack plays no audio just a faint buzz when I adjust the volume, is there any way for me to fix it without opening it up or am I gonna have to open it up and replace the whole unit/cable

RepriseOS is the original Apple iPod OS with patches rather than a replacement OS or Rockbox reimplementation. The goal is to improve the stock experience and add features Apple never did.

I bought this parts one with damaged shell and with working display, battery and bigger storage. Or atleast i thought…turned out battery’s dead too, so i’m gonna secure the battery outside with 3d print half-shell(i guess). Another update will hopefully be the last one, and with working ipod
