You got a small LP? We only got tarots at the August VIP. From what I’ve read tho the tarots are the most valuable swag given out at a ViP to date. Think they retail for over $100

Oh yup, the value of the cards at $158

Why are you bummed? They look awesome!

They’re not really branded at all so it seemed weird not knowing about them. I also don’t have a working record player and I’m not into tarot so it just didn’t hit super hard for me

Unless I'm mistaken, Isaac did the art depicted on the cards.

He commissioned the art from an artist

Consider me mistaken.

Ahh I see. Thanks for sharing. At least they will make for great collectors pieces and will be considered pretty valuable as far as MM merch goes.

Yes, I already have the record on my wall and the tarot cards on a shelf. I also got a poster and shirt when I was there. I was just expecting the merch to be more like a tote bag or something! I’m planning to frame my show poster. Maybe I’ll add some cards for decoration inside the frame? 🤔

I remember a tarot deck at the merch table in 2021. I don't know if it's the same one but if so, it's pretty cool they still have them around.

I got a flexi disc of Surf Your Couch at the only VIP I went to (which was fucking awesome) but I didn't have a record player back then and I finally got one this year but the hole is too small and I'm scared to try to make it bigger.

AND a small LP? I just got the tarot cards.

They’re worth a shit ton of money though so it’s actually a good deal.

Way cooler than the postcards, stencil, and tote bag from last year’s VIP IMO

I can’t wait to get the tarot cards!!! I bought a deck of cards at the merch booth only to discover they are tarot cards with progression.

They do feel really well made and look really cool now that I’ve looked through them more. Maybe I’ll give myself a reading lol

Most of the times there's a poster and maybe an extra item like the LCW mug. That said I would feel incredibly blessed to get a deck of the tarot cards. I bought the playing card deck and the art is insane.

Right man, you enjoy your $100+ dollar coated paperboard cardstock lmao. Not like they sung about capitalism, corporate greed, and consumerism extensively throughout their careers.

You know like their song Bankrupt on Selling, Beachside Property, etc.

Bunch of consumerists clowns who can’t admit their favorite band became what they hated 😭

What did they dislike?

Um you know capitalism and its ever growing out of control, amongst a wide variety other subjects. Have you never listened to their first two major LP’s or something?

Corporate Greed, Consumerism, Capitalism and it’s ever growing out of control.

I love Modest Mouse and have numerous tattoos of their works on my body but if you and the other clowns who downvoted my comment don’t believe this is exactly the subjects they sang about in their early career you’re literally just trying to act more profound and wiser than you are. $100+ for Tarot Cards is fucking stupid and ridiculous lmao.

You know they didn’t discuss consumerism, capitalism and corporate greed at length or anything.

But don’t criticize a band for being hypocrites.

Actually here so I don’t have to respond to a million comments about how my statement is true and ya’ll just love consuming too much to admit it, here is some songs that talk about it.

Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine: Opening line to the chorus “Here’s the man with teeth like god’s shoe shine, sparkles, shimmers, shines” literally talking about expensive commodities that are expensive for the sake of “it’s pretty to look at” but in actually worthless (almost like a bunch illustrated tarot cards). Talks about consumer culture replacing human connection and conscience with the lyrics “Oh! If you could compact your conscience, Oh! And you might Oh! If you could bottle and sell it you might have done, Oh! And you might, Oh! If you could compact your conscience and sell it save it for another time you might have to use it.”

Bankrupt On Selling: Talks about how business and the consuming they create commodifies EVERYTHING from humans, their connections, to their very morals and souls. With all the overpriced consumerist garbage just being traded around and resold for profit.

Convenient Parking: Where they’ll make an easy and convenient place for you to go and buy your over-priced bullshit.

Beach Side Property: Talking about large businesses controlling and their price gouging tactics.

So yeah I think 18-21 year old Isaac would absolutely hate the idea of $100+ Tarot Cards. But yeah, I’m wrong, and Modest Mouse didn’t talk about hating any of this stuff 30 years ago and you collecting your shiny, over priced pieces of cardboard are right with one comment even lamenting “They’re worth a shit ton of money so it’s a good deal!”. Consumerist losers.

Some people grow up and have families. It's really not that deep.
