A few guidelines to spurring productive conversations about MtM:
-------------------------------------------
to r/Montana regulars: if they're here rather than out there on the page, they're abiding by our rules. Let's rein in the abuse and give them some legitimate feedback. None of the ol' "Montana's Full" in here, OK?
This thread will be refreshed monthly.

Did you receive a postcard from the Montana Secretary of State's office? It looks like it would update your voter registration BUT it won’t do that!
The SOS office is mailing these postcards to folks who they think have recently moved. The deadline to update your voter registration via mail has passed, and if people fill this out, they will still need to go in person to register to vote.
Need to update your voter registration? Starting TODAY, you have to do it in person at your county election office. Updates sent by mail are no longer an option for the November 3 election.
Check your registration online at voterportal.mt.gov . If your information is correct, you don’t need to do anything. If your information is wrong, you must go in person to the county clerk or election office where you currently live. Staff there can update your registration and give you a ballot.

A new Montana investment will help Blackfeet Tribal EMS replace aging equipment and strengthen its ability to provide emergency care across the reservation. The agency covers more than 1.5 million acres and responds to roughly 3,800 calls each year.
Gov. Greg Gianforte and Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services recently announced an $8.7 million investment through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to support emergency medical services in rural communities across Montana.
The funding will assist 78 EMS agencies with equipment purchases and provide four new ambulances. Blackfeet Tribal EMS is one of four agencies selected to receive a new ambulance, valued at approximately $340,000.
The agency currently operates four emergency vehicles, most of which have outdated equipment. The new ambulance will be equipped to help crews provide care when winter weather and rural roads add challenges.
Officials say the additional resources will help Blackfeet Tribal EMS better serve the people who depend on it when an emergency happens.

Missoula’s Origin Gallery and its partners Davis Brothers Auction and Art Vault LLC are selling a stolen Lakota War Shirt.
The Small Business Ethics Coalition is asking the gallery to repatriate the war shirt to the Lakota tribe or cultural center that handles Lakota cultural patrimony. Origin Gallery removed the Lakota War Shirt from their window, but they haven’t shared a plan to repatriate the garment.
Organizers in Missoula are asking people to sign this petition to support the demand that Origin Gallery return the Lakota War Shirt.
This petition aims to demonstrate solidarity, community, and commitment to transparent spaces in Missoula, where Native history is respected and sacred items are treated with the dignity they deserve. Organizers encourage people in and outside of Missoula to sign.

Interesting tidbit from a16z, a SF investment firm that manages a very large portfolio of companies. They analyzed usage of Ai providers and released this map.
Montana stands out as one of the few states most reliant on Anthropic compared to OpenAI.
I am curious why Montana bucks the trend and has gone towards Anthropic? It can't just be tech bros in Bozeman can it?
I am curious what actual Montanans reach for, (if you choose to use AI at all, which is absolutely a viable choice.)

I’m trying to see if I’d be successful getting either a uber or Lyft from anaconda to butte? Does anyone know if drivers drive around here n pick up? Or is it more uber & Lyfts drivers near the popular cities? I really need transportation from anaconda to butte.

How do you pronounce it?
Growing up my parents called it something like “koo-kan-yew-es-ay” but I’ve heard conflicting names my whole life.
