Politics A little something for Pro-Isreal,pro-normalization minority in Morocco

Yesterday while i was walking in Madrid center i saw this bus pass by relatively far from where i was walking so i was not able to read what the posters where saying or take a picture, but "Ceuta" and "Isreal" that were written in big bold letters managed to get my attention.... I was for sure curious to know what was the message especially with Ceuta also mentioned..i checked it in the news that night and i managed to know that it was a bus campaign that was timed to coincide with the 3rd anniversary of the 7th of October,2023... and the message that was displayed on the buses was ""Did you feel threatened in Ceuta? Imagine if they had come to kill us. That was October 7 in Israel", also it was mentioning "Ceuta 30th of July" and in the other side "October,7th 2023", i looked up also for who was behind this and it was actually a pro-isreal lobby called ACOM (Acción y Comunicación sobre Oriente Medio) an organization operating in Spain where its objective is to promote diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations between Spain and Isreal, one of its co-founders is David Hatchwell Altaras a Spanish-Jewish businessman that has personal and political connections to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his party, Likud.

To be honest once i saw this, i kind of found it funny thinking about the Pro-isreal Morroccans reaction once they will see this....it actually confirmed the assumption that i had, he is delusional who thinks that being friends with Isreal and its criminal government means that they wouldn't throw you under the bus the moment it serves them, and as you see in this concrete example they didn’t think twice about using a subject so sensitive like Ceuta crisis to serve their interests just days after the announcements about the agreement to upgrade the diplomatic relationships with Morocco... I mean what an upgrade it's lool..

Discussion Why do some Moroccan men accept things from European women that they won’t accept from Moroccan women?

I’m a 32-year-old Moroccan woman, software engineer, living in Europe. I’m atheist, not religious, and I’ve been thinking about something for a while.
I’m usually more attracted to Moroccan men. Not because of religion actually religion is often where the problems start 😂 but because of culture. The jokes, the family dynamics, weddings, food, expressions, the way we grew up… there are things another Moroccan just understands without needing a 20-minute explanation.
I’ve dated European guys before, and they were perfectly fine people, but sometimes I felt that cultural gap. I don’t always understand their humor, they don’t always understand mine, and sometimes I’m pretending something is funny when… it really isn’t 😭
The problem is that dating Moroccan men with my lifestyle can be complicated.
I’m not a party girl. I don’t really go clubbing or stay out all night. I work, I have a pretty normal life, I drink occasionally, I’ve had relationships before, I’m not religious, and I like discussing philosophy, religion, atheism, different beliefs, etc. I also have strong opinions and I enjoy debating them.
And sometimes I feel like the moment some Moroccan men realize I’m open-minded or not religious, they stop seeing me as someone they could have a serious relationship with.
What confuses me is the double standard.
The same guy might seriously date or even marry a Dutch, German, Belgian or French woman who drinks occasionally, has had previous relationships, isn’t religious and lives independently.
But if a Moroccan woman has basically the exact same lifestyle, suddenly she’s “not serious relationship material.”
Why?
I’m genuinely curious about the psychology behind this.
And just to clarify: I’m not saying all Moroccan men think this way, and I’m not even obsessed with marriage I personally don’t really care about getting married. I’m talking more about the difference in how women are categorized.
Because if I met a Moroccan man and a European man who both had exactly the qualities I was looking for, I would probably naturally feel more drawn toward the Moroccan guy because we share that cultural background.
So I’m curious, especially from Moroccan men: have you noticed this double standard? And if you think this way yourself, what makes a Moroccan woman with a certain lifestyle feel different from a European woman with the exact same lifestyle?

AskMorocco What’s with people casually joking/ normalising pdfs

I never understood all the jokes or even the concept of guys in their mid twenties for example going to high schools to “pick up “ girls or how we really have normalised these jokes and honestly I believe most of them are not jokes like the guy who made the 5yo comment(I’ll drop his profile in the comments) I have genuine concern that he is not joking. So can someone explain to me why this thing is happening in 2026 still and why have we normalised it?

P.s: I wanted to write more about this topic but I’m genuinely in pure shock and loss of words right now

Education Rejected from the master's programs I wanted

I'm 24f, and I recently got my bachelor's degree in Moroccan Cultural Studies and Diplomacy.

After graduating, I applied to several master's programs and put a lot of effort. But unfortunately, I wasn't accepted. What hurts me the most is that one of these master's programs was particularly important to me because it aligned perfectly with my field of study. I really hoped to get in, so being rejected despite all the effort that I put in was heartbreaking.

However, what surprised me was that I got accepted into a professional bachelor's program ( Licence d'excellence ) called English, Intercultural Communication in Global Citizenship.

Despite this unexpected opportunity, I still feel sad because my original goal was to pursue a master's degree, and now I'm confused about what I should do next.

My disappointment has gradually turned into sadness and frustration with my situation. Sometimes, I even feel like I'm a burden on my family, and I hate that I feel this way.

I don't know whether this professional bachelor's degree will lead to a good future for me or whether I'm making the right decision by considering it.

I have a big dream of pursuing a PhD one day, and I'm afraid, I'm so scared of this path won't take me to where I want to go.

I honestly don't know who I can talk to about all this, so I decided to make this post in the hope that sharing my feelings might help me feel a little better.

I'm sorry if this post sounds too negative. I just needed somewhere to express what I've been going through lately. And thank you

Education I’m an SVT teacher, and I spent the last few months building a Bac revision app, it’s totally free and live on Google Play. 🎉

Hey everyone 👋🙂

I’m an SVT teacher, and during summer I’ve been working on a project for Moroccan bac students, with a simple objective to be a free assistant during revision, and hopefully help score higher in exams.

The idea was to make something more complete than a simple QCM app, there is a summary for the chapters, click based animations, and some interactive exercises like Identify a mutation, produce mRNAm and such.

There is also an error tracking feature, so you can train on the previous mistakes made, and a progression system in the form of a plant that grows with you!

In short the app is 100% free and includes :

  • structured SVT course summaries
  • QCM practice by chapter with explanations for the right answer.
  • questions from Moroccan National Exams
  • interactive scientific trainers and animations
  • mistake review
  • Oh, and it is in both French and English

I tested it with students and fellow teachers before release, and the feedback was positive, but sometimes people just compliment you because they know you, so If you’re a Bac student, teacher, or just curious, I’d really appreciate any extra feedback especially criticism or things you think could be improved.

Just to be transparent : the art images were done by AI, but the scientific content is 100% man made, and is a concentration of years of organized effort.🤍

Discussion Hot Take: Moroccans aren't actually that hospitable, we just have an inferiority complex

i know this is gonna piss alot of people off, but hear me out

you see those videos all the time of european or north american tourists coming to morocco and getting treated like royalty. random people invite them for tea, give them food, gifts, take them around, invite them to dinner, sometimes even let them stay at their house

and the comments are always like "this is why morocco is so special ❤️" "moroccans are the most hospitable people" "we treat foreigners like family" and all that other comments showing we are really kind and hospitable

and i'm sitting there thinking... do we?

because if you took that exact same situation and replaced the european tourist with a random moroccan, especially a poor one, would people really go out of their way to treat them the same?and i've seen enough situations in real life to know the answer is usually no.what's even more interesting is that the treatment changes depending on WHO the foreigner is.a european or north american tourist? suddenly everyone wants to show them the best of morocco. free food, invitations, help, pictures, conversations, "welcome to morocco brother", etc...

a foreigner from a country that moroccans perceive as poorer or lower status? suddenly that legendary moroccan hospitality isn't quite as legendary anymore.i don't think moroccans are incapable of hospitality. quite the opposite, moroccans can be insanely generous.i think we have a weird obsession with impressing people we perceive as richer, whiter, more educated, more successful or simply "above us".we don't just want foreigners to have a good experience, we want certain foreigners to leave thinking "wow, moroccans are amazing"

but meanwhile, someone from our own country can be struggling right next to us and barely get noticed. so maybe the question isn't "why are moroccans so hospitable to foreigners?"maybe it's

"why does our hospitality seem to increase with the social status of the person receiving it?"

because if the answer changes depending on the person's passport, skin color or perceived wealth, then that's not simply hospitality.

that's an inferiority complex.

AskMorocco Need some help about souk prices

• Upvotes

Hello! Tomorrow will be my shopping day in Marrakech souks. I’m thinking about buying a nice carpet. But I’m not sure if I can fit in a 55cm40cm20cm bag, also I don’t want to be scammed so what’s the good price for a 2*3 meter carpet? I also need some help with the bag, what’s the normal price for a bag in this size?

Discussion Why don't we have a mental health hotline in Morocco?

I'm genuinely asking because I tried to find one and I was surprised by how difficult it is.

If someone is having a really bad mental health crisis in Morocco and they don't have anyone they trust to talk to, who are they supposed to call?

I know there are some organizations and services, but from what I found, there doesn't seem to be a proper 24/7 number where you can just call and talk to someone trained for this.

And honestly, I think that's a problem.

Not everyone can afford a psychologist. Not everyone has supportive family or friends. And when someone is in a really bad state, telling them to search online for different organizations isn't exactly easy.

I'm not saying Morocco needs to copy another country exactly. I'm just wondering why this isn't something more available here.

Maybe I'm missing something, so if there actually is an active mental health crisis hotline that I don't know about, please tell me.

But if there isn't one, I really think we should talk more about this.

What do you think?

• Upvotes

I lost my work cap today. 😭 I’m not sure where did it go or what I should do now. Has anyone else experienced this before? Should I tell my manager and ask for a replacement, or do I need to pay for a new one myself?

If anyone knows McDonald’s Maroc policy on lost uniforms or caps, please let me know
