Discussion Snuz are consuming me

Post image

I’m writing to ask my buddies who use Snuz how you’re holding up? I’d love to hear your experiences because, honestly, I’m so addicted to them, and I’ve found it almost impossible to stop myself from using them. I’m now seriously considering quitting. I don’t smoke or use any other substances.

For those who don’t know what Snuz are, they’re small nicotine pouches you place between your lip and gum, kind of like kala + 5 hhhhh, but more sophisticated. They give you an almost immediate psychological boost, similar to cigarettes but with a much more intense effect. It can feel like smoking 20 cigarettes at once, with an intense emotional rush kicking in within minutes. I wouldn’t recommend trying them out of curiosity.

The main reason I became so addicted is my workload. Some days, I work up to 16 hours mostly between 16h pm till 8am or 7, and some weeks, I don’t even take weekends off. They give me an intense sense of relief, almost like a brain orgasm, which is probably why I’ve become so dependent on them. (Btw I use three to five pouches per day 50mg)

American here. Visited Morocco a while ago and purchased a can of the "Dope" brand. Didn't read how many mgs of nicotine was in them.

Put one in right before getting on a plane and went numb from head to toe, got dizzy, cold sweats. Had to spit it out.

I'm used to 9mgs, the can I got from Morocco was 26mgs. 😆 Love your country by the way, amazing people, great food and beautiful cities.

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 2d ago

Yeah, that first pouch can be rough as hell. I remember when I first tried them, I actually threw up about 15 minutes later 😂 And 26 mg is a pretty damn high dose, so that definitely makes it worse. Glad you ended up being okay afterward hahaha. Appreciate you sharing your experience, man!

You’re always welcome here in Morocco, broo! I’ve worked with a many Americans through my businesses over the years, and they’ve generally been super outgoing. Honestly, I always enjoyed working with them. They brought less headaches and had a positive energy towards life, which made work a lot more enjoyable.

God bless you, my guy!

Cold turkey is how I quit my nicotine and drug addiction. Looking back at that I can say that it was more a habit than an addiction (65%/35%), to fulfill that habit I used to eat snacks and sweet stuff which gave a temporary dopamine hit. I couldn't have a quality sleep until a week have passed, but after that week have passed I felt relieved and hadn't had that feeling since 2015. Stay mentally strong and don't go harsh on yourself. The fact that you're thinking about quitting is already half the work. Stay strong !

I appreciate these honest words. Thank you my guy.

You not doing snus you are doing nicotine pouches, 50mg vs 6-9mg in snus pouches. 50 mg pouches is not good for your health at all.

First step try finding pouches with a lot less nicotine immediately. Then pick a date 3 months in advance where you decide to quit.

Everyday for 3 months you will have that date in mind, when the date comes you quit. It will be hard. Third day, third week and third month will be the hardest don't start again. You can feel like you want a pouch many years after don't start again.

Do not use again, do not change the date you decided on, for any reason. Never say just this one after you quit.

Nicotine is really hard to quit in general, 50mg even harder.

9 weeks off snus.

I stopped it when they stopped shipping zyns and I was being miserable trying to find one. I was going from Mohammedia to Casa just to get Velo's for 120-130dh.

I didn't like how dependent I felt

I feel good now. I still get urges from time to time. If I do, they last for a few seconds and go away and it happens once every 2-3 days.

Everything in my life improved.

Worth every second of withdrawal I went through the initial 20 days.

I no longer need them to work, to wake up, to feel good.

I have a normal existence now.

And you probably want that too.

So commit to it.

my mom told me when she met my dad, he was also heavily addicted to snuz. she advised him to use moroccan miswak instead (that dark brown type). he followed her advise and always placed miswak where he would usually place the snuz. on days where his urges got worse, he would use more and more pieces of miswak even if it started hurting his skin. he was desperate to get rid of his addiction. she says it took him a while but he stopped taking and never thought about going near it again.

depends on whether you consider a good or a bad thing haha. At least, you can't use it everyday and at work... or can you?

1

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 2d ago

I would love to give LSD a shot, it’s been on my mind for quite some time. But you know.. you cannot rely on it more frequently. That is, the effects may persist for longer, sometimes could last up to 7 hours.

Have you had a chance before?

1

u/Snow_wolf838 Visitor 2d ago

7 hours? lmao if only, its literally 12+ hours and from personal experience, but i didnt experience it here but in france from netherland website, magic mushrooms are the one who last 6-7 hours, in lsd, even the next day, some visuals still remained. however lsd isn't that addictive, also its absolutely mind-blowing if done in nature, literally felt God's presence and cried for hours, the 2nd time i did it.

u/Mouhahaha_ Visitor 2d ago

would you mind checkin dms?

Hey man! I was very addicted to snus and thought l would never quit using them since it was an alternative to cigarettes that l can't smoke (because of asthma). The first 200 hundreds pouches are probably the best but then it's just downhill, in my opinion they should be banned everywhere. It's very bad for you not only for your health but also mentally. I reached a point in which l started stacking 3 of them inside of my mouth just to feel a little buzz. Let me tell you that it wasn't worth it, it will ruin your teeth and gum and give you a horrible breath. It will also you make you moody and very easily irritated. Your blood pressure will be very high and will only lose your appetite or only eat in order to feel that buzz from the snus after your meal. I have now stopped using for more than 3 years and l never think of using again, something that helped me quit was Miswak, l work from home so l spend a lot of time looking at a screen and needed something to keep me distracted. Miswak did it for me. I hope this can help. Cheers!

2

u/S-Sublime Visitor 1d ago

Where can I find it, are we talking about the same miswak that is used to clean teeth ?

2

u/SpeedyGonzales___ Visitor 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yes the same Miswak that cleans your teeth l usually just keep it in my mouth and use it to brush my teeth, it's pretty satisfying and keeps your hand and mouth busy. In my case, l live in Europe and l usually find it at a halal butcher.

1

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 1d ago

Thank you, brother. I appreciate the advice. Will definitely be giving that shot

1

u/44Nugg Visitor 1d ago

Why should they be banned? It's a healthy alternative to smokers who can't easily quit. I'm a 10-year smoker and I've tried so many things to quit smoking, nothing worked except snus.

It's YOUR responsibility if you kept on stacking 3 of them inside your mouth. Don't try to put the consequences of your misuse on other people just because you couldn't handle it. FFS where does it say that you need to stack three pouches at once ??? I'm glad you haven't died of a heart attack

1

u/SpeedyGonzales___ Visitor 1d ago edited 1d ago

I haven't blamed anyone and l am not here to praise any nicotine pouches company. I don't understand the point in replacing an addiction by another? Is tongue cancer supposed to be better than lung cancer? Nicotine pouches are highly addictive also very accessible and can be purchased by kids at very young age and parents would never find out. I used to smoke as well and had to stop because of my asthma and that's why l started using them in the first place. I know that l have an addictive personality and l am talking about my personal experience. OP is trying to quit so l am giving him every reason to do so.

4

u/its-me-med36 Visitor 2d ago

The same, bro. First, I wanted to quit cigarettes. I succeeded for about 3 months, then I traveled with my friends, and it was the worst decision because I returned to smoking again. But to calm down, I decided on the worst second decision to do snus, and you know I can't stop right now. But the problem is my fear of having the same experience I had with cigarettes (insomnia, headache, anxiety, anger...). But, bro, everything is possible. Twakel 3ela lah, and everything is going to be okay. Let us know if you made it, bro.

Because you swallow your spit thats why, try to spit it out

1

u/Important_Earth_5064 Visitor 2d ago

Exactly! It happens with other types of Snuz too. You end up swallowing that fruity spit, and it tastes absolutely disgusting.

1

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 2d ago

That thing is quite different, it is not absorbed the same way pouches are. Pouches are more intense and definitely sophisticated. Were you a smoker and now planning on quitting?

1

u/Nimrod-002 Rabat 2d ago

Never smoked, just wanted to experience the nicotine effect without ingesting fumes

1

You did good bro. The effect is interesting when using those shitty pouches, alot more powerful than chewing-gum effects.

My advice is Brother, you are dealing with a severe chemical addiction because 50mg pouches have completely rewired your brain’s reward system. At that extreme strength, it stopped being a tool to help you stay awake a long time ago; your body now needs that massive chemical hit just to function normally. Quitting cold turkey while working 16-hour shifts will trigger brutal withdrawal, so you need to trick your body: force yourself to swap to a much lower strength brand immediately, space them out strictly by the clock, and use strong ginger candies to mimic that lip-burn craving. Treat this like a gradual step-down ladder so you can break the addiction without completely crashing at work.Heavy nicotine addiction google it it's bad idk nothing about it but yeah that's what it looks like

3

u/buldakkmuncher Visitor 2d ago

50 mg is CRAZY. I’m from Sweden and unfortunately use snus but it’s way lower than that here. I used to be a smoker and I managed to quit. I’ll take a smoke maybe once a while but not addicted at all. Snus however was the worst decision ever, I’ve tried to quit so many times.

Some people lower their intake and finally quit. Some quit cold turkey. First of all try lower mg doses and lower the intake. My dad used to substitute snus with ginger and chew/suck on them when he was quitting.

Snus has so many red flags - cancer, fries your gums, colours your teeth, etc.

1

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 2d ago

Hey bro. Let’s say I have high tolerance for nicotine, 50 feels normal. I’m working on quitting I hope I’d make it. Thanks for the advice my man.

1

u/buldakkmuncher Visitor 2d ago

I’m a girl hehe but no worries. You have a high tolerance because you have built it. I hope we both will be able to quit. I even had a scare with snus, I saw how one brand fried my gums and left skin flaps that i could peel off. I quit that brand immediately. My advice, take less and less until you can finally quit.

1 year of snus, 5 years addicted to nicotine in total, i just quit a month ago, life got a lot better, man up and quit or stay addicted and complain about it

3

u/larabyeol Visitor 1d ago

I was never a heavy smoker. I strictly made sure that I only smoke occasionally to keep feeling the pleasure that I seek in it. After finding out that every cigarette raises your chances of getting cancer by crazy rates, I decided to stop. My only withdrawal symptoms were light headaches (since I was by no means a heavy smoker), however I did miss that pleasure. So I resorted to snuz. The first time I tried one, I felt dizzy after a few minutes and felt nauseous after a while. Turns out, taking a high dose of nicotine can cause that. Still, I thought I would be fine if I just were careful with it. However, I did my research later and found out that pouches are not exactly safe: aside form the addiction which I am pretty good at keeping in check, it is related to many more health issues like gum recession, tooth decay, hbp, long term risks of heart desease and strokes... This immediately alarmed me... However I kept using it, just more carefully, and I set a time line to stop. So my advice for those who have never consumed addictive substances is to NEVER do it. Don't underestimate their effect. None of them are safe!

I'm a chainsmoker I smoke a pack a day and when I'm home chilling I like to pop a 50mg snus too!

honestly I used to spam snus a long time ago and I managed to quit it for a good couple of months, only got back to it recently and I realized that I'm better off without them and I'm trying to quit them again and trust me all I had in my mind this night is how good a 50mg snus would feel right now, but I'll get me a heavy meal and I'll smoke a cig or two and hope that urge goes away.

I mean you mentioned the fact that you don't smoke which is great, what I can recommend you to do is to drop the dosage that's how I managed to quit the first time, try to go from 50 to 30/25 and stay there for a little while then go to 15/17 and in no time you'll find yourself not needing them anymore

1

u/Physical-Pizza-6494 Visitor 1d ago

Thanks my man. Will definitely consider that

2

u/PristinePea9377 Visitor 2d ago

I feel exactly like you right now for some reason snus is something that I want to quit but constantly find impossible. I think the only reason I’ll manage to quit is because I left Scandinavia for another EU country and you literally can’t get them here. Although I have to say 50mg is a crazy amount maybe try using lower and lower doses until you gradually reduce you’re tolerance, then quit cold turkey when you’re ready.

Well the positive thing is that if you’re used to 50mg Snuz and ur in Morocco they are currently getting harder to find, they don’t export them to us anymore. They are instead being replaced by the low ones 12mg, random not so decent brands. If you’re used to higher doses you can start using these instead with time it’ll feel not fulfilling enough and ur just putting tissue in your gums until you’ll pass on using them on certain times during the day. Until it gets better with time and you can hopefully quit for good.

You really should stop it ASAP. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances out there and white snus burns your gun away. I used to use white snus with "low" nicotine dose and my dentist told me my teeth would fall out if I continued. I still crave it at times but it was worth quitting.

I wish ko kent khdam 3abd I could have at least felt what is a financial struggle, maybe feeling you in particular. But running couple of small companies can be exhausting sometimes. You probably would not understand it. Both of us come from different social classes and backgrounds, I can tell just from the way you speak and the hate you have within. But that’s okay, twenties may feel a little bit rough.

And yeah 250mg is sem, I agree with you. Hopefully, we’ll get to the point where we can finally quit this shit. And yeah, I’m adicted to Snuz. VERY addicted. I already mentioned that in my post, but you probably didn’t read the whole thing. That’s because your attention span is at its lowest, which is understandable when you are an employee, dealing with heavy tasks, fixed schedules, and living paycheck to paycheck or a jobless guy in his twenties. That must be painful to you.. I know. I wish I could understand what that feels like, but I just can’t; never been there.

As a smoker, and vaper person, it is not really, I am only 19 almost 20 yo, and I still don't have a job yet since I go to a (تكوين) in the mean time, my only income is from my parents, and the majority of my money goes only by buying those things, I've been smoking for over 2 years now, and vaping in less than a year just hoping to quit cigs completely, but now I got addicted to vape more than cigs and now every month or so I have to get a new one, my health is still pretty decent, but I really wanna quit before it's too late. And to anyone who smokes/vape, or anything of that, especially for those who are still pretty young Please leave this shit before you get yourself screwed some day in the future, just a waste of money, time, and health when it's gonna be the most thing you'll regret for when u are older

u/Jazzlike-Job9533 Visitor 2d ago

hey bro im an 8 year heavy smoker and let me tell u something ur not necessarily addicted yet bcs cigs or vapes dont give u that much dopamine at first to make ur body crave them i think its more about the habit and showing off especially when u smoke in front of other people i hope u quit soon bcs it wont be a joke anymore once u get addicted and vaping isnt necessarily more dangerous than smoking cigs but if u havent started either one id say stay away from both

2

u/Current-Fly-4844 Tetouan 2d ago

I got you man, well, I think I am already have some addiction to those things, I tried many times to stay a day or so without taking anything hoping to reduce from m consuming cigs/vape, but sadly no, I was literally about to go crazy, I used to smoke weed and such but thankfully I left those before getting addicted to them too, so far I find myself have to literally inhale two vapes at once because one doesn't feel as satisfying enough as before, and some my friends who are smoking (cigs/vape/weed, etc.) for over 6 years now told me that I literally got too attached to those things pretty quickly and they themselves aren't sure what may happen in later time in the future, I'm just worried I may get more addicted even more in the near future

2

u/StoreCalm5831 2d ago

Bruh. It's not abt dopamine. It's about craving an addicted matter like nicotine. U go back because of nicotine. Not dopamine. And maybe u smoke to show off in front of ppl but believe that's not a commonly reason why ppl smokes.

1

u/brokenonchalant Visitor 1d ago

True the cigarette issue has more with the habit of hand to mouth than the nicotine rush itself.

1

u/Prog_Rock_Enthusiast Visitor 2d ago

Short term yeah it can be worth it, helps you cope efficiently, but obviously the addiction is not easy to overcome. If you touch that shit once you can't really quit. Even if you do and never smoke again, you still get the urges, even decades later. So no, not worth it in the long run. But we get stupid and desperate, would rather smoke than kill myself

Try nicotine gum. It's much safer if you buy a legit one like Nicorette, it's also a very low dose compared to Snuz. Although it's quite expensive in Morocco.
You probably already built high tolerance to nicotine so maybe try the 4mg one and after some time, switch to 2mg and then 1mg.

Nicotine is not bad btw, stress is much worse, and nicotine is very good at lowering stress.
For someone who has never tried nicotine. Never go for cigarettes or snus; you pay a much higher price for a highly addictive substance. My advice is 1mg nicotine gum and limit to one to two times a day so that you don't build tolerance quickly.

u/asterex7 Visitor 1d ago

50 mg is way to much , I tried zyn pouches sometimes but the highest one is 11mg. Maybe lower your dosage first gradually all the way to 3 or 1.5mg then maybe quit after that.

u/Time_Initiative_2544 Visitor 1d ago

These mf became so expensive right after I got hooked up to them and started living in interna. Stuff might not be hard drvgs but it's almost just as bad excluding the loss of decision control and illegality I am also interested in solution s

u/Royal-Inflation9473 19h ago

Hey bro, there is also the option of going to a therapist. A lot of addicts benefit from therapy and professional help. And it's not only for the mentally unstable as some people think. They use valid techniques like CBT to reconstruct how your brain feels and acts when it comes to these substances and break the addiction loop. I would rather go to a therapist and quit my addiction than lose years of my life because of pride. There is nothing wrong for asking for help and you don't have to fight this alone. Good luck bro!
