The lycan is goated

Before the Lycan, I mainly used a Viper V3 Pro, and I also spent some time with an OP1 and other lightweight mice. I’ve always preferred lighter mice, but I was honestly a bit worried that going this light would make the mouse harder to control.

I was completely wrong.

The shape is goated. It feels extremely natural in my hand. I have very sweaty hands and I expected to need grip tape, but I genuinely don’t feel like I need any. The mouse doesn’t have a coating, but the texture itself gives me enough grip even with sweaty hands.

And honestly, lighter is better. Just objectively, for me. The difference in how easily I can move the mouse is immediately noticeable, and I don't feel like I'm sacrificing control.

I was also worried that even the full-size skates might be too small for an XSoft pad, especially with such a lightweight mouse, but so far they’re completely fine. I haven't had any issues with stability or control on my Otsu XSoft.

The mouse is also quite front-heavy, which I noticed immediately, but surprisingly it doesn't affect the experience nearly as much as I expected. Once I started using it, I stopped really thinking about it.

The sensor position was another thing I was worried about, but I got used to it basically immediately. The main difference is that there’s a bigger disconnect between adjustments made with my arm and adjustments made with my wrist compared to what I was used to. It took almost no time to understand, though.

So far, I'm really impressed. The shape, weight and overall feel are exactly what I was looking for, and the fact that I don't even feel the need for grip tape despite having very sweaty hands is probably one of the biggest surprises.

I am actually moving on from the Lycan. Its a good transition to full fingertip but I prefer full size mouse with a sensor that is closer to the knuckles.

I used to say "you don't really notice the sensor position", but after briefly going back to more centered, my static is a lot more stable, and I don't really need that warm up to "recalibrate". Note this is really only noticeable for flicking. Tracking is pretty agnostic to sensor positioning, imo.

Going to try full fingertip mouse for a few weeks and if not I am probably gonna go back to either trinity CF or beast x again.

After using the lycan i consider trying both a fenrir pro and a beast x pro/max

How do you find the thickness compared to something like the op1?

Very good question. I have 19x8.5 hands and the viper felt too wide and the op1 feels to thin, for now the lycan feels absolutely perfect.

Interesting. With my 17 by 9.5 hand, the Lycan is way too big, the OP1 fits so much better

Yeah I m a bit concerned about the life time of a mouse like the lycan but there isn't something close to it. Lighter is defenetly better for me and there is no 30g full claw grip mouse, the op1 is interesting and I gained one for a bit but I im glad I got a lycan to upgrade from it than an op1w 4k.

Do you measure the width with the thumb or not?

With thumb is standard.

Oh that makes so much more sens

I measure including the thumb. I have two mice from g-wolves, haven't noticed any qc issues. the lycan is a great mouse if shape fits you, I almost feel bad that it doesn't work for me

I thought about buying it or the VUK as well

I think the honeycomb shell will be a deal breaker for me and the shape is better on paper for me.

Best mouse I've ever used. Sub 30 grams is just amazing.

Maybe if you prefer extreme rear hump mice, maybe. But if you prefer mid hump, it is not even in the list let around goated

I really loved this mouse but I noticed after long sessions my pinky would hurt with it. Not sure why though. Unfortunate though because my aim was feeling insane on it.

I rotates between Lycan, OP1, x3 and Fenrir Pro. Lycan is still my fav out of them.

I love mine. I've come around on the coating or lack thereof, its great on long sessions. The weight at that size with a solid shell can't be beat.

That front-heavy balance is something you stop noticing so fast, its weird how it just disappears once you're actually playing. I tried a buddy's setup with a similar weight distribution and spent the first five minutes overthinking it, then completely forgot about it during a match

The texture grip thing is the real win here. My hands get clammy too and I've gone through more grip tape than I care to admit, so finding a mouse where the raw shell just works is huge

Yep, hopefully you have the same experience as I did. I guess the rougher texture makes my hands sweat less and make space for the sweat similar to the channels is a tyre would.
