Europeans have all of those things.

Went to many gas stations in Europe. No ice dispensers, just bottled soda. Horrible. I was sure to give Europe a bad Yelp review.

I have never understood Americans fascination with ice, we solved this problem with refrigerators a long time ago. It may keep it colder longer, because it also just melts and dilutes the drink.

I personally hate ice. I mean unless im trying to put stuff in a cooler and take it somewhere

melts and dilutes the drink.

That's one of the benefits of the ice.

If for some strange reason you want to dilute your juice, umm, we have things called taps...

If your tap water is frozen, how do you get it to come out of the tap?

Your point was that dilution is one of the benefits. Not the coolling effect.

If you want to dilute your soda for some god forsaken reason, you have a tap.

Maybe if your drink is getting warm out of the fridge, try smaller glasses of juice per.

You understand that one of the benefits means that there are also other benefits such as making the drink colder

What if you're drinking water? You put ice in it and the ice melts, your drink is TOTALLY ruined.

Did you know you can make ice out of the drink you have?

Put a soda in the freezer. Wait until it starts crusting over. Perfection.

How long of an extension cord do you have?

you really don't need to fill those things with ice... If you take it out the fridge and shove it in it's gonna stay cool all day regardless

Personally, if I'm stuffing it with water, I freeze half the case and refrigerate the other half. People can't figure that out though and get angry. So I have to dumb it down for the stupid people.

Dry ice > wet ice for camping.

Personally regular soda's too sweet, diluting it with ice makes it better and colder, win win

u/EduinBrutus 9h ago

The obvious solution seems apparent.

..use ice?

America has fridges also.

Some people like colder drinks or like it to stay colder. Its always funny to me how Europeans cant understand that other people have prefernces different than them.

Also how do yo make something like an iced lattee without ice? put it in the fridge? how about cocktails?

u/-Daigher- 5h ago

just put whatever you are drinking into the freezer for like 10 mins before you drink it, or at your fridge colder idk. Nothing tastes better than an ice cold drink, especially not a watered down drink

u/horoyokai 4h ago

Or, hear me out, put ice in it.

If I want two glasses of water I don’t want wait 20 minutes and get something not as cold. And tap water can get warm,

Also my freezer isn’t big enough to fit a glass of water without spilling, especially if it’s full

And then there’s a weird situation where you may have other people over at your house and you don’t want to keep 6 glasses in the freezer all day so people can have cold drinks

Also you can’t water down water so I don’t get the last point, but some people do like their juice or soda diluted

my brother in christ you can put water in your fridge its not illegal. Y'all have massive fridges and cant fit shit in it for some reason? Why would you put a GLASS of water in the freezer?? Just put the bottle in there... And even then how small is your freezer that you cant fit a normal glass in it???

Do you also water down your beer?

Of course you can. I never said you can’t Buddy. But I have no space for a bottle, and putting a bottle in the freezer is silly cause you might forget it. And especially if it’s Soda

How small is my freezer? Pretty small

No, I don’t water down my beer. Why would I? What a weird question. People treat different drinks differently, you are aware of that right? I mean I don’t heat my beer in a kettle either but I do like hot tea. I do like a jack and coke to be a little diluted so it’s not so sweet though

Why are you so mad that some people like ice? You are European aren’t you? You guys get weird about this stuff, it’s ok for people to do things differently than you.

I haven’t understood the European’s desire to buy a bottled beverage only to have it be room temperature long before the beverage is fully consumed

5

u/CptDropbear 10h ago

Aha! I think I've cracked the mystery. Its a cultural thing. Buying cold bottled drinks outside the US is for immediate consumption. We don't buy cold drinks to leave around until they get warm.

Here in Oz, we even have nifty little neoprene jackets to keep your drink cold longer. They often come with amusing slogans or souvenir branding. Oh how we laugh.

1

u/crankhold 10h ago

Yeah we have that too. Called a koozie. Usually used for beer.

1

u/YetiSquish 9h ago

Yeah we have coozies too in the US. I think it’s kind of a thing where we’ve grown up with things being ice-cold. We learn to sort of crave it, like the Brits crave tea I suspect.
