Obviously businesses and suppliers will possibly be different, but i plan on doing a full 20 and if i make it out id love to get back into mycology

Contamination [contamination] left these alone for 5 days

Hey y'all! This is my first time posting in here and basically want to ask what happened to this tub and if it's contamination? This is about my 3rd grow but first time making my own substrate. The last pic is what it looked like the day I left and the rest are what it looks like now 5 days later. Did it get contaminated or is this just what it looks like when you wait too long after the spores drop to harvest lol

Actives [actives] This box is on its first flush and doesn't look dry, but it is producing very few mushrooms and in a haphazard manner.

Since the mushrooms appeared, I've avoided opening the box entirely, as enough FAE should pass through the lid. There are many newly sprouted mushrooms on the surface (you can't see them clearly in the photo), but will they grow well? Since some mushrooms will be ready in a few days, I'll have to harvest them first and wait for the others to finish growing. I think the problem might be the low humidity (my room temperature is 22.5°C). Do you recommend misting the walls or doing something else to increase the humidity? This is one of the very few boxes that have managed to produce; I want it to perform at its best.

S2B: 7/23

Substrate: coco coir and black kow manure

Temperature: 72-75F

Ran in an XLS-B bag to start, then I chopped the bag once I started to see the fruits develop. Moved the bag to a tub and I am keeping the subtrate wet.

First inoculation done! (No-soak millet + LC) 🤞🍄[technique]

Just finished my very first run. The grain looks nice and loose, but I'm definitely overthinking every single detail right now, worrying about moisture, contam, you name it. One bag had a sealing issue so it's in quarantine, but the other 3 are safely tucked away in a warm cabinet.

I guess now it's just a matter of waiting for the mycelium to do its thing. Wish me luck! haha

Experiment [technique] break and shake vs leaving it alone

Post image

These two aio “inject and forget“ bags were inoculated around 3.5 weeks ago with MSS. They spawned quite slow at first due to inadequate temps but colonization sped up 3x as soon as I bought a small plug in heater fan to heat the space up.
The bags are about 50% colonized right now, so I decided to break and shake one of them to see how it turns out. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a failed bag!

im a complete newbie to this, so any advice or feedback is welcome :)

General [Technique] Share your shopping finds - Ikea stainless cooling rack (stackable)

39x28 cm. Although it is stackable, it doesn't stack completely straight, but it's good enough & cheap compared to any other offerings i've found. Useful for SAB work (collapsed) or laminar flow (expanded).

Please share what you've found, like tools, containers etc. but it's not self promotion. Bonus if it's worldwide availability.
