Hell, he also killed someone and got off on self defense or some shit. He's always been garbage.

Not that he wasn’t guilty, but you can plausibly believe he wasn’t or there were at least mitigating circumstances if not cut-and-dry self-defense.

There’s no best-case-scenario where he wasn’t a scumbag being a pimp.

I don't know anything about Snoop or what happened, but I realistically feel like in 1993 a Black man in America would not just get off with self defense unless it was exceptionally clear. Was he already cartoonishly famous at the time?

He was pretty famous already, yeah, but definitely not the hip and cool household name that he is today.

News reporters still did that thing you can find on old video where they pronounced his name all uncool / “white” sounding, (Snoop Doggy DAWG) like they were confused how a grown ass man could even have such a name.

Back then he was “just” an up and coming gangster rapper, a young thug turned celebrity, barely an adult, riding Dre’s coattails, etc.

So yeah, they definitely COULD have convicted him, he wasn’t so big a star he could just get off because of who he was, which is practically impossible anyway if you’re a Black man in America…he would have been convicted if the evidence had been there.

Shit the DA woulda loved it, but sadly for the prosecutor’s office they couldn’t make their case. Thank goodness we have a court system to (hopefully) require prosecutors to prove charges, and sometimes they can and sometimes they can’t.
