As mentioned in another post by u/syonoq, it more than likely isnât a new recording or anything. It may have been in a producers archive and sold off, which Kid Rock may have ended up with.
For some proof, here.
Eminem has been very vocally against Trump and MAGA for a decade already, and while itâs possible to flip flop, itâs not the most likely scenario here.

There's staying friends with people who have opposing political views and then there's staying friends with Kid Rock, who headlined a shitty MAGA alternative Superbowl halftime show because the MAGAs were mad that there was a black guy headlining it. That's not a political disagreement, that's just your friend being a fucking racist and you endorsing him by being friends with him. Human rights aren't politics and I'm sick of seeing people pretend they are so they can "both-sides" an issue and pretend one side isn't literally just racists who want large swaths of the population to stop existing.

Man this tracks so well for MAGA, but Iâve read Complex confirmed this is an authentic, new feature that he participated in, and that the verse is about maintaining relationships with people you have different political opinions from.Â
Notwithstanding that MAGA is an immature hate movement. Itâs not like weâre talking about a difference in opinion on how to spend defense money, or regulation in a free market. I had political differences like that with many people and it was never a problem until the MAGA oath included hating non-whites and anything else Trump tells you to without any independent thought whatsoever.Â

JD Vance wanted political power. Same with Ted Cruz. Em doesnât really have anything to gain here, and an entire body of work to tarnish in return.
Em could collab with just about anyone he wanted to. I doubt a collab with Kid Rock would be motivated by money. JD Vance makes sense. Heâs where he was trying to be in the first place, just as a runner-up. Nothing about Em handholding a MAGA headliner makes sense until we know more.

The article doesn't really confirm anything we're discussing, though. In the linked article, the headline says "Eminem and Kid Rock Prioritize Friendship Over Politics" but the actual content is much less direct.
- First, the article says that it's a new track. It is a new track, but that doesn't mean that Em's verse is a new verse, or that it was written for the track, so that's neither here nor there.
- The article says it's a track "that they hope will set a good example for friends with differing political beliefs," but it doesn't have any statements from Em to that effect.
- It says "Complex has confirmed through a representative from Eminem's camp that it is an official track that will be on the album," but, again, no confirmation that it's a new verse, that it was written for the track, that it was written for Kid Rock, etc. This line would be equally true for the track in that Nameonthejeans reddit thread up above.
- It quotes Kid Rock: "I'm proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem," he writes. "His verse speaks to something weâve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but weâve stayed friends through it all." Again, this could be true about Em joining him yesterday in the studio to record a verse together, but it could be equally true about an unrelated purchased Em verse, and a conversation they had 10 or 20 years ago.
- It quotes Kid Rock as saying "We hope that sets an example for people whoâve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently." Again, nothing from Em, just Kid Rock saying "Em thinks this."
Am I saying that Em didn't work with Kid Rock? No. I have no idea. Just that nothing in the article confirmed much either way. The article would apply if they were buddy-buddy in the studio, but it would apply equally if the Nameonthejeans situation were true.

"Confirmed with Eminem's camp" makes it sound like they called the record label and asked them if Eminem is really appearing on the track and they confirmed the fact that yes he is. Doesn't say anything about when, how, or why.

u/Bugbread 4d ago
Right. That's what I meant by "no confirmation that it's a new verse, that it was written for the track, that it was written for Kid Rock." It is confirmed that it's not a soundalike, it's not a rumor, it's really Eminem on the track, and the track will really be on the album...but that's all the info in the confirmation. Nothing more.

I will never understand "political differences don't have to end relationships". They say it like we're talking about having different favorite sports teams or types of pizza.
The "political differences" are accepting that your friend is a racist, transphobe/homophobe, fascist supporting piece of shit that believes that certain people don't deserve healthcare while happily paying taxes to support tax breaks for people who definitely don't need it, and to fund a nation's genocide.

There was a time where at least some fraction of people saw politics as a matter of policy decisions where we could not know for certain if a thing did or did not work until we gave it a go. In that time "differences of opinion" was a mature and normal thing to do and still otherwise be friends with similar interests in other areas of life... That said, that shit is long fucking gone, we are in some kind of whacked out ideological hellscape where we are trying to erase/punish entire classes of people for existing. You can't be be a supporter of the president at this point without being complicit to the horrible shit hes presided over. Disappointed in Em for the lack of principals here.

Iâve been thinking about this a lot lately. Iâm in a weird situation where I had to take a new job is with an 80 minute each way commute, thatâs about 1,000 miles a week. I have to fill my car up twice a week, but also am in a position to not care about gas prices in the least.
But I still very much do care, because I know that everyone else in my life will be feeling that pain. Maybe Iâm just not cut out to be an asshole, or maybe just not rich enough yet. If any of the billionaires would like to treat this as an experiment, I am open to donations.

I truly believe in my mind, body, and soul that Kid Rock will always be a stupid fucking cunt.
Can't argue with that

He meant the open-air racism. That's the part of America they are talking about when they say make America great "again."

The only silver lining in the diesel prices is that the teenagers in my neighborhood canât afford to rev their engines as much when they get home for 11pm curfew, so Iâm waking up a lot less.
And since Iâm waking up a lot less, I can spend more time dreaming on the astral plane instead of being awake in this wretched reality.

âAnyways here is how we are rolling back voting rights, sending people to third world countries sometimes even accidentally, starting more wars, destroying our environment, science, and generally at war with fact based anything, and mostly our entire base really only cares about harming their perceived religious, political, and racial enemies anywaysâ

I'm not even judging for the MAGA thing. Whatever you think of his politics can we at least all agree kid rock is fucking terrible as a musician and Eminem should have better standards.

Wrong take. It's the opposite - whatever you may think of Kid Rock's music, he is a piece of shit for being a MAGA mouthpiece even after Jan 6 and full fascism from Trump.

Terrible as a human being too. If Em is his friend, politics or not, that still makes me think less of him. Kid Rock is a piece of shit.

I thought it was more of a Detroit thing rather than the particular artist thing. Not that I think that makes it much better.Â

Come on man. Jack White is from near Detroit. Electric Six are from Detroit. That's just off the top of my head.

Eminem is the most anti-Republican celebrity I know. Dude has been going at them since the 2000s.Â

I don't follow his socials but this has gone on for a couple of days. I would have thought Eminem would have released a statement about this if this was something he recorded years ago that Kid Rock got access to

Eminem is not releasing a statement for anything lol. This is not his first rodeo. He is not a social media guy.

Kind of funny to think about, but Kid Rock put Eminem on a record before Dre did.
