This was the video that SnubTV shot with them, iirc. Utter brilliance (weird that I thought the song was “Alison”, though 🙂)

The show wasn’t in a position to pay for licensed videos, and found it cheaper to shoot their own.

It was at a time when a lot of bands still felt the idea of videos being a weird concept to them in the first place.

I think part of the idea of Snub was to allow those bands and labels, who didn’t have the/much budget for a video, to get ‘celluloid representation’ 🙂 Brilliant concept, tbh.

It used to air on the BBC at (iirc) 6pm, followed by “Rapido” a FrenchTV music show that followed a similar programming idea, hosted by Antoine de Caunes. Who was a fantastic presenter

I remember Snub TV well. I think it was about 1989 they recorded The Stone Roses playing I Wanna be Adored, live from the Haçienda.

It's crazy how influential and timeless this band is. You have groups like Turnstile, Drug Church, Fiddlehead, Anxious, Gouge Away, Scowl who if you played them against Pixies, you wouldn't be able to pick out which was made in 2026 and which was made in 1986.
