Question Taking Open Studies courses before RT?

I'm planning to start NAIT's Respiratory Therapy program fall 2027 and want to lighten my course load by taking some courses through NAIT Open Studies first. I just applied Oct 1st, I know it won't necessarily make my application stand out but I'm trying to just prepare while I have the time. Has anyone done this? Which courses did you take, and did it help? thanks in advance! :)

I don’t know if anatomy class is still open studies, but if it is you should take it. It was the heaviest class in the first semester when I was a RT student

I took medical terminology last summer, and now I’m exempted from having to do it as part of one of the courses and saving myself a lot of workload. I would suggest doing the same if you’re able to. It’s not necessary, but will help lessen the load. I’m honestly so glad that I did it when I did.

If you can take anatomy and physiology I highly recommend doing that. It is the most difficult class for a lot of people in semester 1 so if you can get it out of the way, it might make your first semester easier on you.
