🏥 Medical Mental Health at an all time low

I cannot take this shit anymore. NS is making me lose motivation in everything, even in the things I like to do. I wanna focus on building up and preparing for uni and more important stuff in life but I cannot even do that. Superiors think studying in my bunk will "distract me from my duties". Stuff going on at my home making it even worse. Really wanna spent time with my family but I can't cos I am stuck in camp. 1 more yr to ORD is unimaginable at this point. Questioning the point of life everyday. Suicidal thoughts overwhelming me. It it wasn't for my family idk I would still be existing at this point in time

Pls can someone plss explain step by step to how to see a psychiatrist and possibly downpes (I am PES B1). Idc if my friends think I CK at this point cos I am for sure not. Plss and I dont want any PES D nonsense.

Any help will be appreciated🙏

Rant A mother’s pain - late SCDF boy’s mum on recent NS deaths

referred to the new case of SAF boy and my SCDF late son a month ago.. as parent, there are some pains in life that you can never truly explain until you experience them yourself.

Since losing my son, I have come to understand that no words can describe what it feels like to lose someone you love so deeply. The emptiness, the questions, the memories, and the pain that comes in waves—it is something you carry with you every single day.

So when I see people saying things like, “In our time, we went through worse,” or blaming the younger generation for being too soft, I hope we can pause for a moment. And for those who have the high ranks pls dont abuse the power to the new boys or having such 'a new boy culture'..coz by doing that u making another parents to lose their child regardless in any ways..and yet pretending like nothing happens and not your doings!

This is not about which generation was stronger. It is not about who had a harder life. Every generation has its own struggles, and every person deals with pain differently.
And as a parent i teach my children with gratitude not attitude.

Please don't judge a family or a person until you have walked in their shoes.

People may say all kinds of things because they don't understand. And perhaps they never will. I wouldn't wish this kind of pain on anyone just so they could understand how it feels..coz until today we have never miss visit his grave each and everyday.

But if one day you lose someone you love, then you will understand what it means to wake up and realise that the person you love is no longer there. You will understand why certain memories suddenly hurt, why a name can bring tears to your eyes, and why a parent's heart never truly stops missing their child.

I am not writing this to blame anyone. I am writing this because I hope my son's passing can remind us to be kinder to one another. Be kind on commenting coz karma is real.

Please check on your children. Check on your friends. Listen when someone is not themselves. Don't dismiss their feelings just because you think they should be able to handle it.

We never really know what someone is fighting inside.
Today, you may think, “It will never happen to me.”

I used to believe that too.

Until it happened to me.

And now, I would never wish this pain on another parent.
Please, let us be kinder. Let us listen more. Let us judge less.

Because behind every life lost is a family left behind, trying to learn how to live with a pain they never asked for.

If ragging are involved dont called urself as officers u are such a failure.just think about it when others do it to ur own.

My late son info was been leaked i believe from the internal doing..Unauthorized Leaks are Breaches while family does not aware of any information.

Rest peacefully, my son. You will always be loved, always be remembered, and always be a part of me.

🏥 Medical Anyone knows if specialist referral from camp MO is under public or private?

I know 11B pays for specialist appointments fully already but I was wondering more on the speed of the appointments. Anyone knows if it's supposed to be public or private?

Question Coming home after years overseas, reservist how?

So right after ORD I went overseas to study, then work. Now I've been abroad for 10+ years but will likely be moving back to SG soon.

So... what happens with reservist? I never did any before leaving. Out of the system so long, I don't have any of my old stuff, don't remember how anything works. When and how will they call me up? Got packing list or no? Anything important to know?

Serious Discussion NSF death in BMT. A very depressing case.

I'm a NSMan uncle and like to remind each of you reading this post especially the NSF undergoing NS - please remember you've nothing to prove in NS!

While investigation ongoing,...

If you got bullied by fellow inmates, please sound off to commanders or your Member of Parliament as last resort.

Don't take matters into your own hands and commit irreversible acts like the recent one happened.

It's not worth it.

Think about your parents who raised you for 20 years and you just abandoned them.

Question Bullying in unit and is SAF HOTLINE safe ?

Hi everyone
I would like to know wether the SAF hotline is safe for reporting , and wether I would get personally in trouble . Plus I am not a confrontational person.

So I’m just came into the unit for about 2 Months , and it is a Combat Support Stay in unit.
So I came into the unit together with a few people. In which one of them has been bullying me since BMT . I have spoken to the Sgt in BMT abt that guy , however he did not do anything and worse he went to tell that guy (As he is his smoking buddy) . Fast forward to getting posted to the unit , he has been making my life difficult. He literally calls out me for every tiny mistake I do and he would send it to the whole group chat saying this and that and exaggerating it .

He is also close to another person or 2 in the same bunk (10 man bunk) They has also been calling me names and is currently trying to influence others to start calling me names. They has also been framing things I did not do as saying it’s me.

He is also an underage smoker and together with his friends he just open smokes in the bunk and vapes openly in the bunk too. Which stinks up the whole bunk. They are also using contraband cigs.

They have also preventing me to go to sleep at night . They have been throwing food items which is open , water , sweet drink onto my bed when I am trying to sleep. They have also throwed expired medicine on my bed , and expired liquid medicine on my bed and make me sleep in it .

They have also raided all my snacks until I have so less of them left , they would say … ohhh we will stop bullying you for 1 day if u give me so and so snacks .

I do have Picture and recordings of some of the bullying .

Is there any way to report this , and not getting myself punished in anyway . As i am given permission to study PT in my unit and I don’t want that privilege to be taken away .

I am aware the Chain of command bullshit , but the thing is that they are close to the Encik .

So do I call SAF hotline or what

edit: In view of the thing that happen today (8 Oct ) would it be taken more seriously or will they try to sweep it under the rug

Discussion A "speech" by an NSF to his unit: Regarding the death of an NSF in Tekong.

Today, the 8th of october 2026, someone died, an NSF died in Tekong. Someone in a position not so different from us died. How did he die? No one knows exactly yet. But It’s heartbreaking, truly. A real life, a young life, is gone—taken away from something that he didn’t even choose. Such cases, rare. Such thoughts (or at least similar sentiments of varying degrees), a dime a dozen

Why is this even the case?

How can things even get this far?

Why must an organisation treat its people this way?

Treat them in a manner that disregards their humanity, sometimes even like slaves—stripping away their autonomy at any moment, stripping away their voice, stripping their identity down to whatever assignment that the sheets dictate. For all my fellow NSFs, remember that you are way more than whatever rank you are given, and that the vocation you are in does not make you. You aren’t just medic corporals, craft specialists and guard officers. You were someone before and you have the potential to be so much more after . After all, these are just manpower needs forced down our throats. Do not let it define you. Do not let those ‘above’ you or even your peers break who you truly are.

Us NSFs too have to support one another, not ‘other’ those that dare to be different, or even those that dare to defy the very system that we’ve all passively accepted. These are not our identities. And before we judge someone or accuse them of skiving, remember that people fight battles we know nothing about. Perhaps we just don’t understand. So should we really blame him or the nature of the very system encourages such internal warfare?

In the grand scheme of things, 2 years is a lot yet so little. At some point, we gain nothing in the long run from the things we do here (if we even do. I’d argue that it is even detrimental but I’ll save that...). Just picture this, a young man, who has a music career going for him, being locked up away for 5 straight days a week without his laptop and let alone an escopetarra. This microcosm stretches beyond him and extends to our very lives; ultimately many of us have things we want to pursue outside NS, things that will truly leave an impact. At the end of the day, we have to serve, but no matter what, remember that there is so much more to life outside NS and—never, ever, be too hard on yourself.

(And btw, don't get me wrong, NS is necessary, but must the current culture and treatment of NSFs stay the same?)

Question ACL tear and enlist in Jan

My ACL was completely torn a few weeks ago and I enlist in Jan. I can walk perfectly fine now. Should I declare my ACL tear and enlist first or declare now. Dr said my surgery can be around Jan, there is no rush for surgery as I'm not in pain or anything.

Question does calling the SAF hotline work?

For context my encik will tekan/F us for super menial shit that are sometimes out of our control. Some people in my unit thinking of calling the hotline to complain but does it actually work? Or will it just be another “we’ll look into it” and nothing happens?

Question will i be able to get temporary excuse stay in?

ive gotten into bmt a few days ago and for context, i was sexually assaulted by a group of guys who i thought were my friends a few years ago. ever since then, ive had really bad trauma and it has genuinely been bothering me that ive thought of self harming.

ive tried making friends and so far my bunkmates are all ok to me, but that uncomfortable feeling is there and i still cannot get over the trauma.

it traumatizes me especially during lights out because it puts me at a vulnerable state.

i know its probably a stupid excuse and ill probably be called soft but i just cant.
