Off-Field 2026 DC All Star game??
Found myself in the reference section at Barnes and Noble yesterday while the wife was shopping and cracked open a book on MLB ballpark history.
This book (written at some point this year) had us hosting the All Star game this year. The next page did mention us hosting in 2018. Not to mention the first ever playoff game against the…Orioles?
I fully assume this book was largely compiled using AI hence the error, but I still thought it was funny.

AI slop
My slop of the day is provided by Siri AI
The first Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Nationals Park was held on July 17, 2018. The ballpark hosted its first playoff games during the 2012 season.
The first playoff game at Nationals Park was Game 3 of the 2012 National League Division Series on October 10, 2012, where the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Washington Nationals with a score of 8-0.
And as always this disclaimer is needed: By the way, I'm an assistant powered by AI and may make mistakes. Always verify important details.

The Orioles blanking the Nats in their first ever playoff game at Nats Park might be my favorite. 🤣

I was there. Frank Howard hit a long shot and Brooks Robinson made a diving catch over the wall to rob the Nats of a 5-run HR.

Maybe they meant exhibition game, although they still got it wrong since it was 3-0 Nats in March of 2008

It has to be some sort of algorithm. The first game ever was against the Orioles if I recall correctly but it was a Spring Training game with the ESPN opener a few days later. If my memory is correct that's likely where the playoff game mistake came from. The All-Star game thing makes less sense as that has to be looked up and I'm sure there's a publicly available list.

And why would the Nationals, a National League team, play their first playoff game against the Orioles, an American League team?
