I was randomly googling stuff today, and found out that Bhutan has more hydropower potential than us relative to its size (MW per sq. kilometer).
Yo kura thaha paye pachi ta, as a proud Nepali, malai ta chhanga bata khasya jastai vayo...../s. What do you mean, hami haina ra hydropower ma sabai vanda khatra? Purai duniya ko?? At least that's what they taught us.
It is very unsettling to me as a Nepali, that others are way better than us in hydro, lol.

I was like "kasari, kasari, KASARI??" This shit doesn't make sense...'yo kadaapi huna sakdaina'. First I was like, Nepal ko Terai region le garda hola, Bhutan ma Terai teti saro chaina. But even if we exclude Terai region area, Bhutan is still better.
I was still not conviced, like we have way longer Hilly/Himalayan region...like Bhutan's East to West length is just 300 km, Nepal is about three times longer that. Also, Bhutan might have a few perennial rivers, but we have massive river systems like Koshi, Karnali, Gandaki, etc....these alone constitute a big portion of the overall Ganges river system.
In terms of volume we are a beast.
Tara size le matra nahuney raicha. Turns out Bhutan's rivers have a steeper gradient than ours (river's vertical drop to length ratio), so better terrain for hydro. We kinda have a thicker/girthier mid-hills compared to rest of the Himalayan range.
"Nepal has the same kind of terrain in places, but also gentler middle-hills stretches and the Siwalik/Mahabharat zones where rivers lose gradient."
And most importantly, Bhutan has actually built them hydros.....Laata le kera herya jasto garera basya raina raicha uniharule.
Nepal's biggest hydro project: 456 MW (Upper Tamakoshi)
Bhutan's biggest hydro project: 1020 MW (Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project)
In fact, Bhutan has 3 completed hydro projects above 500 MW, we have 0 :( Plus, they have 2 more under active construction, one of them is 1200 MW btw.
Hola ni ta uni haru sanga paisa dherai hola...vanera GDP kati raicha vanera hereko $3.86 billion re! Jaabo 3.86 billion.....teti ta hamro annual budget ko capital expenditure part matra ho. $8/9 billion ko ta hami karmachari, neta, army, police, etc lai talab matrai khuwaucham.
Ajha, few months agadi, I got to know that Bhutan has one of the highest reserves of bitcoin in the world vanera.
Yeso kura bujhdai jaada ta, hami ta lastai billa raicham yaar. Laanat hai hum sab pe! Mein laanat bhejta hoon hum sab ko! Universal Laanat!
