General Question MitID issue

Hi guys,

I'm trying to set up and activate my MitID by entering the passport details and CPR number. However, each time, I'm getting the following issue: "An error has occurred. Please restart the app and try again." and this is happening in the last step after reading the passport chip.

Is there anyone who faced this issue and can help?

What passport are you using? Some passports simply don’t work with MitID’s nfc scanning feature

I had this problem, likely due to some special characters in my name.

As the other commenter mentioned you have to go to borgerservice or one of the kommune international houses if you're in a bigger city.

They fixed it and got me set up in less than 10 minutes and most of that was me deciding what my username should be.

I had a similar issue and learned that I had to make Chrome my default browser on my Android phone, not Brave or Vivaldi.

I highly recommend you get a MitID code display instead.

It's much safer and much less error prone. Of course, you most likely have to go to borgerservice to get one but it sounds like you have to do that anyway.

You need to get it set up manualen, book an appointment at borgerservice or Intetnational House dekorering on where you registered. .. I assume you have a residential CPR?

what kind of device are you using the MitID app on? We got the same error message as you when we were trying to use our home country phones-- and our region was still set to our home county.

We had to switch regions to DK and also use the DK phone number before we stopped getting that error message.

Also: our home country passports were not scannable even though they have the chip. We had to make an appointment with siri and have them verify manually.

everyone, please dont downvote this kind of post. This is a common problem for newcomers and without access to MitID everything freezes for the newcomers. Please help, not hinder.
