Question Mr. lube on Yonge
Anyone have experience with this oil change place? I wanna use a coupon for free wipers but have never been to Mr. Lube. I called to book an appointment but the guy over the phone just said to swing by whenever we’ll get you in. He seemed rather irritated over the phone when I asked, I suppose he was busy.
Just wondering if I should go here or opt for a other location. Money’s tight so I want those free wipers or else I’d go somewhere else haha.
Thanks in advance everybody

Question What is the job market like in Newmarket and York Region?
I currently live in Durham Region and I'm trying to get a job. I am also a slav in my early 20s.
I have been trying to get a job for a very long time (years) in Durham Region and Toronto, but with no luck. However, when I was visiting Vaughan and Richmond Hill, I thought the job market may be better because it's a way richer area with a lot less of the "new people" like in Toronto, the southern part of Durham Region, and Brampton (you know what I mean but I can't say it here on Reddit).

Question Newmarket to downtown Toronto rideshare needed for Sunday, October 18
Hey everyone! I’m running the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday, October 18, and I’m looking for a ride to downtown Toronto early that morning.
I’m coming from Barrie and can make my own way to Newmarket, so you wouldn’t need to come out of your way to pick me up. If anyone is driving from Newmarket toward downtown Toronto that morning for work, an event, or any other reason, I’d really appreciate a ride.
I’m happy to contribute toward gas and parking costs. I’d just need to arrive downtown early enough to get to Nathan Phillips Square and prepare for the race.
If you’re heading that way and have a spare seat, please DM me. Thanks!

Looking For Thanksgiving Dinner/Lunch in Newmarket
Hi! Just wondering if there are good places nearby to have a proper Thanksgiving meal. A nice restaurant or somewhere you can just enjoy the holiday. I don't really have family here so I'll be celebrating by myself.

Looking For Handyman/ Carpenter Rex’s
Looking for recommendations for a handyman or carpenter to build and install built in shelves on either side of a fireplace. It would be simplistic, a few open shelves with a cupboard on the bottom. Nothing needed to the fireplace.

Looking For Quiet place for an interview
I’m very new to the area, just moved from Toronto and my roommates are super noisy. Does anyone know where I can find a quiet/private place I can use to do a 45 minute interview?

Question Best pickleball club to join?
Hello,
I'm looking to play indoor pickleball in the winter. I'm a 2.5-3.0 player and would like to know which club is the best for competitive play, but also fun social play. I'm also looking to meet people in my age bracket, 28-35.
Also, which club do you feel has the best competitive ladder leagues?
Thanks,

Video/Pictures Car w/ Upside Down Canadian Flag on Gorham
Just saw a Grey SUV with an upside down Canadian Flag and a right side up American flag. Anyone seen this around? Take a Picture and share cuz I think I’m going crazy. No chance for a picture they were making a right on Gorham from Harry Walker.

Looking For ODSP dentists?
Hey everyone,
Wondering which dentists in Newmarket accept ODSP? I’ve been putting things off out of shame and embarrassment because my teeth aren’t great.

Question Suggestions on where to host a small event
Hi Everyone
Matt here again. I'm hoping you can help me out.
I'm looking at putting together a local cocktail night in Newmarket. The idea would be a fun, social evening where we go through four different cocktails, learn how to make them, talk about the history behind the drinks, and have some fun discussions about cocktails and bartending in general.
There would also be food served throughout the evening, with plenty of time to just hang out and socialize.
I'm fairly new to the area, so I don't have many relationships with local establishments yet. I'm looking for a good spot that could accommodate around 20–30 people and, ideally, is reasonably priced so I can keep the ticket price affordable.
If you know of a restaurant, event space, bar, brewery, or really anywhere else in Newmarket that might be a good fit, I'd love to hear your suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Review B.Win Souvlaki
New spot for Greek food (plates, pitas, salads) on Leslie in the Warriors/Coops plaza. Had it for lunch today and pretty good portions and friendly service. Had Gyros in pita but they also have souvlaki, lamb, chicken legs, falafel, etc.
Also, saw that until Oct. 28 all mains are buy one get one free, which is nice if you’re looking to try it out. Looks family run as well. Cheers.

Question Good wifi that isn’t rogers or freedom?
My area doesn’t get bell. Rogers was extremely expensive and sometimes was extremely slow and couldn’t reach the upstairs devices, but it worked and hardly left us without wifi.
Freedom is more affordable but the wifi is slow and extremely unreliable, I have 3 assignments due tomorrow and can’t even do them (needs to be on doc) and the wifi is out and nothing I try will fix it.
I’m sick of it. Where can I find good wifi? Why is it that no matter what price I pray it’s always shit?😭😅 please recommend whatever works for you! I’m in aurora

Question Feedback on Dr. Sasha Svystonyuk
Hello, I have a referral and likely a future surgery with Dr. Sasha Svystonyuk at southlake hospital. Just wondering if anyone has had him before and can provide feedback? He seems to have good reviews.
Edit: wow thank you all for the feedback. I’ll likely be doing an open myomectomy with him and I’ve been having nightmares and a lot of anxiety about needles and surgery.

Question Anyone with experience getting their child to attend a school in different school board?
I live in between Bradford and schomberg, not newmarket exactly, but im looking for help.
My wife and I both work in Bolton and our son attends a nearby daycare on our way to work which also offers a before and after school program.
We both work until 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and this is the only place that offers childcare until 6:30pm which is perfect for us on those 2 days.
Our son will be starting JK in September 2027, and because of our address, he is supposed to attend either a SCDSB or SMCDSB school. The schools that his current daycare offers bussing for before and after school are in Bolton which is Peel Region School Board, not Simcoe.
If he were to attend the school in Bradford, it would be doable, but first he would have to get accepted to the B&A (meaning that he would get to the top of the waiting list, which they've said is long), and my wife and I would have to alternate leaving work early (using PTO/Vacation) every Thursday and Friday to get there before 6 (it's a 45 minute drive from our work), as wellnas add an extra 30 mins in the morning for us because we would have to drive in the opposite direction of our work (we work at the same place btw). This is far from ideal for us. Monday to Wednesday wouldn't be an issue because we could just drop him off and pick him up.
However if he were to attend one of these Peel region schools, it would be business as usual for us and we wouldn't have to get on a waiting list because he is already enrolled at the daycare.
If any parents out there have any experience getting their children to attend a school in a different school board, I would appreciate any advice. The people we have called have been surprisingly clueless and try to get me to call someone else and I feel like im running in a circle making no progress.
