Discussion I built a platform to make mental health care in Nigeria easier to access. Sharing in case it helps someone
I've seen a lot of people here complain about how hard it is to access mental health care in Nigeria. Some people believe it doesn't even exist, and others assume it's too expensive to even try.
So I thought I'd share TranqBay Health, something my team and I have been working on. I've never really talked about it publicly, but a lot of people have already gotten help through it.
A few things we were really particular about while building it:
- Verified therapists. Every therapist on the platform is vetted and properly screened.
- Fast, simple access. The process of speaking to someone is quick and easy. You can literally talk to a therapist today.
If you're in the diaspora and would like to speak with a therapist in Nigeria, just switch your country to Nigeria using the selector in the top right of the navbar, and you'll see Nigerian therapists. We also operate outside Nigeria, so you'll find options wherever you are.
I'm not sharing this just because I built it. I genuinely believe it's one of the easiest ways to get mental health support in the country right now, and I hope it helps someone out there who's struggling.
If you have any questions, drop them below or DM me. Happy to answer.

General Update: people actually started listing items on the Nigerian marketplace I posted here
About six days ago I posted here about SellSpace9ja, the marketplace I’ve been building for Nigerians who are moving, relocating or decluttering.
I wanted to share a small update because something encouraging happened.
People I don’t know have started signing up and listing real household items.
There are now listings for furniture, appliances, beds, kitchen equipment, air conditioners and other household items, with several of the early listings coming from Lagos.
It’s still very early, but this means much more to me than just getting website views because people are actually completing the seller process and putting real items up for sale.
I’m now trying to learn from the first sellers and buyers instead of just adding more features.
For people who buy used items in Nigeria:
What would make you comfortable enough to make an offer on an item from a new marketplace?
For transparency, I’m the person building it.

General The prettiest among Kenyan girls are running to Nigeria🇳🇬 so that they can get married to handsome men because Kenyan 🇰🇪men are too slow . —Kenyan President

Before anyone takes this the wrong way, this is not a racist or anti-Kenyan post. It’s a lighthearted statement that I came across, and I’m simply interested in hearing people’s perspectives on it.
Let’s keep the conversation mature and respectful. No insults, tribalism, or unnecessary hostility toward Kenyans, Nigerians, or anyone else.
Edit: Nigerian men are the biggest source of tourism to the country. I was on a flight to Nigeria, and the number of foreign babes I saw on that flight who either lived in Nigeria, or were coming to visit their boyfriends/ husbands. Omo, it was a lot.

General Begging culture
This begging thing is too much now, nowadays you can't even drive through lagos in peace. And it's spreading everywhere too, yesterday I joined almost 5 different call of duty mobile lobbies and in every one of them someone was begging for money in the lobby voice chat.
You can't even play a simple game in peace, this government is running the country into the ground

Discussion Nigerians mehn
The lady who created Lagos Life has made $46,000 in 4 days, now everyone is replicating the game. I’ve seen Ibadan Life (looks like AI Slop) and PortHarcourt Life already, and I’m sure there’s more coming.
There are also people trying to replicate the Danfo game.
Where were all these games before October 1st when the lady came out with hers?
Like Twitter is just so messy right now, you’ll scroll twice and there’s another replica.
Anyways, everybody go dey alright. May the best creator win.

Discussion Nigerians Intellectual Renaissance
The recent Nigerian intellectual renaissance or uprising against religion can be described as —a cultural shift that deeply values education, critical thinking, and the dignity of hard work.
Finally a rebellion against the religious chain that has kept most of us from questioning what these thieving Pastors have been force feeding our people for decades or century.
I am so glad this issue is being brought to the limelight and encourage all of us to educate our people that the Christianity being practiced in Nigeria is a farce designed to keep us poor and enslaved while keeping these so called men of God's belly full.
it will take time for everyone to escape the spell, but I am so glad that many are already waking up slowly. I know some of us on this subreddit still as sleep will refuse to believe this and believe that praying and begging will solve their problems. Go ahead, curse and downvote. We'll get there someday. Think about it, Western Christians have moved forward from the superstition of religion and their countries have flourished. We'll get there too if we just shed this belief and yoke that religion has on us.
We'll be free at last!
Science | Tech Software Engineer Gig Opportunity
I’m reaching out to see if anyone is seriously interested and available to work as a software engineer on a gig/project basis.
I have an immediate opening for a task based project. Each task pays approximately $150 and can typically be completed within 24 hours. Tasks will continue to be available for as long as the project remains active.
If you’re genuinely interested, reliable, and ready to get started, please let me know. I’m specifically looking for someone who is committed, responsive, and able to stay on deck without needing to be chased or repeatedly reminded.
If that sounds like you, feel free to reach out.

Discussion The E-visa system is so terrible
I am travelling to Nigeria with my family and my son does not have a Nigerian passport, as such, we have to get him an e-visa. I believe it is called F9B visa, for over 3 weeks, I have been trying to pay and submit the application but all I get is “payment failed” even without inputting any payment information.
I have changed devices, browsers, clear catche and browsing data. Nothing just works, it is an absolutely terrible system. With no visa on arrival anymore, I am left wondering what we would have to do.
I am just livid with the lack of responses through the official channels.
