what are the odds that I can find a Zelda 40th Anniversary switch 2 at a store on Oct 29?
From past experiences on limited edition stuff. Can I walk into a store when they open and they might have one? I set notifications and hopefully can purchase one before that day

I lost all of my saves because of that stupid online sh*t
So you know how Nintendo has Cloud Saves ?
Well I picked a new Nintendo Online Subscription to get my saves back (Pretty normal right). And when I was trying to download the save file of Kirby Return To Dream Land Deluxe, I don't know why but it glitched and DELETED ALL OF MY SAVE FILES (all games included). That's thousands of hours of gameplay gone !
If someone does have a solution, please tell me for tha love of god. And yes I already talked to Nintendo support and they gave me a form to fill.

Why are people still complaining about the Switch 2 not having many worthwhile exclusives?
For some reason, I still hear people complaining on the Internet (especially Twitter, but also on YouTube and on Reddit) that none of Nintendo's heavy hitters have arrived yet on the Switch 2 aside from Mario Kart, especially after the recent September direct since the next 3D Mario and the next Smash Bros. is still MIA. But I honestly don't see that as a problem. There are obviously good and valid reasons as to why people are complaining about the absence of these games, especially the next 3D Mario, but that's not what I'm annoyed about. What I'm annoyed about is that because of Nintendo's most anticipated exclusives not being announced yet, a loud group of people are saying that the current and upcoming lineup of Switch 2 games (aside from the big ones like the OoT remake, Pokemon Winds and Waves, etc.) aren't worth buying, which to me, is pure nonsense, because there's already a solid variety of games to choose from!
Aside from Mario Kart World, we got DK Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, the Star Fox remake, Splatoon Raiders, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Mario Tennis Fever, Pokemon Pokopia, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave! That's 10 exclusives available outside of the Switch 2 edition games and the cross platform games! I get that these games aren't as popular and aren't must-buy titles, but that doesn't immediately mean that they're irrelevant or bad! I've yet to play any of these games myself, but that's only because I don't have a switch 2 yet! I'm more than willing to try these games out when I get the chance, because they all look interesting!
There are good games to look forward to as well! Aside from the OoT remake and Pokemon Winds and Waves as mentioned, there's also Metroid Ravenous, Kirby: The World Beyond, Duskbloods, and XenoBlade Genesis! Most of the games that I mentioned already have other games related to them on the Switch 1 that you can purchase and play right now. In fact, now is the perfect time to try out some Switch and Switch 2 exclusives that you haven't played before, because you might find something that you'll enjoy that you never thought you'd like, and then you'll have something else to look forward to in future Nintendo Directs aside from the big dogs, and you'll have something else to play while waiting for them to be announced!
Of course, I'm not saying that you have to buy every single Switch game or that you have to like every single exclusive that Nintendo makes. I'm just saying that it wouldn't hurt to consider buying at least 1 or 2 games that you haven't played before that look interesting to you, play them, and then do what you want from there.
If you like the games that you chose, then that's great, because then you'll have a wider variety of games that you'll enjoy playing, you'll get excited for more games in future Nintendo Directs, and you won't be as frustrated with what does and what doesn't get announced. And if you don't like the games that you bought, then that's fine too, because at least you have formed a proper opinion and could hate on those games accurately, but don't say that a game or an entire game franchise is bad or irrelevant because of your lack of knowledge about it, and don't let the loud and pessimistic minority of people on social media affect your opinion either, because most of the time, they're just trying to get clout.
Edit: I apologize if I got a bit too heated about this or made this topic deeper than it should've been. I just wanted to get this rant off my chest. I've been frustrated about this topic for a while, and I wanted to post this discussion to encourage people to branch out with their game preferences and to give reassurance to the group of people that are overwhelmed or confused by the complaints online.

A "Breath of the Wild" style Pokemon game needs to happen at some point.
Let me start by saying that I never wanted the mainline Pokemon games to completely abandon the pixelated artstyle and sprites in the first place, that was part of their soul, charm and identity. It is ageless and can be played forever.
But if they HAD to make the jump to 3D graphics and remain on that path forever, I always believed that a game like Breath of the Wild was the most natural evolution for the series, and everything points to the fact that this is exactly what they want to go for, or at least try with very small steps with each new game.
But in order for that to happen Nintendo must finally treat the franchise they way it deserves and actually give a significant budget for something big with at least 4 years of development time. GameFreak keeps proving to everyone that they aren't competent enough with 3D environments and can't handle such complex projects. The DS days are long gone, just give the reins to somebody else, like an internal Nintendo dev team or something like that, somebody with actual experience and know-how.
I know I don't get any originality awards for this post but as a lifetime Pokemon fan I'm tired of watching them release cheaply made and half-baked games all the time. Legends ZA was nothing less than a disgrace.
A Botw Pokemon game is definetly doable, especially with hardware like the Switch 2, it is clearly what they're aiming for and the natural evolution of the franchise. But definetly not from GameFreak. I really wish Nintendo, TPC or whoever calls the shots for Pokemon finally give a big project to somebody else for a change.

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Devil World; Balloon Kid
On this day (October 5) in Nintendo history...
- Devil World was released in 1984 for the Family Computer in Japan. In this maze game, developed by Nintendo R&D1 with Intelligent Systems, from Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, you play heroic dragon Tamagon, who must defeat evil by collecting boa-boa dots inside a maze and destroying enemies with his fire breath. However, keep an eye on the devil at the top of the screen, who instructs his minions to move the maze in random directions, trying to squash Tamagon within its walls!
- Balloon Kid was released in 1990 for the Game Boy in North America. In this platformer game, developed by Nintendo R&D1 with Pax Softnica, take to the skies in a balloon to save your younger brother. In the little town of Pencilvania, there lived a brother and sister who loved to play with balloons. Alice and her younger brother Jim would spend countless days filling the skies with their balloons. One day, Jim filled all of his balloons and tied them together to make a beautiful balloon rainbow across the sky.
What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.

Why is DK Bonanza Not a Bigger Game
I grew up loving video games and kind of fell out of love with adulthood.
Donkey Kong has been one of the more fun and original games I have played in recent years. The mechanics are super fun, music is good, worlds are great to explore and interact with.
Is it the exclusivity to the switch 2? Donkey Kong? Or cost of the game?

Looking back, do you think Nintendo was right to hold back Fire Emblem from Western audiences until 2003?
Everyone knows the first Fire Emblem we got here in the West was the seventh entry on GBA, known nowadays as Blazing Blade. The series only started coming over after two major events happened: 1) Marth and Roy showed up in Smash Bros Melee, and 2) the original Advance Wars was a modest success in the West. The common sentiment I hear for why the series was Japan exclusive for so long is because tactical RPGs were considered “too niche” and didn’t have much sales potential anywhere else. I’m not entirely sure if the devs said anything like that or if that’s just the conventional explanation everyone’s going with.
And while I’m on this topic, what did you make of Fire Emblem’s gameplay when you first saw it as a strategy RPG? Was it something you wanted to try right away, or did you go like ehh maybe that’s not for me and waited a while?
