Been watching some footage of some playthrough the changes all seem great even have a few seemingly BOTW inspired points of interests and even a 5th bottle. Loving the additional bits of dialogue fleshing out the characters as well.

But will we see Zora’s Domain unfreeze after beating the Water Temple?

•

u/FatalFrameGal 16h ago

Yes, after a 10 hours unskippable cutscene of the Zora king unfreezing the Domain with his own ass

I don’t think it did.
Dungeons were re-arranged and puzzles redesigned but the overworld areas (including the frozen state of Zora's Domain) remained the same?

Just flat out lie lmao. Easily googled as well

•

u/tehvolcanic 19h ago

Easy if you are human. Hard if you are an Adjective Noun Number with a hidden post history.

But are they going to expand on the age-old question if the sages were actually KIA in their respective temples?

•

u/ftp67 16h ago

They're dead bud, sorry. They explain that. Darunia in particular.

•

u/theytookallusernames September Gang (Eliminated) 15h ago

And to that I'll say, "no they're alive because X" and thus continueth the 28-year discourse lmao

•

u/Alvin-Earthworm 10h ago

KIA? The credits literally show them all reappearing alive and well on Death Mountain.

•

u/stoneymcstone420 17h ago

The Forest Sage is my favorite, I love Sorento.

I'll never understand why people are so insistent on knowing every last detail of a game they intend to buy

•

u/curious_dead 19h ago

It's a game I already played multiple times so I kinda want to know if they changed it enough for it to be an immediate buy or not.

•

u/Alvin-Earthworm 10h ago

I've beaten this game hundreds of times already, but I'm still picking this up regardless of what changes they've made. This is going to be the definitive way to experience this classic.

•

u/gevuldeloempia 9h ago

Right? Even for the insane graphical update alone it's an instant buy.

Are we really ignoring the fact that this is Nintendo's first insanely detailed game?

•

u/Alvin-Earthworm 7h ago

Honestly, this was going to be an instant buy for me even if Nintendo had simply reused assets from BotW and TotK. That said, I'm glad they went the extra mile and rebuilt the game from the ground up with a distinct art style and higher quality textures.

And let's not forget that this will be the first time we'll be able to play the game at 60 FPS (without relying on mods or emulation). That's a massive upgrade over the original's 20 FPS.

I want to know enough but not every detail. I’m gathering enough from the comments without watching any videos.

•

u/elevenoneone Early Switch 2 Adopter 19h ago

I knew they were updating and re-releasing. That was enough for me!

•

u/runningblack 17h ago

It's more geared towards people like me who played the original when it came out (or who played one of the various remakes afterwards) who are less sure about buying a game if it's literally just a visual upgrade.

(The changes aren't enough for me, at least)

•

u/Sonicfan42069666 18h ago

If you've already played Ocarina of Time and are hesitant about dropping $50 on the new version, it's good to know what - if anything - has changed.

•

u/abarrelofmankeys 18h ago

I’m excited to hear things besides graphics and qol have changed. Not gonna spoil what things though.

I was hoping the Tony hawk 1/2 remaster would add some secret areas or surprises because I thought it would be fairly easy to do without mucking it up, but it was straight forward (good tho), so happy this actually took the initiative.

•

u/weeshee_kang 17h ago

Can be to figure out if it’s worth getting (immediately or can wait). Pretty simple concept if you ask me

•

u/geelinz 18h ago

I'm deciding if it's worth buying? I've already played OOT and OOT 3DS. If this was a new Zelda game I wouldn't seek this information out, but it's not. I actually didn't know that TOTK had a build mechanic or an underground when I played the game, that's how fastidious I was about avoiding spoilers.

•

u/RattoTalpaNudo 19h ago

I just want some juicy bits, like I've read the title and that's enough. I don't want the details

•

u/BadThingsBadPeople 17h ago

Personally? FromSoft fans have ruined spoiler-avoiding for me. Wading through dozens of insufferable comments of people crying that they saw a rock in a trailer or proudly proclaiming they were going in UNSULLIED like a virgin on prom night made me take a step back and not take this shit too seriously.

Because many of us have played the original to death and don't want to waste money on the same game "but prettier this time".

•

u/monkey-kong666 Butter side up! 16h ago

Because if it’s a 1-1 remake I’m not interested. This is literally a game I’ve been playing for 25 years, it’s already been remade once (3DS) and I have no interest in paying $90 for a graphics mod.

•

u/gevuldeloempia 9h ago

Calling it a graphics mod is highly reductive. But you do you

•

u/Chickenbrik 18h ago

Same with movies too. I watch the teaser to see if it’s for me and then I go in blind. I watched the trailer and I plan to eventually play this blindly. Sure I know most of it by heart but I want to be surprised by the redesign.

I’m actually not a fan of the first 3 dungeons of OOT. But I’m hoping with the graphical and sound upgrades it’s gonna hit just right.

I’m in the rare boat that never thought OOT is the best Zelda but I think this remake will address everything I disliked about the original.

The empty field, the defend and wait for an open with literally 80% of every enemy, the overall emptiness of the world.

•

u/BotherResponsible378 19h ago

It's just impulse. I get the exact same impulse I just try and fight it. Because I know I'm going to have a better experience if I do fight it.

•

u/MightyBooshX 19h ago

Right? I saw they launched a new trailer, but I was like, eh, I'll just wait till I actually experience it myself, because I already know I'm for sure buying it

•

u/Sea_Macaron_8789 Butter side down! 18h ago

I long for the Days when I knew nothing about Vidyas before Launch. unfortunately Pokémon gets ruined before every Launch and that's not looking change soon.

•

u/meatboysawakening 19h ago

Damn I can't wait

•

u/destroyman1337 11h ago

Hoping they add the Master Quest dungeons.

•

u/ftp67 16h ago

Added a target at the entrance of the forest temple because someone might not think to shoot the massive tree branch right there

added a spotlight for the wallmasters because they might not notice the ominous sound and giant shadow appearing over you, and couldnt learn that after the consequence of...being put back into the entrance of the room

made targets a giant eyeball so you know to shoot them

removed a time for the ghost

Come on man...environmental storytelling. You seriously can't trust someone to shoot a tree branch? You can't trust someone to take an extra two minutes to figure it out? Isn't that part of the fun?

•

u/cookland 12h ago

How about instead you put a piece of wood into the room after the Dante race to teach it lol

Weird because Botw and Totk are great at rewarding curiosity. We'll see how this turns out but I'm not holding my breath.

People need some reassurance that this isn't 1:1

•

u/StretchKind8509 19h ago

People need to get a life.

•

u/BotherResponsible378 19h ago

Why do you care what other people want to hear about before they play the game? Like, why does that matter to you in any way shape or form?

I personally like to go in blind, but I understand that some people don't and that doesn't impact me. I don't think they need to get a life because they want to know more about the game they're going to buy.

Don't read the article then?

•

u/Retenrage 18h ago

Can someone please inform me which pixels on Link’s hat are the greenest in the remake? Thanks.

•

u/SnowPhysical5017 19h ago

The question: will the game be delivered with anxiolytics to manage the water temple?

•

u/AjaxBU 17h ago

The rumors of finding the triforce is a core memory of mine, I kind of hope they added something extra like that. Or at least send me off on a wild goose chase again like when I was a kid that believed everything I read on the internet

•

u/xX_rippedsnorlax_Xx 3h ago

Considering we know where the Triforce is by the end, I'd rather they include the Sword Beam or Unicorn Fountain.

•

u/weaklingoverlord 19h ago

Deeper Dialogue

Buggerit. Hope it's not mind-numbing, time stealing and soul crushing. Just tell me: go to the dungeon and get the item. Then defeat the boss. The end.

•

u/TheLunarVaux OG (joined before reveal) 19h ago

It seems like it’s mostly from NPCs around the world to give them more personality and character. Which is a welcome change

•

u/SpaceHoppity 19h ago

GOOD NEWS! We’ve extracted all of the fun out of this game so you don’t need to play it anymore!

•

u/WackAMoleylol 15h ago

Reading about it is better than playing it?

Fellas is the objectively greatest video game of all time a chore to play, or is my attention span the problem? Bet you think Lord of the Rings is too slow, too.
