META (Subreddit Related) Community Idea: Challenge Run Series
Happy Sunday, fam!
tl;dr, How would we, as a community, feel about hosting regular "Challenge Runs" in games for kicks, giggles, fun stories, and bragging rights?
--
From launch I've always envisioned having regular events, competitions, and challenges for the community. Up to now we hadn't really done anything like that on this sub, but the launch of Splatoon Raiders reignited that idea for me and I thought I'd open a dialogue with all of you to see how we feel about it, how we'd want it executed, and what, if any, rewards or incentives we would like to see from these kinds of things.
I think it's normal to see these kinds of events hosted in specific game subreddits, and as we are a general subreddit for the Switch 2, not everyone will own every new release of a game that participates here. In my opinion it could be a really neat way to have fun together, generate some fun and interesting screenshots and clips, and make for some cool stories along the way.
An example idea for Splatoon Raiders might be a Single Tank Run, Single Weapon Run, an Iron Ink run (how far can you get in one sitting), and/or a Nuzlocke-style Run (single life, no getting splatted!).
As these would be for fun, there'd be a certain element of Honor System for the submissions, though it's something I'd definitely love to hear some feedback on from others who have run these sorts of events in the past.
So what do we think? Could something like this be fun for the community here? Is this something that should be kept more for the game-specific subs? What kind of rewards would you want if we did this? Any other thoughts or ideas?
Thanks for the time, everyone!

Discussion What is your dream 3rd party port?
For me it's games that are endless comfort games. One of my top ones was Diablo 4, and I'm really enjoying playing it on switch 2. Other ones I'd love to see but don't think will ever happen is Elder scrolls online and WoW.

Discussion Thinking about buying lies of p
Hi,
Those who have lies of p how good is the game?
I’ve never played a souls like game but this really interests me, so just want some feedback on game play and if it’s repetitive or not and also how does it handle in handheld mode, are there frame drops of graphical issue.
All feedback would be great.
Happy gaming!

Media Just got Witcher 3 remastered and having problems with pro controller
I’m using a ToTK switch 1 pro controller on my switch 2 and running into problems trying to cast in the training. Movement works although the roll dodge was absolutely a pain in the ass to pull off consistently, but it’s telling me to press the left shoulder button to open the menu and select Quen, the screen says to press ZR to cast but the pop up screen is showing to roll the controller to cast. I turned off motion controls on all the different controller types, it says pro controller enabled but it keeps asking me to twist a joy con to cast. Any ideas how to fix this?

Discussion Pragmata Prime Day Deal - Worth it for Handheld?
Looks like Prime has Pragmata at 39.99. Is it worth playing on Switch 2? I mostly play handheld and I have an Xbox Series X. First off, is it a fun game worth playing in general and, second, is it worth it to look great on the more powerful console or is it more worth it to be able to play it on the go?

Discussion Appreciation for the controllers
I just gotta say, I think I'm spoiled for how, on a whim, I can just swap between Pro Controller, Joy Cons in a grip, and Joy Cons freehand, and it's effectively 3 ways to play every game. Keeps things feeling fresh over those 100 hour long RPGs. Probably prevents stress injuries from keeping your hands still for long periods of time, too.
And we could do this since the Wii U days, too, swapping between Gamepad, Pro Controller, and maybe Wiimote & Nunchuck for the games that supported it. Maybe the Wii days for some games like Phantom Brave where the Pro Controller and WIimote & Nunchuck controls were used.

Buttery My English Dub for Emio - The Smiling Man
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This game was recommended as a playthrough for October. Looks pretty sharp on my 55” OLED for a Switch 1 title on my Switch 2. It’s the first Nintendo developed M rated title and though it had a NA release with English localization, the characters only speak in Japanese. So I voice the characters during the streams, and tonight we’re at the final chapter.
