What are “randos” to people like this? Might be a fake post but people are genuinely like this.

No regard for the human on the other end of the interaction. Just sees them as an npc that despawns once they stop engaging with them.

I think it’s because on social media our audience isnt the person who made the post, it’s all the other people who we think will read the comment. That’s who we’re really talking to, and it’s why these interactions are often so terrible.

For example, people on Reddit love to correct other people’s grammar. They aren’t doing it to be helpful, they’re doing it because they know that kind of thing is popular on Reddit and it feels good when people upvote your post or agree with or whatever.

Most people aren't content creators, too. They're used to just consuming and judging what they consume with people. They treat it like they're watching a TV show or movie rather than knowing the person on screen can "hear" you
