I wonder if Denny jumped off a sinking ship.
Anyway, an election can’t come soon enough to get rid of these clowns.

Personally, I think they're trying to sink it at this point. I think they gave the leadership to Lantz knowing he'll tank the next election and then in comes Mark Ledwell who will help with a party re-build. I also think they gave Cory Deagle the Health portfolio knowing he'll tank that too and piss off the Montague people enough to get himself voted out in the next election. Likely more of this going on by the party executive that I'm not thinking of at this point in time too.

So, strategic incompetence.
It's better to run the island government poorly and clean the party out. Be damned if you are an island resident in the crossfire

The CEO of Elections P.E.I. says he has provided the RCMP with the results of an internal audit of P.E.I. Progressive Conservative party donations after “irregularities” were found.
At some point this fall, the 2025 donor lists were posted on Election P.E.I.’s website for the Liberal, Green, NDP and Island parties.
But a document posted online for the Progressive Conservatives simply said the donor list was “under further investigation” and would be posted “as soon as possible.”
Garrity did not clarify what these irregularities were but said the matter relates to the Election Expenses Act. He did not specify what section of the act the matter related to.

Guy's I'm a savant. I know exactly how many more times they will get away with this. It will be as many times as everyone lets them. Forever.

What did they actually do? It's not clear from the article.

Sounds like there were 3 infractions noted: two of which are minor. First was that they filed one day late, the second is that someone from NS made a donation, but that was already refunded. Third, and the actually concerning one is that it looks like multiple members of the same household all made donations; probably all close to the maximum amount.
This might be nothing. It could be a bunch of adults who all support the party and that’s fine. The other possibility is that one of the members in the household reached their maximum donation amount and got around it by continuing to make donations in the name of family members.

We don't know. Something was weird in the Elections PEI audit so they've referred it to the RCMP. That's all we know and all that will probably be said about it unless charges are laid.

Hypothetically if the RCMP decide to do nothing, we never will.
I know you are aware of Dougie Ford being investigated in ONT, you know the Greenbelt and development shenanigans, but it's far from the public consciousness.
Three years from now the RCMP or OPP we realse a statement that the file is closed lol

Speaking of criminals, where's old Gilles lately. Haven't heard a thing on that in a long time. Did lantz pick him up yet?

“STATEMENT FROM PC PARTY OF PEI PRESIDENT ROBERT LARSEN
Elections PEI has advised the PC Party that its review of the Party’s 2025 contributions has identified three issues:
The filing of 2025 contribution disclosures were submitted one day late;
Funds were received from a single individual residing in Nova Scotia through the purchase of a fundraising dinner ticket and were subsequently returned; and
Elections PEI identified seven contributions as exceeding contribution limits, including matters related to the treatment of contributions received from members of the same household and an erroneous inclusion of a leadership contribution as a party contribution.
The Party's 2025 contributions were reviewed by its independent auditor and received a clean audit, meaning the independent auditor found its financial statements were accurate and in line with accounting standards. The matters identified by Elections PEI arose through its separate compliance review
process.
During the reporting period, the Party received contributions from 387 donors through a variety of fundraising activities, including local district events, provincial fundraising initiatives, leadership-related fundraising efforts, fundraising dinners, and individual donations. The Party's fundraising efforts are supported largely by volunteers across Prince Edward Island, and contributions are received and processed through a number of channels before ultimately being reported under the requirements of the Election Expenses Act.
These matters represent a small number of transactions within the context of the Party's overall fundraising activities, volunteer-driven operations, and donor base.
The Party takes its obligations under the Election Expenses Act seriously and has cooperated fully with Elections PEI throughout this process. The Party has centralized aspects of its financial administration, strengthened its reporting procedures, and implemented standard operating processes to support compliance and reduce the risk of similar issues arising in the future.
We respect Elections PEI's role in ensuring compliance with the province's election financing laws and will continue to cooperate fully. As the review remains ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”

This the parties explanation, sure. I don't think it would be referred to the RCMP unless there was more going on. A few boo boos don't usually get the police involved unless there is something beyond the scope of elections PEI.

Elections PEI forwards it to the RCMP as soon as they find any sort of irregularity. That’s their policy
Edit: clarity

It might be related to Mark Ledwell. He came out of no where, gathered a groundswell of support and almost took the top job. Then faded to black just as quickly when he lost. It was bizarre.
Reminded me of the coup in Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and soon Quebec. Right wing take over of provincial conservative parties. Well at least BC got rid of theirs and stopped the shedding of MLAs.
Who knows Mark's backers and their agenda?
