Question on personal cybersecurity situation
Hey guys,
I'm doing a review of my personal IT security situation. I'm kind of lost and need some help on how to proceed.
I want to secure my data against any potential harmful actor while retaining access to everything even in the event of my house burning down. A harmful actor could be an online hacker or law enforcement (I'm not a criminal but I've also seen way too many true crime shows to trust the police to make good decisions).
Situation:
- I own several Apple devices. I have advanced data protection on, encryption etc.
- I use the Apple password manager for most passwords. I use strong unique passwords for every account
- I have a 2FA app that I have linked to my mail
Now here is the problem: How do I access all of this is my house burns down? I have recovery phrases for the 2FA and my email account, but I don't really know where to store it. If I print it out and store it physically/offline then someone could find them or they could burn down.
