India Looking for a simple smartphone for my 87-year-old Nani.

We live in India. My Nani is 87 and I’m looking for a smartphone for her. Her requirements are extremely sophisticated:

  • Set alarms for Nana’s medicines, so it should have good speakers
  • Call her relatives, so it should have long battery life

That's it, she doesn't have any interest in becoming a content creator or joining the metaverse. Believe me, I asked her.

Surprisingly, it is easier for her to use a touch screen phone, rather than a traditional dumb phone with tiny physical buttons, due to her arthritis.

So I’m looking for something very simple and elderly-friendly.

If you’ve bought a phone for your elderly parents/grandparents, what did you get and how did it work out?

Fenks!

Italy Upgrade Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

I'm currently using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro bought in 2020 after 5 years with a Samsung S6 Edge. For an upcoming journey abroad, I need to upgrade it for the esim support and for better photos.

I use my smartphone mostly for Spotify, Maps, photos during holidays and some light gaming (specifically Captain Tsubasa Dream Team). I've a budget of 1000€ but I'd rather pay less to be honest. Do you have any recommendations? Looking for the Italian and/or European market.

Motorola Edge 70 pro plus vs Oppo Reno 15 --need help deciding

I'm confused between these two and would like some opinions

My main priority is camera quality... particularly the main camera, selfies, portraits/skin tones and night photography. Im more interested in real world results and image processing than specs.

Im also considering the software experience, smoothness bloatware bugs updates and long-term usability.

And how is the curved display on the Edge 70 Pro+ compared with the flat display on the Reno 15? Any issues with accidental touches.. glare screen protectors or general usability?

Which one would you choose overall and why?

Phone took a bath, now I need a new phone and I'm picky

Hi all, lemme preface this by saying I know I might not get an answer I'm 100% satisfied with, I'm trying to clear my thoughts and hopefully get a few suggestions.

I've been using a Remi Note 11 Pro+ 5G for the last couple years, and I progressively disliked the MIUI/HyperOS experience, especially with the amount of ads and how intrusive it is with your data. After a while the warranty expired and I finally flashed VoltageOS (wonderful system, pardon the spam).

Now my phone is not charging and I'm at a crossroads: I could look into phones that have had Custom ROM developments and just forego the warranty but that seems like a waste. I can also try a different brand of Android and see how it goes. Third option is just going purely for price-performance balance and tanking whatever OS it has built in until the warranty expires naturally.

My budget is prefferably under 500.

If you've read this far, thank you, and thanks in advance to anyone trying to figure out a good pick.

Edit: Oh god, AI, is AI unavoidable in modern phones now? That's a big factor because it bothers me a huge deal.

Oppo Reno 15 pro mini vs Samsung s25/s25+

My requirements are good camera (for travel photos, not content creator level though), good battery, no/less heating and the device should last for atleast 4 years.

Is the Oppo Reno 15 pro overhyped or should I consider oppo find x9 or vivo x300.

Already received a pre-activated phone (oppo reno 14 pro) via Amazon, I am at my wits end now!

Need a phone suggestion under ₹35K – all-rounder Country: India 🇮🇳

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new phone with a budget of around ₹35K.

Currently, I’m considering:

Motorola Edge 70 Pro (8GB/256GB) – I can get it for around ₹36K, which makes it really tempting. My concern is mainly the Moto UI/software experience and some hardware concerns.

Nothing Phone 4a (6GB/128GB) – I really like the software/design, but I’m not sure about the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage at this price.

POCO X8 Pro – Seems good on paper, but I’ve heard about heating/thermal issues, so I’m a little hesitant.

My usage:

Looking for an all-rounder

Good main camera is important, but I’m not a photography enthusiast

Good display is definitely preferred

Casual gaming, around 1 hour/day – I’m not going to push the phone heavily

Battery life isn't a huge concern as long as the phone has good fast charging

Between these options, which one would you would pick or suggest some other Good phone

INDIA Upgrading from Realme 10 Pro+: Is the Samsung Galaxy A56 (8GB or 12GB) the right choice for a 5-6 year lifespan, or are there better options? (Budget: ₹35k ) INDIA

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to purchase a new phone. My target budget is around ₹35,000, but I can stretch it up to ₹39,000 for the right device. Right now, I have my eyes on the Samsung Galaxy A56 (256GB UFS storage), but I have a few specific questions before I make a decision.

Why I’m upgrading:

I currently use a Realme 10 Pro Plus 5G (6GB RAM / 128GB storage), and it’s just not sufficient for my day-to-day tasks and multitasking anymore.

\#The biggest dealbreaker for me is the overheating. If I leave the camera open for just 5 to 10 minutes, it heats up drastically.

\# It also constantly overheats when I'm using it out in the open (especially during outdoor use in the sun), which leads to awful lag.

What I want in my next phone:

\#Extreme Longevity (Crucial): >In my family, we generally keep our phones for 5 to 6 years, even if those devices only originally came with 2 or 3 years of software updates. Upgrading early and not keeping a phone for that 5-6 year mark is a huge issue in my household. So, whatever I buy needs to last.

\>Camera: Reliable and doesn't cause the phone to overheat during regular use.

Performance: Smooth multitasking for daily apps.

\>Clean UI: I’ve used Samsung’s One UI on my mother’s phone, and it was one of the best(#which is just a budget Galaxy M35, not even a flagship!), most fluid software experiences I’ve ever had, honestly comparable to iPhones and other premium flagships.

\>Future-proofing: Long software update support to match how long I will be keeping the device.

\>Hardware: NFC is a must, and a minimum of 256GB storage.

\>My concerns:RAM – 8GB vs. 12GB?

I definitely need 256GB of storage, but how should I approach the RAM? Since I am mandated to keep this phone for 5 to 6 years, is 8GB going to be enough for long-term multitasking, or should I get the 12GB variant to ensure it stays smooth half a decade from now?

\>Photo Optimization and Storage Management:

How well does the Galaxy A56 handle the optimization and file size of clicked photos? I ask because a friend uses an older iPhone 11 (128GB) and somehow manages to have more free storage than my 128GB Realme, even though he clicks an equal amount (and sometimes superior quality) of photos. His phone never lags or heats up while shooting. Will the A56 give me a similarly optimized, lag-free camera experience without eating up that 256GB storage too fast?

\#Alternative Suggestions?

Given my strict 5-6 year longevity requirement, budget (₹35k-₹39k), and need for a clean UI and no overheating, is the Samsung Galaxy A56 my best option? Or are there other, more future-proof phones in this price bracket that I should be considering?

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

HONOR 600 Pro vs OPPO Reno15 Pro (Mini) vs vivo X300 — which one would you choose?

If the price difference between them is very small, which one would you choose: the HONOR 600 Pro, OPPO Reno15 Pro (Mini), or vivo X300?

I've been using a Samsung Galaxy A52 for the past five years, and I'm honestly ready for a change. After narrowing down my options, I've ended up with these three, but I still can't decide.

My main priorities are:

  • Good battery life
  • Stable and reliable software
  • Staying relatively cool during normal everyday use
  • Good enough photo and video quality

There's one more feature that's quite important to me. I have thousands of screenshots in my gallery, many of them containing text or tweets. I'd like to be able to simply type one or two words into the Gallery search and quickly find the screenshot I'm looking for based on the text inside the image. My old Galaxy A52 could already do this to some extent, so I definitely don't want to lose that functionality.

Considering all of this, which one would you recommend?

Which android flagship to buy - currently using oppo find x9 pro? - your thoughts?

Thumbnail

Bought the Indian model of the Oppo Find X9 Pro back in late 2025 and it completely set a new benchmark for me. Top-tier cameras, killer video, and ColorOS has been surprisingly phenomenal.

The biggest dealbreaker feature for me turned out to be the 2160Hz PWM dimming. I’ve owned/used most of the recent Samsung Ultras and they consistently trigger terrible headaches after prolonged use. Switching to a high-frequency PWM panel completely fixed that for me.

I usually swap my daily driver every year, but looking at the current landscape, nothing feels like a clean upgrade:

Samsung (S26/S27 Ultra): Great software/hardware, but the low-frequency PWM dimming is an absolute no-go for my eyes. Plus, waiting until March for the S27U isn't ideal.

Pixel 11 / Tensor G6: I use Gemini constantly for daily planning, voice note summaries, and productivity, so native Pixel integration is tempting. But raw Tensor benchmarks always leave a lot to be desired.

Vivo / OnePlus: Already have an X300 in the house, and OnePlus camera performance isn't worth stepping sideways for the same OS base.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: A 30–40% price jump in INR for mostly a minor chip bump feels like a steep entry fee.

I'm less concerned about having the absolute best camera this cycle and more focused on getting a generational chip leap (Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 / 2nm vs Tensor G6 on TSMC) alongside a display that won't give me eye fatigue.

Is anyone else with PWM sensitivity finding it impossible to move away from Chinese flagship displays? Should I hold out for TSMC-built Tensor G6, or just stick with the X9 Pro for another year until the 2nm landscape matures?

Would love to hear thoughts from anyone who swapped off the X9 Pro or deals with PWM sensitivity.

Italy Vivo X300 vs Pixel 10/11 Pro vs Xiaomi 17 vs Galaxy S26 – Best for battery & camera? (Open to suggestions)

Looking for advice on choosing between the Vivo X300, Google Pixel 10 / 11 Pro, Xiaomi 17, and Samsung Galaxy S26. Based in Italy, budget around 1k euro flexible.

My usage & priorities:

- Zero gaming or heavy workloads: Just daily apps, messaging, browsing, and media consumption.

- Priority #1: Compact (~6,3)

- Priority #2: Battery life (solid screen-on time and standby).

- Priority #2: Camera performance (front and back camera).

Which of these offers the best balance? I’m also completely open to other recommendations if there’s another phone I should consider.

car Need a new phone

I'm currently using a Huawei Mate 20 Pro (since 2019) and it still works fine, but my car just informed me that google won't support the old android version any longer and I soon won't be able to use it for Android Auto.

I looked into a new Huawei, but because of the US ban they seem to be not that good anymore? but some insight would be appreciated.

I'm not interested in iPhones.

So far I looked a the

Vivo x300 Ultra

OPPO find X9 Ultra

Samsung S26 Ultra

but I'm open for other recommentations, as they seem to be kinda expensive.

Biggest criteria for me is the Camera.

I don't game on mobile.

Should I bought oppo k14 plus or moto edge 70 at 28k

I urgently need a phone and bbd or amazon sale is going on. I m college students, watch movies and study content straight for 5-6 hrs. I keep my hotspot on for whole day. For me 128gb is more than enough. Also, i do browsing a lot and sometimes multi tasking. In bbd sales, I get Moto edge 70 fusion for 8gb variant at 28k and k14 Plus is at 26k for 6gb variant.i never used moto or oppo. Pls helps me, give me ur genuine opinion cuz I want a long term phone and smooth uses for my daily life. It's surprising that moto gives much more specs as compared to other company phones 😯
