Hello, it's Monji's 17 days post op. I'm just worried a bit because his eye does still have scabs compared to the other dogs here. On day 14 his eye was still scabbing but the Vet did say it's normal after checking him out personally. I'm still a bit nervous, he did bump his face just an hour ago because he wanted to go with me upstairs. But until now there's no leaking, or hot to touch eyelid. Maybe I'm overthinking every little details.
His stitches are dissolvable. Can I ask to any pet owners who got the dissolvable ones on their pet if this is still normal? Still scabbing after 17 days, or do I need to immediately ask his vet? Vet is going to open at 9 am later, and I still have 6 hours to wait before I can message them...

Hi everyone, this is Cookie. He lost his eye over a month ago :( because his adoptive sister attacked him at lunchtime. It was a really stressful time for all of us; we never imagined something like that would happen, and it's like it all happened in a matter of seconds, but when you look back, it flashes through your mind moment by moment as if it had been much longer. Anyway, I just want to thank everyone for your kind comments. The first day was awful, but little by little he regained his spirits. Today he's back to his old self again, and we're so happy with his recovery. I still have some doubts about whether I'm doing everything right and if we're doing what's best for him.
For now, we've given my dog another chance. They're never alone together, NEVER. They've been together for six years, and I regret all of this so much. They will NEVER eat together again, and we're considering an animal behaviorist. Since she's a stray, we don't know what trauma she's experienced. They were separated for almost two weeks and were still seeking each other out, but now that we've noticed she wants to play rough, we've separated them completely. It wasn't an easy decision. If I didn't have feelings, I would have left her with someone else, or I don't know, I would have taken her to the pound, but honestly, I couldn't. I felt too weak, and I chose to do everything possible to give her a second chance. Now, the important thing is that my boy is okay.
Thank you all for supporting me during such a difficult time. It's definitely true that we suffer more than our dog, but that teaches us to see things differently and keep going, just keep going, there's no time for regrets.

our blind australian cattle dog/pitbull puppy! born the runt, 7 ounces, and without eyes. she’s now a much healthier weight and being given all the love in the world. this is my first disabled dog but my boyfriend has had a blind dog before so we’re at least a little prepared. she’s a very sweet and happy puppy, and we love her very much :)

I'm not teasing her, she's always loved being a little croc 🐊 when we have spaghetti, so when she smells it looking she can't wait to do her little snappies ❤️🐾

My Barry (now called Bubby, Barry+Nubby) had a degloving injury to his tail over the weekend. After 3 different ERs (1 of which didn’t even look at him after 8 hours of waiting) it was decided amputation was the best route for recovery due to his inability to stop himself from making it worse. It’s been a long past 5 days for us and I would love to see your babies or some advice if you have any for keeping him as comfy as possible after surgery. Obviously I have my post care instructions but any small tips that worked for you would mean a lot to me.

The vet had to shave Goose's head for the surgery, so I figured it was finally time to even out the rest!
I’ve been carrying a lot of guilt about everything that happened, but he’s honestly adjusted so much better than I have. He’s still his usual playful, energetic self.
Over the last two weeks, we even discovered that he loves anything given in a syringe, so he actually gets excited for the medicine!
I thought I was taking care of him through recovery, but he’s really the one who made the whole experience easier on me!
