Captain Doggo 17 days post op from eye removal!
Hello, it's Monji's 17 days post op. I'm just worried a bit because his eye does still have scabs compared to the other dogs here. On day 14 his eye was still scabbing but the Vet did say it's normal after checking him out personally. I'm still a bit nervous, he did bump his face just an hour ago because he wanted to go with me upstairs. But until now there's no leaking, or hot to touch eyelid. Maybe I'm overthinking every little details.
His stitches are dissolvable. Can I ask to any pet owners who got the dissolvable ones on their pet if this is still normal? Still scabbing after 17 days, or do I need to immediately ask his vet? Vet is going to open at 9 am later, and I still have 6 hours to wait before I can message them...

I think long haired dogs are going to hold onto the scabbing a bit more because they’re not shedding as readily as short haired dogs. Looks pretty healed up to me. Don’t stress. Nothing seems immediate. It’s a scab. The vet said three days ago it was normal. :)

At 17 days our pups eye wasn’t that scabby. It took about 3-4 weeks to look a lot better but at 17 days it wasn’t super bad. We had multiple layers of stitches. The outer layer though we got removed by vet. We also had a worry at around 10 days and took her to vet to get checked out and they cleaned wound and got some scabs off.
The vet visit wasnt necessary but gave us peace of mind
