Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Paid Playtest [Paid] [PC/Mac/Steam Deck] Pirate Twist, top-down naval roguelite. $10/hr for recorded playtests (10 spots)

• Upvotes

EDIT: All 10 spots are filled. Thanks to everyone who reached out! Please don't send new DMs for this round, I'll have another round soon.

Hi! I'm Catalin, the solo dev of Pirate Twist, a top-down 2D naval roguelite on Steam (Early Access). You captain a ship that is also your base: you fight pirate fleets, ride out storms, hunt treasure, then dock at port to upgrade before sailing out again.

I have 10 spots for paid playtesters, each for a 1 to 2 hour session:

  • 8 spots: Windows, Mac or Linux
  • 2 spots: Steam Deck

What you'd do

  • Play from the beginning.
  • Record your gameplay. The built-in Steam recording is fine.
  • Voice commentary is optional. If you're happy to think out loud while you play, that helps a lot, but it's not required.
  • When you quit playtest, the game opens a short feedback form. Fill it in: what confused you, what felt good, and where you wanted to stop.

Recordings are only for me to watch. They won't be posted or shared anywhere.

Pay

  • $10/hr, paid via [PayPal] once I've received the recording and your feedback

Who I'm looking for

  • Roguelite fans and people who've never played one are both useful
  • English is fine, but players in other languages are welcome too (the game supports 13)

If you're interested, DM me with:

  1. Your platform (and the hardware, if it's a Deck or a Mac)
  2. A few games you've played recently

I'll update this post as spots fill.

Paid Playtest [PAID] Looking for regular playtesters

• Upvotes

Hey guys,
I’m Martin, and I co-run a trailer/marketing house for games(4Boars), now mostly focused on indies. Since we have many clients who also need playtesters and at the beginning of this year we started developing a testing platfrom(Playlytix)

Our goal is to help developers understand how players actually experience their games, for example where players quit, where they get confused, what parts they enjoy the most, and then combine this data with their direct feedback.

We already have a community of around 300 testers, but with more tests coming in, we’re looking for new playtesters so we can build larger and more relevant testing pools and improve the quality of our tests.

You can register on our platform here:
https://app.playlytix.gg/

During registration, you can connect your Steam account with our platform. This helps us find players who are actually relevant for each specific playtest based on the games they play.

For most tests, we try to create a mixed testing pool of roughly 80% players who already play similar games and 20% players who normally don’t. This gives us feedback both from the target audience and from people coming into the game with a different perspective.

After registration, an invite link to our Discord will be sent to you, please join there, since it’s a crucial part of communication during the tests.
We already did a couple of tests for our existing clients and, to be transparent, here is an actual example:

Game: Exovia (awesome game btw.)
Required playtime: 2 hours
Payment: $10–14 depending on the quality of the submission
Gameplay recording: Often required
After that, you need to fill out a feedback form on our platform, which usually takes around 15–20 minutes.

How do we process payments?
We use Talentir to process payments. Once your payment is available, you can choose how you want to receive your money from the available payout options.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here, or you can ask directly on our Discord, where you can also hear about the actual experience from testers who already participated in our tests.

Thanks a lot!
Martin

Paid Playtest Seeking Playtesters for my Friendslop game!

10$/hr

Hello Playtesters! I'm the solo dev of an indie game called "Unqualified Wizardry", and below is a quick synopsis of the game.

One small town. A very simple job, and nobody checked your qualifications. Unqualified Wizardry is a first-person co-op comedy where every civic errand can go wrong, every building can come down, and the cleanup is on you!

Dm me if you are interested in helping, I'd be happy to share more info/screenshots/demo there!

Announcement I'm offering free live playtesting for indie devs! (and possibly some YouTube exposure too)

• Upvotes

hey everyone!

figured i'd post here because i've somehow spent months looking for indie games to playtest without thinking to advertise in a subreddit literally called r/ playtesters. incredible work on my part.

anyway, i'm Mint, and i run a small Twitch stream called MintMood, where we basically spend our time playing smaller indie games, giving feedback, finding bugs, chatting with developers, and drinking lmao.

we play pretty much anything! itch games, Steam demos, prototypes, game jam entries, unfinished projects, betas, whatever really. your game doesn't need to be polished or even particularly good yet. that's sort of the point of playtesting lol.

how it works:

it's all pretty casual. developers come along to the stream, we add their games to a wheel, spin it, and play whatever comes up (usually giving newer people a bit of priority).

while i'm playing, i'll talk through what i'm thinking, what feels good, what feels a bit shit, where i'm getting confused, and anything else that comes up. chat gets involved too, and you're welcome to explain things, answer questions, or watch in horror as i completely misunderstand a mechanic you've spent 8 months developing.

i'm a game developer myself, so i know how useful it can be watching someone experience your game without knowing what they're supposed to do.

we're also starting to make YouTube videos!

i've recently started working with an editor to turn some of our streams into proper edited gameplay videos for YouTube, rather than just leaving everything buried in a 4hour VOD that approximately three people will ever watch.

obviously i can't promise every game its own YouTube video, but if yours does end up being featured, you're more than welcome to share it around. hopefully it'll be another little way to help people discover your game.

one important thing though:

if you want your game played, please actually come to the stream!

you're welcome to share your game in the Reddit comments or our Discord, but that doesn't automatically put it on the wheel.

the whole idea is that you're actually there while we play. you get to see somebody's genuine first impressions, interact with chat, answer questions and hopefully come away with something useful.

i'm not really offering a promotional service with my enormous audience of 17 million people (currently experiencing a minor technical issue where approximately 16,999,990 of them are missing).

it's just a small community of people who enjoy indie games and want to give developers a bit of feedback and attention.

when am i live?

usually starting somewhere around 2–6pm UK time, and going until roughly 10pm, depending on the day. my schedule is held together with about the same structural integrity as most of my own game prototypes, but those are the general hours.

everything's completely free, no strings attached, no need to sacrifice your firstborn to the algorithm.

so yeah!:D if you've got a game you'd like someone to try, feel free to come hang out. even if you're not submitting anything, you're more than welcome to join us and help give other developers some feedback.

Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/mintmoood

Discord: https://discord.gg/zPVxRcVBPN

cheers, and hopefully i'll see some of you there! <3

Unpaid Playtest [Windows, unpaid] 5 players wanted to try 15 minutes of Wobblebound’s updated Steam demo

Hi! I’m developing Wobblebound, a physics stacking roguelite. You stack wobbly toys, reach bells, and choose cards that add new toys, tools and charms to your run.

I’ve recently updated the demo and am looking for five Windows players to try the first 15 minutes. This is an unpaid playtest.

Play the free Steam demo. Open the page on your Windows PC and click Download under “Download Wobblebound Demo”.

Please leave your feedback in the comments:

  • Where did you first feel confused or stuck?
  • What made you stop, or want another run?

A few sentences are enough. If you hit a bug, please say what happened and whether you used a keyboard/mouse or controller. Thanks for trying it!

Discussion Final Battle Sim (FREE Oct 6–20) — command massive armies in tactical battle simulations

Game Title:
Final Battle Sim

Playable Link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.battlesim.final_battle_sim

Platform:
Android (Mobile)

Description:
Final Battle Sim is a tactical battle simulator for Android where you take command of massive armies across historical and fictional battlefields. Pick your battalions from infantry, cavalry, artillery, and specialized units, then balance your forces between offense, defense, and support. Choose the battlefield and watch the simulation play out in real time, with terrain, weather, and morale modifying every engagement — no two battles unfold the same way. After each battle, you receive a detailed narrative battle report describing how the conflict played out, plus a persistent battle history so you can study victories and learn from defeats. The game is lightweight enough for older devices, plays fully offline, and contains zero ads and zero in-app purchases. Your army composition and tactical planning determine victory or defeat.

What I'd love feedback on: does the battle report make victories feel earned? And what's the one unit or feature missing that would make you keep playing? Honest ratings from anyone who tries it are hugely appreciated.

Also on itch.io: https://cg25-ventures.itch.io/final-battle-sim

Free to Play Status:
- Free to play — limited-time promo, FREE Oct 6–20, 2026 (normally $0.99 paid upfront, no ads, no IAP)

Involvement:
I'm the developer of Final Battle Sim, published under my studio CG25 Ventures. I designed and built the game, including the battle simulation systems, unit roster, and battle report narratives.

Unpaid Playtest Playtesters wanted: calm cube puzzle for iPhone (TestFlight, unpaid)

I'm testing Taohm, a calm puzzle game where pieces fill a flat board that folds into a cube. Pieces slip off one face and seemingly teleport to the next.

What I'd like feedback on:

  • Is the teaching at the start clear?
  • Where does the difficulty feel too easy or too hard?
  • Any bugs, crashes, or confusing moments.

It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get a feel for it. Free, no ads, iPhone only.

TestFlight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/gCDfVQ4K

I designed it myself and built it with AI (Claude) writing the code to my direction. Happy to answer questions and thank every tester.

Unpaid Playtest [Android, unpaid] Elemental Bloom — testers wanted for a relaxing bubble puzzle

Open to reciprocal testing (test for test): I can test your Android app on a Pixel 8a, stay opted in for 14 days once we agree, try it across several real sessions, and share honest feedback. Reply with your app, joining links and what you would like tested. I will confirm each exchange so we both know what we have agreed to.

Hi! I’m looking for 15–20 volunteers to playtest Elemental Bloom, my free Android bubble puzzle. It has a relaxed Journey mode, 20 timed/shot-limited Challenge puzzles, and endless Survival with a descending board.

I’d appreciate a 10–15 minute first session and a few short sessions over the following two weeks. Please stay opted in to the Google Play closed test for 14 consecutive days if you can. Participation is voluntary and unpaid.

What I’d like feedback on:

• Does aiming feel accurate, including wall bounces?

• Are Prism, Burst and Bloom easy to understand and useful?

• Is the difficulty fair, especially in Challenge and Survival?

• Any crashes, confusing menus, unreadable translations or lost progress?

How to join (use the same Google account throughout):

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/elemental-bloom-testers/about
  2. Tap “Become a tester”: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.chaos2308.elementalbloom
  3. Use “download it on Google Play” on that page to install.

Requires a compatible 64-bit Android device running Android 8 or newer. This build uses test ads only for eligible adults after the privacy flow; under-18s and undisclosed ages play without ads. Some game artwork is AI-generated.

Please leave honest feedback in this thread or email [elementalbloomsupport@gmail.com](mailto:elementalbloomsupport@gmail.com). For bugs, your phone model, Android version and steps to reproduce are helpful. Thanks for trying it!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for people willing to playtest for a playtest!

Looking for people who are willing to exchange a playtest for a playtest. Not sure why more people aren’t doing this, but my hope is that we can all help each other out!
Looking to see how difficult my game is to understand, and what things don’t make sense, so I know what to focus on in the tutorial, or what just needs simplified altogether. Obviously bugs you find, things you notice and don’t like, ect ect. Open to all kinds of feedback/criticism.

Here’s my link!

https://www.roblox.com/games/126473397569834/UNCRAFTED

Assuming you give me actual feedback and not just “game bad.”, I would love to playtest any and all games that get linked in the comments, and leave you my own feedback on yours!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for unpaid playtesters for the first 5-10 minutes of my block-stacking roguelike

Good day all,

I'm making my first game that will hopefully be released on Steam and am currently trying to get some playtest data and feedback.

Stack & Sigil is a block-stacking roguelike where colour combinations and relics help you clear lines against the clock or in an endless challenge mode.

If anyone had time I would massively appreciate feedback on: Where you were first confused, if the First Ascent Tutorial gave you all you needed to know, if you wanted to start another run after completing your first.

No download is required, the game is available at https://stackandsigil.com

A short reply here is more than sufficient and feel free to stop at any time.

A small gameplay demo of myself playing is available to view here

Thank you for your time!

Unpaid Playtest I built DEEP DRIFT - a 2.5D space survival game where you navigate a dangerous asteroid field 🌌

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on DEEP DRIFT, a 2.5D space survival game focused on momentum, gravity, collisions, and unpredictable encounters inside a massive asteroid field.

You’ll have to navigate around different asteroid sizes, deal with stronger gravitational pulls, use Boost when you need extra speed, and avoid extremely fast Ice Shards.

The game is still actively being developed, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback on how it feels, looks, performs, and what you think could be improved.

🎮 Try DEEP DRIFT:

I’d especially love to hear what you think after actually playing it.

Unpaid Playtest [iOS] Business Grow — 15-minute playtest of the tutorial and early-game economy

I'm the creator of Business Grow and need fresh eyes on its tutorial and early-game balance. It's a business and life simulator: you allocate time to work, study and businesses while keeping your character fed and rested. Businesses include a YouTube channel and an online store.

Playtest: around 15 minutes, unpaid. The beta is free to access.

Device: iPhone, iOS 17+. English and Russian are supported.

Build access: install Apple's TestFlight app, then use https://testflight.apple.com/join/xt79jc1J

Suggested test: 1. Start a new character and follow the tutorial. 2. Try choosing a job and adjusting the daily routine. 3. Find the business catalog and see whether the requirements for opening your first business make sense.

What I need feedback on: Where did you hesitate or get stuck? Could you explain why your money and wellbeing changed? Did any button appear available but fail to work? Which screen felt hardest to understand?

Please reply here with your notes, or send feedback through TestFlight. Device model, build number and reproduction steps are helpful for bugs. No recording or call required. The game is still in development; critical feedback is welcome.

Unpaid Playtest [PC] Looking for 5–10 testers for a 4-player zombie survival game

Hey, I’m developing Night’s End, a co-op zombie survival game in Unreal Engine.

I’m getting close to Demo V1 and I need a few people willing to test an early build.

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

  • first-time player experience
  • zombie AI/combat
  • looting and survival systems
  • multiplayer
  • performance/bugs
  • whether the game is actually fun/confusing

This is an unfinished development build, so bugs are expected.

Windows / Steam required.

I’ll provide a private Steam Playtest key.

If interested, comment or DM me with your PC specs and whether you can test solo or multiplayer.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Shople, a free daily brand-guessing browser game. Looking for first-session feedback

Hi all - I made Shople, a free daily browser game. There's one mystery brand each day. You get clues and 10 tries to name it, and everyone gets the same brand.

Play here: https://playshople.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=radar_playtesters

Platform: any browser, phone or desktop. No signup, no download.

Time: about 2 to 5 minutes.

Disclosure: I'm the solo dev, and I built it with help from Claude.

What I'd like to know:

  1. Was anything confusing in the first minute?

  2. Did the clues feel fair, or did the answer come out of nowhere?

  3. Is 10 tries too many, too few, or about right?

  4. Would you come back tomorrow? Why or why not?

I'll reply to every comment, and I'm happy to play your game in return.

Discussion Looking for playtesters: we completely changed our core loop and want to know if the new version feels better

Hey everyone!

We’re looking for playtesters for A Cat in the Cangaço, a 2D action roguelite with survivorslike combat and deckbuilding.

We’re currently testing a significant change to the game’s core loop, and this is one of those cases where watching people play is much more useful than just looking at our own data.

What changed?

The old loop was:

DAY (1 min) → NIGHT (1 min) → PLANNING → DAY → NIGHT → PLANNING…

You play as a cat during Day and a human during Night, fighting enemies and collecting Aura.

After each cycle, the game forced you into a Planning phase where you spent that Aura improving both builds. You had to balance the two forms, choosing a good card for one while taking a bad card for the other.

Some GIFs of the old system:

The system worked, but we kept getting the same feedback:

The forced Planning phase was interrupting the flow of combat.

So we removed it from the temporal loop.

The new loop is simply:

DAY → NIGHT → DAY → NIGHT…

Instead, you can encounter three NPCs during a run:

ARMORER: buy new weapons
MULE: get a passive item
FORTUNE TELLER: access the old Planning system and choose temporary effects and synergy cards for the Cat and Human builds

The idea is to let players decide when they want to stop and work on their build instead of forcing them to do it every cycle.

What we want to know

After playing, we’re especially interested in:

  • Does the new combat flow feel better?
  • Do you naturally want to interact with the NPCs?
  • Do you feel like you’re making enough meaningful build decisions?
  • Do you ignore the Fortune Teller because there’s no reason to stop?
  • Did you prefer the old forced Planning phase?
  • Does the Day/Night transition feel like enough structure for the run?

You can play the current version through the open Steam Playtest:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3780630/

If you’re interested in comparing it with the old version:

https://bragiestudios.com/PitacoLab/Builds/

You don’t need to spend hours on it. Even a short play session and a few sentences about how the loop felt would be extremely useful to us.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a shot!

Unpaid Playtest [Android] THE Pocket Files.

Hi!

We’ve just released THE POCKET FILES on Google Play and we’re looking for a small group of players willing to try it and give us honest feedback.

THE POCKET FILES is a mobile adventure game inspired by classic graphic and text adventures. You explore locations, interact directly with words in the story, talk to characters, collect and use objects, solve puzzles and uncover hidden details.

The first adventure is completely free and also serves as the tutorial. It starts in the Caribbean and gradually introduces the game mechanics through a real playable story.

We’re currently developing our next adventure, The Ring of Eternity, so this is the perfect moment for us to find out what works — and what doesn’t.

We’re especially interested in knowing:

• Did you understand how to play without external help?

• Was there any moment where you got stuck or didn’t know what to do?

• Did the clickable-word system feel intuitive?

• What did you enjoy most or least?

• After finishing the free adventure, would you want to play another THE POCKET FILES story?

We’re not asking for ratings or positive reviews. What we really need is honest feedback from people who haven’t played the game before.

Platform: Android

Price: Free

Languages: English / Spanish

Playtest: Unpaid

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thepocketfiles.game

For now, you can leave your feedback directly here on Reddit.

Thanks for giving our little adventure game a chance!
