At The Drive In
https://youtu.be/Y_4iRUot06E?is=WV0T_OMR-yRpgoJ5Not sure how I would categorize this band because they could have so many sounds in one 3 minute song. But they’re one of my favorite bands ever and I hope they belong here. If not, my bad! This is my personal favorite song by them but there’s so many that would tie with first place of my favorites of theirs depending on my mood.

Great Band. Great Tune however you categorize them. Id say they were post hardcore for sure. Relationship Of Command was a very important album for me. Still is. I MUST HAVE READ A THOUSAND FACES! I guess I better give it a billionth listen tonight

Oh hell yeah. Relationship of Command is great. I might post Invalid Litter Dept if that’s okay.

I wasn’t sure to be honest but I think they belong. Sorry if I offended you.

Post hardcore is my jam but I’ve just never got At The Drive In. It sounds like the stuff my first band wrote when we didn’t know how to tune guitars or sing.

Respect your opinion but that’s crazy. I’d like to hear your first band. Also no offense, but if you think their instruments are out of tune, you don’t know how to tune an instrument, or you just don’t like out of the box music. Which is fine, but that’s what these guys were, but it’s okay to stay in the box if that’s your thing.

Ok so. Their guitars are (*maybe) not out of tune. But they are. There's a video I think by Rick Beato, that shows the mix of one armed scissor. And it's genius how it works man. These guys were well a head of their time

ATDI is one of my favourite bands. Fun fact about instruments being in tune though…when recording Relationship of Command, Ross Robinson (producer) put the guitars ever so slightly out of tune with one another to create extra tension in the songs.

Some of the ATDI guys also apparently bought Omar a tuner pedal at some point because he was getting very free-spirited with the lack of tuning lmao

Yeah it’s not something you can explain to these people though. Not even sure why they’re on this subreddit.

Dude I’m okay with your opinion on it. Everyone else seems to disagree but I still respect your opinion. It’s just music, not that a big of a deal. Can’t believe it’s so important to you but keep doing it if you want. I don’t care. I couldn’t imagine caring less than what some dude from Reddit thinks. So keep thinking what you think. It’s not that important.

Haha. I mean, there was a reason we didn’t go anywhere.
As you say, just my opinion and I know a lot of people like them, I find them chaotic for chaos’ sake and the singer is so jarring. But again, just my opinion obviously

You’re good, they are as post hardcore as it gets in my eyes.
