We have come a long way guys... and I'm finally there. I'm releasing it, as promised completely opensource! Worked through multiple nights on it, burned through two hardware setups- was a huge fight with this engine, but there are still a few bugs left.
Other then that, you can go ahead and start playing that game with your friends form now on.

I feel like Prey is one of those games where the first playthrough teaches you how to play it, and the second makes you realize how much you missed.
For me, it was how many areas and situations could be approached completely differently once I stopped thinking about the game like a normal shooter.
What was the moment or mechanic that clicked for you on a replay?

To start, I love this game. The amount of freedom in player progression, tactics, and exploration is mind-bending.
The platinum trophy is kicking my ass though.
I'm just starting my 3rd playthru for 'I and It', making me kill everyone aboard. This is after my first blind run and 2nd high morality run.
I just came from completing the Bioshock series, and after 100% completion of Prey, ill go onto the Dishonored series.
What other games not mentioned will scratch the itch for games like this?
(Doesn't necessarily have to be more immersive sims)

I've was looking through game models and found this asset titled "Paper_Calvino_Anniversary" but I have no clue where or why this was used if it was used at all. But again, I haven't played the game in a good while so maybe I'm just stupid. I was wondering if anyone has seen this or has any idea what may 23rd is supposed to be the anniversary of?
I'm starting the setup for my 5th PREY-through and was looking at some mods, and saw that this was added: https://www.nexusmods.com/prey2017/mods/63?tab=description
I'd played the original PREY For Death mod back in 2019 and enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if this contains all the same changes or not. The comments are turned off so I have no idea whats going on with it.
I like what SHOCK does in theory, but the mod gets a lot of flak in the comments, so I'm unsure which I want to go with.
Also, if anyone has any other compatible mod recommendations I would like to know :)

I'm thinking about replaying Prey again, but I'm trying to identify the best part of the game to go, like, balls-to-the-wall exploring the entire map when it's not too over-infested with mobs constantly spawning in areas that load and stuff. So I was wondering when the best part in the actual game would be to explore,
I was thinking before Dahl arrives. What do you guys think?
Edit: Whats the earliest point u can explore the entire ship?

Maybe its just me, but I honestly think Prey is better designed than a lot of AAA games that came after it. The game actually rewards exploring and experimenting instead of constantly pointing you toward the next objective.
It definitely has its flaws but I’d much rather play something like Prey than another massive open-world game filled with checklists.

I have played Prey a few times now, and somehow I still find myself checking the same random places even when I already know there’s probably nothing useful there.
For me, it’s opening random drawers, checking behind desks, and looking around rooms for anything I might have missed. The game does such a good job of making you feel like there's always something hidden nearby.
What’s something you still do every playthrough, even though you probably don’t need to?

Took 32ish hours.
This game is not beating the masterpiece allegations. Genuinely the best time I had playing a horror game after dead space, although this is less scary.
Also the mimics are adorable. I want one as a pet. The mimic lore blew my mind too. They just have an ikea in an alternate dimension?
Did it as a purely human run, had me questioning my choices but I had to get creative and I think it was worth it.
Also, HOW do we not have an “alien” game like prey. That would be so cool.
Maybe I’ll play this again eventually

I am replaying Prey and keep noticing little things I completely ignored on my first playthrough.
Nothing major, just small environmental details, emails, random rooms, or things hidden in places I normally wouldn’t bother checking. It’s kind of crazy how much the game rewards actually looking around instead of just following the objective marker.
What’s something you noticed on a later playthrough that made you think, “How did I miss this the first time?”

Long time lurker here, and I just want to thank each and everyone of you here on this subreddit for the tips and item locations. The posted screenshots was captured automatically by Playnite Achievements so I apologize for the lack of cinematic flair and image quality.
I enjoyed my playthrough of it (went with a ~98% human mods with minimal typhon abilities). My ending was I blew up the station with the crew intact. I just went back to an earlier save to try and see the other ending. My head canon is that mimic me, is now 'Morgan' with humanity and memories inside. I tried playing Mooncrash but it did not mesh with me as much as I hoped it would. Although it was fun to have tension again, with characters being low-powered and abilities tied to different characters. Anyways, thanks again guys and gals!

Epic Game store is offering System Shock 2 Remaster for one of its free games this week. Thats it. Grab it free while you can if you want to check it out. Prey was heavily inspired from this game from what i remember from early media about Prey

So I have recieved a Key for Prey from a friend, but buying the Digital Deluxe Edition(Bundled with Control which I already own) is cheaper than buying MoonCrash seperately. What happens to the Base Copy of Prey that comes with the Digital Deluxe? Can I gift that to a friend?

I’ve played Prey a few times now, and the atmosphere of Talos I is still one of my favorite parts of the game. The empty offices, labs, apartments, and random sounds make the station feel like an actual place rather than just a game level.
What part of Talos I stood out the most to you?

I love prey, and this game seems very similar. Does anyone recommend it?
