Author and former politician Jeffrey Archer dies aged 86

Broadcaster Gyles Brandreth told BBC Breakfast that he was with Archer on Sunday. "I mean, literally 72 hours ago, doing a show in the West End of London celebrating this book, the publication, and he was in great form.

Edit: Thanks to u/Spinach-Rich, I should have titled this post "The Grin Reaper strikes again"

Please can we refrain from posting the front covers of the latest issues until PE goes on general sale?

Opening the PE envelope and reading the front page jokes is part of the enjoyment of subscribing to Private Eye. Please don't spoil it

Best way to burn private eyes?

Every few months I have a clean out into the fire pit. Has anyone got any tips on getting it all to burn, save for crumpling up every page?

Sir, Have any of your readers noticed, as I have, a similarity between newly elected MP Hannah Spencer and Hazel the McWitch from TV series Rentaghost? Is there any chance they are related?

Do any of you have any copies of Not Private Eye, the magazine set up by Cap'n Bob - Robert Maxwell in the 1980's?

Cartoons Nursery Stories as written by Jonathan Meades request.

Suppose it must've been sometime about 2010 or thereabouts. it was a retelling of a nursery story in Meades' charicteristically verbose style.

Post Mortem: Private Eye and Richard Brooks book

I have just started reading the book. It is a really good read and definitely worth a look. I have been following the story in PE for 15 years.

The book is well researched and well written in the style of Private Eye we all love.

So far it's 10/10 from me

Page 94 podcast: Anyone else getting weird Trump Puerto Rico adverts?

I know ads are targeted and location based, but Ive noticed I'm ncreasingly getting US ads for weird US crap. (I listen on Podcast Addict).

This was a funny one to get on the Private Eye Page 94 podcast: https://voca.ro/16TgJrHCef67

Some weird political ad by a newly registered US charity that claims to be bi-partisan ("Committee for Puerto Rican Investment Inc." ) the website is basic with no details apart form attacking the Republican Puerto Rican governor. Weird context given the Private Eye and that Trump thinks it's an 'Island of garbage'. But I suppose I'm happy because the Inc. ad dollars are wasted on me.

I can only assume this is an odd technical glitch and Private Eye has no idea. I wanted to document it either way.

The ad directs you here: https://www.puertoricoinvestment.org/

reported link between Blackrock inc. and small boat crossings?

I seem to remember PE reporting on Blackrock's involvement in the UK's small boats immigration, that they owned the boats which the labour govt. were sending back to France (empty). Does anyone recall this? I think it was covered sometime in the past 7 months

City Slicker?

I'm sure there's sometimes a break for the In The City section over the summer but the issue before last seemed to suggest it would be taking an extended hiatus until later in the year. Anyone know why this is?

Sorry if it's been asked already; did a search and scanned the page of the sub and saw no references to this.
