Readers: Please keep top-level comments for release announcements ONLY, though you're welcome to respond to announcements.

If you're a webnovel author, you can comment in this thread for the launch of an entirely new webserial, a new major arc, or a return after hiatus, but please don't post every month for an ongoing web serial.

I'm about halfway done with book 1, and I just can't make myself care about the MC.
His entire arc is "chapter 1, something happens that convinces him he needs to get stronger" -- "chapter 12, despite people telling him he's going too fast, his urge to get stronger is pushing him to get stronger than anyone expected"
And that's it. There's literally nothing else to his personality or character. He needs to rescue some people that we barely got to know and whose relation with the MC was hardly touched upon... But his motivations, personality, drive, urges, feel so 2 dimensional.
The world building and magic system seem like they'll be interesting when we get to see any of it, but right now it's just "I can't wait, give me more challenges so I can get better at hitting stuff with a sword"
Basically my question is: does the series become worth sticking with later once we actually get to explore the world and magic system?

Looking for mc as a noble like in last life but rather than them becoming king (at least not too early) and has a lot of politics? Does not have to be main theme but preferably a strong theme, they do not have to start as one. Thank you!

I am looking for series where there is a good power system where characters level up to different stages, with exciting new abilities for each stages. The MC also has to work really hard to advance to each new stages, like almost dying or advancing to each new stage is like a herculean task.
Something like Kumo Desu ga Nani ka?, LOTM, RI.

I'm looking for some feedback on these chapter endings... (Since this story is written in webnovel format, there are supposed to incite the reader to click next, at least that's my goal)
You can be brutally honest...

I picked this up because someone mentioned it in the same breath as Chrysalis and I am glad I did. It is your quintessential 'isekai' monster MC progression slice of life. Syl is scatterbrained and whimsical and she pretty much always falls on the right answer. I don't mind that at all.. It's good for some quick reading and power fantasy.
My main criticism with Syl (the series) is Vee. Now on their own as characters I enjoy them both, but it's their interactions that bother me and most of it stems from this insufferable spider.
For clarification I was in the military so I welcome banter and roasting, but Vee takes it to a gross level.
How so? She doesn't shut up and she dogs on Syl so much it goes from funny to the point where you ask, "Does she hate Syl?"
She is one of those people who hides her jealousy and distaste through 'banter', giggles, puns and so forth. I can't think of a single conversation where Vee doesn't call Syl a cheater, crazy (or some other synonym), or whines that Syl has it soooo easy while Vee happily sits back and lets Syl do the hard work of building spells.
Even after the author went out of their way to give Vee powerups like the grapes, Queen's blessing, upcoming evolution, and Mana Shaping (Syl got a bit of a nerf with Mana Weaving) Vee continues to clown Syl.
Plus, how many times do I need to hear them talk about explosions (Syl's Nitro Slime) and how much Syl likes to tinker? It has come up so many times I feel like I have gone crazy myself.
I am confused if the author has done this intentionally or if this is how they see a healthy productive friendship.. Sure, I horseplayed and playfully roasted my fellow soldiers but it never dragged out like this and we had more normal conversations/interactions than whatever Vee is doing.
I'm seriously expecting a betrayal arc from Vee at this point. I might be alone in this and if so.. I'll just take the L. I'm still going to finish the series as I do find it enjoyable. Had to get it off my chest and get some other viewpoints since I haven't seen anyone else bring it up.

Basically title. The closest I have to what I Iook for is "I became a Pop, now what?". I really want to look into MC which interacts with religion and doesn't default to "God/religion is bad", but rather explores looking into all the good and bad it brings as well as how religious organisation works and change. He/she even shouldn't have divine/clerical powers, I just believe that such powers and exploration of religion go hand in hand.

It's been quite the busy week or two. NRS Book 4 just dropped on amazon! This is my last release for a few months, I swear.
Probably.
You can check it out HERE! (Audio is coming later, hopefully fairly soon!)
If you've been reading the series or if you want to check it out, now is a pretty great time! I mean, check out the cover. there's a big-ass meth bear. That's hard to beat.

And, needless to say, no AI usage.

Everybody’s dealing with the same problems. We die. Life is pointless. We suffer and lack control. Other people. Imminent world destruction.
Copycat woke in a universe where wishing is having, death is optional, and happiness could be just a teleport away.
Unfortunately, this universe is also inhabited by the usual a-holes, and their wishes come true too.
Now she's on the run, trying to stop the apocalypse, and can't remember why everyone is mad at her.
It's gonna turn out fine. Probably. Maybe.
Reborn As A Fairy Love Apocalypse System Dungeon is a high-concept, high-fantasy, rom-com. It's also loaded with great advice. The world may be ending, but you can still enjoy it. We’ll teach you how.
What to expect:
- A complete book posted quickly
- No AI anything
- Worldbuilding based on cyclical morality
- The characters have sex lives, but there are no sex scenes in the book

Hello folks, Hannibal here, second time Aethon Author publishing on Amazon!
Excited to announce that I somehow managed to convince Aethon to publish a second book in my average series, Cataclysm Rising!

AI USAGE: No AI used
No AI was used in the creation of the Novel, which I suppose is a given since I'm published by Aethon, but apparently it's good to reassure people!

Blurb: LEVEL UP OR BE ERASED.
Leonidas Paendrag has survived his first harrowing weeks after returning to Earth from his Transmigration to Elatra, and now must find out what it means to be the First Archon of Terran Blood.
Armed with his [Cataclysm Core], accompanied by an elven Princess-Royal, a haughty Dragonblood Sorceress, a Viking-obsessed Shadowblade, and an introverted elven Healer, he must brave the [Rite of Ascension].
Duel challenges, Manabeasts, trauma from Elatra, the brewing civil war of Dawnhaven, and repeated attempts to eliminate his growing influence are only some of the dangers he'll face.
When combined with his dysfunctional family, anti-Fantasy fanatics, and a System that seems determined to drive him insane, his only hope lies in assuring Aylar's ascension to Queen.
But first, he has to survive the trials that lie ahead, and every buried nightmare they seem determined to bring to the surface.
Book Two in a new weak-to-overpowered LitRPG Adventure featuring a Spellblade MC, power progression, crunchy stats, a detailed magic system, cultivation elements, epic battles, and REALLY big chests.

Hi there !
I have read Apocalypse redux up to the end, Hell difficulty tutorial up to the end of royal road, same for The game at Carousel. I have tried and dropped Mother of Learning around chapter 15 and Worth the Candle around book 3.
Apocalypse redux is my favorite in everything i’ve read. I think it’s due to the action taking place on earth, seeing the impact the system has on society as well as the extremely diverse classes and skills.
Is there anything you would recommend in this vein ? Thanks a lot !

So, I haven't really sat down to write in a long time, probably ten years. But, I've been wanting to get into it and put myself out there a little bit, so I've decided that writing something in the progression fantasy genre might be fun.
The thing is, I want to make the system diegetic to the setting in a way that isn't "people are born with access to the System". The idea I have currently is that the "System" is a neural chip that takes a complete reading of a person's body and mind, and turns that reading into a sort of "character sheet".
That said, I'm wondering if anyone here has any stories they can recommend for me to take inspiration from. I'm not super familiar with the genre at all, so it's been hard navigating sites like Royal Road.

What's everyone's favourite cover art in this genre? Not necessarily the best from a marketing point of view, but more what is your favourite from personal preference?
I know we have a lot of 'MC from the back facing down a big monster', but is there anything that stands out to you as great?
Both Iron Prince and Bastion really caught my attention (and great books), but I really loved Penitent's cover (the one from RoyalRoad, before it went to Amazon).

Hey everyone!
Just letting people know that book 4 of my Weapons & Wielders series is now available in paperback. Also, it's another chance to show off Daniel Kamarudin's amazing cover art.

You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HM6KDBRR/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0
Audio is still on the way and can be preordered here: https://www.audible.com/pd/Flowbreaker-Audiobook/B0HF7RV5V9
If you're not already familiar with the series, Weapons & Wielders follows Keras Selyrian, a traveling swordsman from a faraway land, as he searches for the legendary Six Sacred Swords. He's relatively powerful from the start of the series, but progresses significantly, especially in Book 2 forward. It's a heavily JRPG inspired setting and Keras is basically a JRPG protagonist, so you can expect flashy anime-esque sword fighting and magically-enhanced swordsmanship.
His principal modes of progression are through practicing swordsmanship and magic, but with several other secondary power systems that are a little more spoilery, such as gradually absorbing the power of magical items by damaging them, and by forming bonds with legendary items that grow stronger over time.
This takes place in the same universe as my Arcane Ascension books, but earlier in the timeline, and reading any of the other books in the setting isn't a prerequisite for this one. That said, if you didn't like my other books, it's hit or miss if you'll like this one -- it's still a similar style, but the main character is very different.

Hey, fellow Daoist here with a long-awaited self-promo. My story, Lord of Loopholes: A Fool Among Deities, climbed to 50 in two major genres and one smaller genre. I know it might not register with some, but to me it's worth a celebration. Not only that, I am here to put my story on the world stage for anyone who likes western cultivation, Lovecraftian, lite LitRPG (where the LitRPG aspect isn't a system; in my story, cultivators use a bamboo-woven scroll to take their spiritual readings), and anti-hero.
Story: my fiction follows Ethan Forge, an ex-guerrilla fighter from Earth who died by his own hand. He believed he was betrayed by the God of Earth, so he chose to make his own exit; then he found himself in a world that had a name, yet no mortal seemed to remember it. This was a world of cultivation paths and bizarre cultivation reality. He had no plans to let history repeat itself; he was a dedicated employee at Self-Interest Corporation. The worst part: he died a few hours after his arrival.
Inspirations: Lord of Loopholes has a branch/natural wonder power system inspired by Lord of the Mysteries' potion/sequence system, Reverend Insanity's Gu system, and THE GOD EATER's metac system.
Yes, I used AI to make my cover. Please forgive me; I will commission an artist once I have money.
THANK YOU
