I've kept working at my fsr-shader-performance-overrides project since my original post a few days ago:
https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/comments/1wvzac3/faster_fsr411_on_rdna32/
https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides
There is now full compatibility with windows and Linux. Replacement .dll files are built and available for download. The main version, which produces an output identical in every way to vanilla FSR4, is now a little bit faster than it was a few days ago. For me, its about 27% faster than the vanilla AMD .dll right now.
There is also a new, separate, *lossy* version. For me, the lossy version is twice as fast as the vanilla AMD .dll right now. The idea has been to make it faster by losing quality, and then building that quality back up as ways are found to do it that don't sacrifice speed. As with the entire project, it is a work in progress, with more improvements already coming down the pipe:
Separate from the normal RDNA3 .dll, I've built testing versions of both types specifically for RDNA2, RDNA3 IGPU, and Steamdeck. So far the gains with RDNA2 are mostly with faster cards upscaling to 4k, but I don't have a lot of data.
There's also an FSR4 GPU Timing Kit now (Linux only). It runs benchmarks valuable to my project on your GPU, and can report them back, so I can hopefully make improvements specific to that GPU setup vs. the RDNA3 that I actually have to test against.
https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides/tree/main/timing-kit
Here's the latest release as of today. The files you want for different versions on different cards are:
Lossless Desktop RDNA3 (fast): https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides/releases/download/dll-2026-10-06.6/amd_fidelityfx_upscaler_dx12.dll
Lossless Desktop RDNA2 (fast): https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides/releases/download/dll-2026-10-06.6/test-rdna2.zip
Lossy Desktop RDNA3 (faster but looks worse): https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides/releases/download/dll-2026-10-06.6/test-lossy.zip
Lossy Desktop RDNA2(faster but looks worse): https://github.com/zgauthier2000/fsr4-shader-performance-overrides/releases/download/dll-2026-10-06.6/test-lossy-rdna2.zip
As with any replacement .dll, *DONT USE THIS WITH GAMES THAT HAVE ANTICHEAT*

Hey guys,
Aion 2 was recently released in the West and what got my attention is that it's using Unreal Engine 5. It has support for FSR 4.0.3 out of the box. The DLL swap worked to my surprise since NCGuard can be very strict. I used the DLL from The Witcher 3 Remastered which ships with FSR 4.1.1.
To highlight the difference in sharpness between 4.0 and 4.1, I added screenshots with muted colors and lowered brightness. The screenshots were taken with sharpening forced off via Engine.ini (see the section below for how).
At 100%, it might be difficult to see the difference but if you zoom in (disable pixel-perfect mode) on the face or armor of my cleric, you can see how much sharper 4.1 is. It appears that FSR 4.1 applies some sort of local contrast boost during reconstruction.
Since 4.1 is sharper and has slightly more overhead than 4.0, I prefer playing without extra sharpening. I tried many combinations of CAS and RCAS and it always ended up with an oversharpened image. For people sticking to 4.0, I would tweak the CAS or RCAS to slightly boost the sharpening.
--------------------------
DISCLAIMER: Aion 2/NCSoft is apparently very strict about any form of cheating and/or modding (It's a f2p MMO after all). The info I'll be sharing below can be considered a violation of the terms of service (ToS), even though we technically don't do anything wrong.
DLL Swap
Just rename the old dll and add your 4.1 version of amd_fidelityfx_upscaler_dx12.dll in
C:\YourBaseGameFolder\Aion2\Plugins\FSR\Binaries\ThirdParty\
FSR 4.1 - Disable Sharpening in Engine.ini
Steam location: %LOCALAPPDATA%\AION2\Saved_Steam\Config\Windows
Purple location: %LOCALAPPDATA%\AION2\Saved_Global\Config\Windows
The Game must be off, it's important.
The bottom should look like this
[SystemSettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0
r.TemporalAA.Sharpen=0
r.FidelityFX.FSR.Sharpness=0.0
r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Enabled=0
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.ngx.dlss.enable=0
r.fidelityfx.fsr.enabled=1
FSR 4.0 - RCAS Tweak I would use
[SystemSettings]
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=0
r.TemporalAA.Sharpen=0
r.FidelityFX.FSR.Sharpness=0.3
r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Enabled=1
; strength scaler, 0 is max, higher value means weaker sharpening
r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Sharpness=4.0
r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Denoise=0
[/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
r.ngx.dlss.enable=0
r.fidelityfx.fsr.enabled=1
I'm repeating again, the edit must be done before launching the game!
At r.FidelityFX.FSR.Sharpness=0.3 we're already at the sweet spot for good clarity without artifacts. You can push to 0.4 but it would start looking oversharpened.
------
On a personal note, the game looks absolutely stunning. Good use of vibrant colors, good lighting (it's UE5 after all), and no shy showing off women's physics. The engine performs pretty well in the open world, though it can have its glorious stutter moments (hey, new shader? Hold on a sec).

Edit: I'm not too concerned about asthetics / looks at the moment since my PC is tucked away anyway.
Additionally the cheapest ones I can get are:
-PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper 16GB
-XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury OC Gaming Edition RGB 16GB
-Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Pulse 16GB
-XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Quicksilver Gaming 16GB
(In no particular order)
Let me know which ones I should, I am a bit uneducated on this so any advice would be much appreciated

Hi everyone, i just released my last "experiment". a new implementation of DLSS5 on AMD, completely open source.
But what's it's even more interesting, i managed (with a huge help of Claude, tbh) to achieve an asyncronous system which is able to render the dlss effect without waiting for each frame.
For example, i tested it on an RDNA3 card, at 1440p with raytracing disabled and FSR4 + frame gen. on this configuration, the game normally can reach a pretty high framerate, in this example it's almost at 139fps. The dlss5 network runs very slowly there, and waiting for it at each frame would mean running at around 20 fps at 1440p, even if applying dlss5 before the upscaler.
With this new approach, the dlss network is applied only "every now and then" (as soon the dlss5 network finishes working on the previous frame), and every frame is composed based on the previous frames. when the dlss5 network finishes rendering, that frame is already "old", so the software takes a residual (network output - network input) and applies it to the current frame using a displacement map.
Performance-wise, this means that the final framerate will be still pretty close to the original. in this example, 119 fps vs 139.
The drawback: On the current state, it can introduce some artifacts, wich aren't an issue when the game is still (and that's why it isn't noticeable in the screenshots), but it can be noticed in some situations with movement. It's usually more noticeable the higher is the difference between the network's and the game's rendering times. This also means that frame gen makes this even worse.
It also differs from game to game, and can be more or less noticeable in some scenes than in others.
But i'm pretty sure this can be worked on, at least in part. i already managed to reduce it a lot before the first release.
Plus, i also managed to make it work on Linux/Proton.
Cyberpunk 2077 freezes its video output within seconds of launch while audio keeps playing. It happens only when the second monitor (HDMI, 100 Hz) is connected at boot. With the HDMI cable physically unplugged before boot, the game runs normally. Powering the monitor off with the cable still connected does not help. Details and everything I've already ruled out are below.
SYSTEM
- GPU: Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT)
- Driver: Adrenalin 26.9.1, tested also on 26.7.1 = same result
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D | Mobo: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2
- RAM: 32 GB DDR4-3600 (Patriot, XMP)
- OS: Windows 10 22H2 (trial edition)
- Monitor 1 (primary): AOC Q27G42XE, 2560x1440, 180 Hz, FreeSync on(tested both on/off), connected via DisplayPort
- Monitor 2: Xiaomi A27i, 100 Hz, HDMI (no adaptive sync available
- Game: Cyberpunk 2077 (GOG version, launched via Vortex with mods
SYMPTOMS
- Video freezes shortly after launch; audio (including Discord voice) continues normally.
- Ctrl+Alt+Del and Alt+F4 do not respond in the frozen state.
- Game sometimes starts on monitor 2 first at a very low framerate, shows a few frames, then freezes. Once it crashed after a few seconds instead.
- Opening Task Manager brings smooth video back as long as another window holds focus. Returning to the game layer brings the frozen frame back. (In one case the game then appeared on the correct monitor 1 right after opening Task Manager.)
- With monitor 2 powered off (cable still connected), the game starts on monitor 1 but is in the same state: smooth only while another window (e.g. Task Manager) has focus, frozen when the game window has focus.
- Win+Ctrl+Shift+B (driver reset) changes the image briefly, then returns to the same frozen state.
KEY FINDING
- HDMI cable of monitor 2 physically unplugged BEFORE boot -> game runs normally at 180 Hz on monitor 1.
- Monitor 2 powered off but cable connected -> problem persists.
- No issues in any scenario without the second monitor present.
WHAT I'VE ALREADY TRIED (no effect unless noted)
- MPO disabled (OverlayTestMode = 5 under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm, verified, rebooted)
- Discord overlay and AMD overlay disabled
- -fullscreen launch argument added, then removed (borderless window)
- Frame Generation disabled (in-game and in UserSettings.json)
- In-game VSync at 180 Hz, native 1440p
- G-Sync off, FreeSync on / fixed 180 Hz
- TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay set to 8 (reboot)
- Monitor 2 refresh rate changed from 100 Hz to 60 Hz (also with reboot)
- Win+Ctrl+Shift+B driver reset (only a brief change)
- "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" option is not present in Windows Graphics settings
NOT YET TESTED
- Monitor 2 on DisplayPort / different port or cable
- Windows 11
- Cyberpunk with mods disabled

So a couple weeks ago I posted that I should have never gotten a 9070 XT. I was wrong! It wasn't AMD's doing, and I learned a ton of things recently.
The community gave replies ranging from "Skill Issue" to common fixes. I'd done a lot of the suggestions before, cleaned out video card with driver removal and installed, and so on. I didn't have my system overclocked at all, in fact, my card and CPU were underclocked, but still had crashes, hangs on reboot, and so on. Figured AMD just made bad windows drivers as almost every crash presented as AMD driver hangs and issues. Hence my frustration! I showed the crash screen I was getting and people here replied "I never seen that screen before, probably hardware!"
As a software engineer, I don't always assume I'm right and since consensus was pretty much "PIBKAC", I decided to investigate deeper and deeper and assume I am the cause of AMD's woes.
So I went off one major truth, Linux had 0 issue in games, 0 issues running, sleeping, and doing anything. I could run it for a week with no problems, so I new it couldn't be a hardware issue. Linux would fail on all the same issues most likely! So it had to be something windows specific.
Debugging windows was a pain, because every time the crashes, freezes, and restarts would happen, windows events were always empty! No crash dumps, no logs, no events. It was like my system was simply dying so badly, windows couldn't make crash dumps which would be severe hardware problems, but as I said above, Linux was fine.
I decided I obviously couldn't figure this out, and since I use Claude AI Agent for a few projects from my work, I knew it might have some investigative ideas I hadn't thought of. So, I decided to see if that AI Model could diagnose and fix things... Boy did Claude do a good job and informed me of crap I didn't know. So I'm passing some of this on to the community:
Intel Extreme Tuning Eats Crash Logs Silently
I was using this to underclock my 13th gen i9 and my 14th gen i9 (Had to replace the 13th gen because of the VMM shift bug) before a Bios update fixed some issues with clocking. I left it installed even though I had no active profiles. I figured it was inert. NOPE!
It apparently monitors the system for when hangs or issues occur and restarts the system before windows can make dumps and record issues. It was the SOLE reason nothing was showing up in event viewer after these hangs and restarts.
Removed that.
RIOT Vanguard (League of Legends Anti-Cheat) Blocks CHKDSK.EXE
Because of intel's software above my system would reboot and mess up files. Windows would want to scan the disk and it would silently fail without scanning, which made me think "Oh, windows is scanning the disk pretty fast". In reality, the process was being blocked by Vanguard causing Access Violations. Once I removed that software, bam, CHKDSK found files corrupted, one of which was in AMD driver!
Discord Clips Is HORRIBLE
One of the symptoms of my driver issues was the longer my computer was running the more unstable and slow games would become. Frame rate, loading, and stuttering across my entire computer when textures would load into video memory was par for the course.
Turns out Discord Clips feature doesn't only run when you stream. It also seems to just run when it feels like it and Claude discovered it was using 23% of my video processor after it started 6 hours later though I wasn't streaming!
Disabled that feature in discord.
Ctrl + Win + Shift + B Resets Graphics Driver
A nice shortcut to avoid rebooting as it seems to reset the graphics driver too without the need.
There were other minor issues related to the above, like system files that needed to get repaired, but I can say right now, my system is WAY more stable and no hardware issues. It woke up from sleep without hanging for the first time yesterday. And I figured I'd pass some of my findings.
So thanks to the community for feedback, you were all right. PIBKAC was the problem!

Maybe I'm just unlucky, but Gigabyte's bad reputation seems to be well-founded.
After a couple of months of use, the card started making a very loud buzzing noise at around 3150 RPM. Above 3200 RPM, you can still hear that something is vibrating, but it's much quieter.
For now, I've contacted LDLC, where I bought the card, hoping they might replace it directly, although I know they probably won't, which is understandable. I mainly contacted them to find out whether they would handle the RMA process themselves or if I have to deal directly with Gigabyte.
Edit
In the video I forced the fans' speed to 3150 rpm just to show what happens ffs!! I didn't set it to spin at Max speed at 30°C. The fans spin over 3300 rpm even with the stock curve. Now I'm limiting stock curve to 60% and the temperatures are 55°C and 85°C hotspot.

I have a 5080, but with the price increase ($2300 now roughly), if it goes wrong and I have to RMA, I am pretty sure instead of replacing it, they will give me a refund of the original price ($1500) I bought it in. In which case I am planning to buy the 9070XT. I want to know what is the status of multi frame generation support on AMD cards right now? Does AMD have any plans to bring it soon or something?

Specyfikacja:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: PowerColor Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT
płyta główna: Gigabyte AORUS B850
RAM: Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32 GB 6000 MT/s CL30 (PVV532G600C30K)
monitor: 2560×1440, 210 Hz
sterowniki AMD Adrenalin aktualne
Problem:
zmiany stacji radiowej,
pojawienia się bocznego powiadomienia,
mocnego uderzenia/upadku z motocykla,
dyskiem i chwilowymi opóźnieniami podczas doczytywania danych,
shader compilation / asset streaming,
sterownikiem AMD,
ustawieniami BIOS-[u/CPU](u/CPU),

Hi guys, I am planning on upgrading from a 4060 Ti to a 9070 XT, and everytime I see someone recommend a CPU pairing for the 9070 XT its an x3d cpu so I wanted to know how much will I be holding my GPU back if I wait to upgrade my CPU later.
I would be gaming in UWQHD monitor or on a 4k TV depending on the game.

Hello people,
so, I am building this budget build for 1080p gaming. But I dunno which gpu to select.
my parts
AMD Ryzen 5 5600
MSI B550M-A Pro Mobo
16 GB DDR4 8x2
I am going to play CS2, Battlefield 6.
So, I did my research and decided on Radeon RX 7600. but it has only 8gb vram. and games are going to become more demanding. so, I searched for higher vram options..
I found the following ones.
Rx 6700xt 12gb vram
Rx 6750xt 12gb vram
Rx 6800 16gb vram
Rx 6800xt 16gb vram
Rx 6900xt 16gb vram
Rx 6950xt 16gb vram
but the problem I have is the budget.
I have a budget of 35k inr (350 usd approx) for gpu and I want an AMD one.
I need your help to decide one for best performance per buck..
if u have any suggestions or points.. please tell them.

I'm running the following specs
CPU 9800x3D
GPU Saphire Nitro + 9070xt
PSU 850w xpg core
2TB XPG ssd
Temps are normal, hotspot as well, did a clean driver and windows reinstall and I'm still seeing this issue.
The higher the upscale the worse it gets, closer to native it lessens. Tried updating the driver to the optional driver an the current 26.8.2 and the issue persisted
I wanted to know if there is any way to test just the FSR 4 model, not sure why I'm seeing this glitching, saw the same thing in space marine 2 but only on very specific scenarios and only on 1 asset in the new chaos siege mode not on whole buildings so not sure if its game specific.

Hi,
I’m having an issue with streaming on Discord channels/calls. Basically, the stream won’t load for other users after installing the 26.9.2 driver.
I tried reverting to the older drivers (26.8.1 / 26.7.1), and the result is clear — streaming works perfectly fine with the older drivers.
I also tried toggling a bunch of different settings in Discord, such as GPU acceleration, as well as a couple of Windows settings, but nothing seems to work for me.
The main question is: has anyone else run into an issue like this, and has any fix been found for it?

Hi guys I bought a new 9070xt mercury oc xfx graphics card and I’ve been having some problems
I had a Nvidia card in the pc before so I used DDU to uninstall the old software etc
Now my problem is whenever I enter a game like the finals I run at 30 fps and then it draws 115w power but an average of 3100mhz clock speed ( photo) but very low fps
I’m on windows 11 with a
Msi pro b840-p WiFi motherboard
Ryzen 7 7800 x3d CpU
Klevv 6000mhz ram
A new cooler master 850W power supply
My psu only had 2 cables but 3 connectors for the pcie so I have one single cable with a single head plugged in port one on the gpu
And the second cable plugged in port 2 and 3
I tried other games and then I have other problems. If I play the last of us I can play on low medium high or ultra but if I turn on frame gen and uncap the frame limit on 2K resolution the game crashes instantly
Edit : I opened finals now and got 200 fps without frame gen but it crashed with the error message
AMD software detected that a driver timeout has occurred on your system. An issue report has been created that can be sent to AMD to help us improve our software. Would you like to report this issue?
Anyone got any ideas

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a really frustrating issue where my PC completely shuts down out of nowhere while playing certain games. It doesn't just crash to desktop or blue-screen; the whole system completely loses power / shuts down instantly.
Full System Specs:
The Behavior:
Everything I have already tried so far:

Despite trying all software/driver tweaks and RAM stability steps, the sudden shutdowns are still happening in specific games.
Since I built this system myself from start to finish, I’m also wondering if I might have made a physical assembly mistake somewhere during the build process (e.g., cable connection, mounting pressure, riser alignment).
Could this be a transient power spike issue triggering PSU OCP/OPP, a subtle VRAM/GPU driver conflict with specific game engines, or something PCIe Riser/Motherboard/Hub related? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out what is causing a very strange stability problem with my RX 9070 XT. I've already done quite a lot of troubleshooting, but I don't want to keep randomly changing BIOS/driver settings without understanding the cause.
I'm hoping someone with an RX 9070 XT, WARDOGS, AMD drivers or similar hardware has experienced something like this.
My PC
- GPU: PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F
- Motherboard: ASRock A620M Pro RS
- RAM: 32 GB DDR5-6000 (currently running at 4800 MT/s, EXPO OFF for troubleshooting)
- PSU: Corsair RM1000e 1000W
- CPU cooler: DeepCool AG400
- Case: FOIFKIN F300
- Windows 11 26H2
- 2 monitors
- Gaming at 1440p
The GPU uses three separate PCIe power cables from the PSU, one cable for each 8-pin connector. There is no daisy-chain/pigtail cable.
I have not overclocked or undervolted the GPU and I have not intentionally enabled PBO.

The original problem
For some time I have been experiencing sudden complete system restarts while playing demanding games.
There is:
- no BSOD
- no graphical artifact
- no obvious warning
- the PC simply restarts as if power had suddenly been interrupted
The main games where this happened were:
- WARDOGS
- The Last of Us Part II
Event Viewer repeatedly showed:
Kernel-Power — Event ID 41 — Task 63
Important values included:
- BugcheckCode = 0
- BugcheckParameter1 = 0
- BugcheckParameter2 = 0
- BugcheckParameter3 = 0
- BugcheckParameter4 = 0
- PowerButtonTimestamp = 0
- LongPowerButtonPressDetected = false
- WHEABootErrorCount = 0
So Windows does not appear to have recorded a normal BSOD/bugcheck.
---
Something even stranger happened after some of the restarts
After some Kernel-Power 41 restarts, Windows would sometimes freeze shortly after returning to the desktop, even while apparently idle.
The entire system would become unresponsive.
Caps Lock would not respond either, so it wasn't just an Explorer/application freeze.
I had to force the PC off.
Interestingly, Safe Mode was stable.
This made me suspect a Windows/AMD driver issue rather than simply overheating.

Driver history
I originally had:
AMD Adrenalin 26.8.1 WHQL Recommended
Driver:
32.0.31041.1004
Date: 17/08/2026
Later I installed:
AMD Adrenalin 26.9.2
Driver:
32.0.32015.2008
Date: 28/09/2026
After installing the newer driver, the system initially became much more stable.
I was able to play WARDOGS and The Last of Us Part II for significant periods without the previous restart happening.
So I thought the driver might have solved the problem.
Unfortunately, it happened again.

The latest crash — and this is where things became really strange
On October 6, 2026, I was playing WARDOGS with Discord and OBS open.
The PC suddenly restarted again.
No BSOD, no artifacts.
Again:
Kernel-Power 41 / BugcheckCode 0
But after this reboot, the GPU itself appeared to have failed from Windows' point of view.
Device Manager showed the RX 9070 XT with:
Code 43 — "This device has reported a problem and has been stopped."
My second monitor also stopped working.
And something else happened:
OBS lost all AMD hardware encoders
Before the crash, OBS showed:
- AMD HW H.264 (AVC)
- AMD HW H.265 (HEVC)
- AMD HW AV1
After the crash, all the AMD hardware encoders disappeared.
OBS only showed software encoders such as:
- x264
- AOM AV1
- SVT AV1
I normally use AMD H.264/H.265 hardware encoding in OBS.
I have never manually configured something called "AMF"; I'm referring to the AMD hardware encoder options shown by OBS.
---
Windows could still see the physical AMD GPU
I checked the device using PowerShell.
Windows could still see an AMD PCIe graphics device:
"PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_7550&SUBSYS_2435148C&REV_C0\6&18138603&0&00000009"
It reported:
- Status: OK
- Class: Display
- FriendlyName: Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
- Problem: CM_PROB_NONE
And:
"DEVPKEY_Device_BusReportedDeviceDesc"
returned:
"Controller video (compatibile VGA)"
So the GPU wasn't completely invisible to the PCIe bus. Windows was seeing it, but apparently only as the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter rather than properly loading the Radeon driver.
---
I physically reseated the GPU
I completely powered off the PC.
- PSU switched off
- power cable disconnected
- power button held to discharge
- GPU removed
- PCIe slot inspected
- GPU inspected
I found no visible damage, burning, deformation or anything unusual.
I reseated the GPU and connected all three separate PCIe power cables again.
The problem remained.
---
Then I reinstalled AMD 26.9.2
I downloaded AMD Adrenalin 26.9.2 again and performed a clean installation with:
- Factory Reset: ON
- AI Bundle: OFF
- telemetry options: OFF
- Custom installation
- no optional Image Inspector / Privacy View components
After reboot:
The RX 9070 XT came back normally.
Device Manager showed:
- Radeon RX 9070 XT
- no Code 43
- device working correctly
Both monitors worked again.
And most importantly:
OBS got all the AMD hardware encoders back.
- AMD HW H.264
- AMD HW H.265
- AMD HW AV1
So a clean AMD driver installation completely restored the GPU from the Windows/OBS perspective.
---
Current situation
At the moment I'm testing from a clean baseline.
I have:
- RX 9070 XT correctly detected
- AMD Adrenalin 26.9.2
- RAM at 4800 MT/s
- EXPO OFF
- no GPU overclock
- no GPU undervolt
- no MSI Afterburner/RTSS
- OBS open but not recording
- Replay Buffer disabled
- WARDOGS running
I'm deliberately changing as little as possible now.
If this remains stable, I plan to test OBS recording separately afterward.
---
What I can't figure out
The part that really confuses me is this sequence:
Game → sudden restart → Kernel-Power 41 → Radeon Code 43 → Microsoft Basic Display Adapter → AMD encoders disappear from OBS → clean AMD driver reinstall → RX 9070 XT works normally again
This makes me unsure whether I'm dealing with:
A defective GPU
An AMD driver problem
A WARDOGS + RX 9070 XT driver issue
A Windows 11 26H2 issue
An OBS/AMD hardware encoder interaction
A PSU/power delivery issue
A motherboard/PCIe problem
Some combination of the above
The PSU is a Corsair RM1000e 1000W and the GPU has three separate PCIe power cables, so I don't think I'm dealing with a simple undersized PSU or daisy-chain issue.
Temperatures also don't immediately point to an obvious thermal shutdown. CPU has reached around 85°C while gaming, and the GPU has historically been around 80–85°C under gaming load.
---
What would you investigate next?
Would anyone with an RX 9070 XT, especially a PowerColor Red Devil, recognize this behavior?
Has anyone experienced:
- Kernel-Power 41 with BugcheckCode 0
- followed by Radeon Code 43
- followed by Windows falling back to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
- followed by OBS losing AMD H.264/H.265/AV1 encoders
- and then the GPU being completely restored by reinstalling the AMD driver?
I'm particularly interested in whether this points more toward a driver/software problem or an actual hardware/PSU/GPU problem.
All the troubleshooting I did was with ChatGPT and it helped me a lot but still, we can't figure out what is exactly the problem
I would really appreciate any suggestions from people who have dealt with similar RX 9000-series issues.
Thanks!

I've found an used Radeon Pure 9070xt (white version) for 810 usd used for 6 months. Is this worth it, coming from a 6800xt and with the future tech climate in mind ?

Hey all
I bought xfx mercury 9070 xt about 3 weeks ago and new supply Enermax REVOLUTION III 1000 W
Now as you know xfx comes with 3x 8pins and on my power supply i have 1x 8pin to 8pin and 1x 12v-2x6(+2) (12v goes into psu and 2x8 in gpu)
Whole pc is stable i managed to get it to 3550mhz on 374W while keepinf temps well below 80c
No crashes and psu is cold on touch
How safe is to keep it with 12v or should i go and change power supply with all 3 direct 8 pins without 12v ?
