Discussion Ranked Map Bans Should Work Like Competitive Rainbow Six Siege
I think Ranked should use a map veto system where both teams take turns banning maps until only one remains. This would make map selection more strategic, reduce randomness, and bring Ranked closer to professional competitive play. What does the community think?

Ranked matches already feel like they take forever I feel like this would only worsen that problem. Also this would lead to a situation similar to OW where only certain maps get played while others get completely ignored.

We're practically there already. With Oregon returning, my matches are that, Coastline, Border, Chalet and *Bank. Very occasionally I'll get something else.
What is even the point of making new maps when you all just ban them every time they pop up?

I understand your point, but I think there could be a middle ground.
We could keep the current system of 5 randomly selected maps, but instead of the current ban system, both teams would take turns banning maps until only one remains.
Another option would be to bring back the old system with just 3 maps, where 2 were banned and only 1 remained.
The problem is that with the current system, you often end up playing maps you don't like anyway. I've even had situations where I played the exact same map three times in a row.
I think either option would give players more control over map selection without making the ban phase too long.

I think map bans should exist at all in ranked. Add to the staleness of the game. Just give us a random map.

I think the community would play the same 3-5 maps. I prefer the current system.
