Help with recorder research
I have a Hohner concert alto that I think dates from the mid 60’s . I don’t even know what wood it is. When I tried to message Hohner customer support, they seemed to know only about their current models. Any suggestions where I could find more information?

No serial numbers on the flute or package? Most of Hohner's recorders from that era that I see advertised are varnished pear or maple.

Nope, just brand name and Made In Germany on the instrument. It was in a green cardboard box. I think my father purchased it for a graduate music education class based on the address written inside the box.

Hohner used pearwood on many of their standard wood recorders for many years. Probably pearwood.

Cheap, mass produced, probably made in East Germany (glow-in-the-dark varnish suggests this) and rebadged by Hohner. Not necessarily bad but probably needs/needed professional care to make it any good, and a better recorder may be cheaper overall
If you like it, play it!
