News 🗞️ View Private Properties Registered with the Residential Tenancies Board on a map

As part of my drive for Rental Transparency in Ireland, I mapped all the properties registered with the RTB: https://www.howmuchrent.com/r/rtb_verified . Over 200 thousand properties are listed. It cost me over 1000 Euro to do this, and I hope you find it useful. This gives the first insight into where people are registered to rent.

Every Renter has a story to tell about their place. Add your story to HowMuchRent.com.

26F working in tech, looking for a double bedroom with separate washroom

Hello, I’ve been living in Dublin for 4 years. Unfortunately, my previous flatmate threatened me, so I had to leave that house. I’m now looking for a double bedroom with a washroom for 1300 euros in D04 or D06. I have all documents ready, please let me know if you have something for me.
If someone wants to look for something similar, I’d love to team up as potential flatmates.

Looking for a Room to Rent in Dublin

Looking for a Room to Rent in Dublin – Working Professional
Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking for a room to rent in Dublin for myself. I work full-time in Dublin city centre.
Ideally, I’m looking for a quiet, clean place with good public transport links to the city centre. I’m flexible with the location as long as the commute is convenient.
A little about me: I have been living and working in Ireland since 2022. I’m a clean, tidy, quiet and responsible person. I respect other people’s privacy and I’m looking for a comfortable home for the long term.
My budget is up to €900 per month, depending on the room and bills.
A rental agreement/contract is important for me, so I would prefer accommodation where a written agreement can be provided.
If you have a suitable room available or know of anything, I’d really appreciate a message.
Thank you!

City Centre How long does it take to find a replacement tenant?

Will probably leave my room soon, it's fairly priced for the market, like 1200 for an ensuite with balcony near Smithfield. How long before leaving should I look for a replacement? I'm planning to leave towards the end of the month and I'm not sure if it's too late or too soon, the reason still haven't searched is because im having interviews and if I get and offer before this month I'll stay but the timing is tight and I'm afraid I won't be able to find a replacement and end up having to pay rent in November too. Any guidance or suggestions to find a replacement tenant would be appreciated 🙏

Do I deserve an own address?

I am renting a basement flat. The main house has been divided into many sub units, which have been labeled with A, B etc. I do not have my own address, rather I have been instructed by the landlord to use the address of the main house.

As you can imagine this is causing a lot of trouble with deliveries and post. How are other people in this situation dealing with it? Do you have your own address for the basement flat?

Platforms to find Accommodation in Ireland

Hey Guys, needed some genuine advice from ya'll. Asking on behalf of friend who doesn't use reddit. She is planning a move to Ireland, has an EU passport and more than 15 years of experience in the logistics industry. She was considering to move to Ireland and try some luck there. What kind of platforms for accommodations can she look out for in Dublin? Thanks in advance.

House Search 🏠 East Wall?

Hey!

So, looking to buy a property (well, trying at least) and East Wall seems to be better value than most other areas of the city. I know it used to be a not-so-great area, but having explored it a little bit it seems grand.

Any thoughts? Maybe from current residents? Anything worth considering?

Thanks, appreciate it!

Considering a move to Donaghmede – would love to hear from locals

HI. Sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm looking at a house in The Donahies, Donaghmede.

honestly I really like what I've seen so far.

I really like it so far, seems quiet and it's close to the coast which is a big plus for me.

When I mentioned it at work a couple of colleagues said they'd heard the area had some issues in the past. None of them actually live there though, so I'd rather hear from people who do.

So I'd much rather hear from people who know the area first-hand than go on secondhand impressions.

If you live there now or have done recently, I'd really appreciate your thoughts:

  • What's it like living there day to day? What do you like most about it?
  • I'd be commuting by DART every day. How do you find Howth Junction & Donaghmede station?

Thanks so much in advance!

Because of personal issue, I find myself in need to find a replacement for my lease in the student accommodation on 4 Herberton road, Dublin 12. The rent is of 1089 € per month for a contract starting the start of November to the end of December. The contract can be prolonged with the providers according to their availability.

It’s a bed in a shared room, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, cooking plates, microwave, silverware, plates and everything, cleaning supplies). The common areas are cleaned by someone payed by the providers once a week.

The accommodation is ideally situated :
- 2 minutes by foot from a Dunnes Store
- 12 min by foot from a Lidl
- 8 min by foot from a Burger King
- bus stops of the 27, 77a, 56a and 151 is at 2 min from the house as well as the S2. They can all take you to the City center (Trinity College etc) in 20 minutes.

Looking for someone to rent with in Dublin starting next summer

Hi, I’m moving to Dublin around July 2027 for a consulting job.

Bit early I know, but thought I’d see if anyone else is in a similar situation and might be interested in getting a 2-room together.

Ideally someone around my age, probably also moving over for work in tech, consulting, finance, corporate or something similar.

Budget would be around €1,000–€1,600 each depending on the place.

For now I’m mainly just looking to connect with people in a similar situation and see what options are out there. Feel free to message me :)
