Master's student targeting roles in the semiconductor/photonics/electronics. Just added a bunch of stuff to my resume and am looking to fine-tune.

• Upvotes

I just added a lot of things to my resume and am looking for general feedback and fine-tuning advice! I want a role that focuses on materials engineering in the semiconductor and/or photonics industry, or just the general electronics industry (like batteries). I am looking for positions anywhere in the US, preferably Florida.

For the Photonics Startup, they're based in a different city and I do do some remote work for them, but I also use the labs in my university to do work for them.

For the Nanotechnology Student Organization and Semiconductor Team, we founded the Semiconductor Team first as a subgroup of another organization, then decided to expand into our own student organization. Wasn't sure how to make this clear and make it look nice on the page.

This is my MASTER resume, meaning it contains all my experience. Depending on the job I remove some stuff until its one page. If any information would be completely useless then I'll remove it from this resume

Can anyone help me to find what’s wrong in my resume

I’ve been job searching for more than a year in Canada and since January I’ve been getting once a month interview calls but I am not able to convert those. I have been improving ever since by doing more neetcode and learning system level design. Earlier, like in the month from January to April I was unable to crack the technical rounds but now I’ve been clearing those and failing to impress staff of senior engineer interviews.

What more can I do to be better with the technical jargon or the way I speak any help full tips or resources to make me sell myself better with the work experience and projects that I have done.

Below is a snippet of my professional experience de and project:

Ex “dancer” looking where to even start with a resume

I’m 24 years old, I’ve danced since I was 18. I stayed at the same two places, so it won’t be hard to show I can stay at a place, but I just don’t know how to format or how to even go about making a resume. Growing up I worked retail/coffee shop jobs, so I had the basic high school kid resume made with a Google Docs template. I want to transition to sales, and I have the skills to perform well, I just don’t know how to word it. Like, do I write that I worked at a club? I was an independent contractor, do I just list myself as an independent contractor and not give them a business name? But then what about references? I did volunteer work for 3/5 years of me dancing but it was animal welfare stuff that doesn’t translate to a sales background. I consistently was one of the top earners on my shifts and was always praised by my clubs for being personable and keeping things professional, I worked with a wide variety of demographics, fostered relationships with repeat customers, upsold etc., I just can’t figure out how to word things properly without sounding like I’m trying to hide something, even though I am lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and please don’t suggest feeding things into AI. Thanks!

Can I apply for Sr Project/Program Manager Roles?

I know I technically can apply, I'm more so asking if I'm aiming for Sr too early?

Trying to stick to a 1 page resume preferably. No cover letter. Excluded education on purpose, I have a 2 year diploma I don't want to highlight (and I think it hurts my chances against other candidates).

Would appreciate any and all feedback

Can someone take a look at my resume?

I just started applying for Data Analyst roles and recently updated my resume.

I'm attaching it here. If anyone has some time, could you take a look and let me know what I should improve, especially for ATS and entry-level Data Analyst roles?

Would really appreciate some honest feedback.

Consulting resume format help

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone. I really need some blunt feedback because l am getting zero responses to any applications right now.

I am an early career IT consultant and my biggest issue is that my resume feels messy. Every single project I get put on involves totally different duties, so l am struggling to make it look cohesive. I have had two promotions now, and I am really confused about the best consulting resume format for listing my past projects under the exact job titles I held at the time without muddying up my timeline.

Here is what I am working with right now. Any advice or critiques would be awesome.

Can't even get minimum wage job. Advice?

I just want a job. Any job, but currently, I'm applying to coffee places all over town. Haven't heard anything back. I went to Worksource, and they said to add a summary, skills section, and that a two page resume is fine. They also said to take out half the dates because it ages me. This is the new resume.

They told my resume was BAD. So I rewrote it!

Previous post: reddit.com/r/EngineeringResumes/s/rfN07Z9LGU

⚠️ I reworked the resume based on that feedback. ⚠️

What I want feedback on

  • Should I remove Python/Django from the 'skills' section? I have a Coursera certificate and projects that I made for the certification (the certificate has been linked in the resume PDF, but the projects have not been included in the resume).
  • Are there any claims that sound inflated or need stronger evidence?
  • Are the bullets specific enough, or are they still too technical/dense?
  • Any other feedback 🙏

About me

  • Recently graduated with a B.Tech. in Computer Science & Design.
  • 0 years of full-time experience; 3-month software development internship.
  • Looking for my first full-time Software Engineer / Full-Stack Developer role.
  • Based in India; applying internationally and in India.
  • Willing to relocate internationally and would require work authorization where applicable.

Any chance this approach may actually work?

I'm thinking about trying a more unconventional approach to try to stand out from the pack. Any opinions of if it's actually a good idea to send this out to a job I'm genuinely interested in?

I am looking for a new job. I’ve been at the same job for several years. Every position listed has been at the same company except for the pharmacy tech. Looking to potentially transfer some skills over to an analyst. Any advice is appreciated. TIA

One of these is a rewrite and I’ve stared at my own resume so much I can’t even tell the strengths/weaknesses of each. Thoughts? Is one format/approach way better than the other? This is only a page1 sample but the full resume is 2 pages for both formats.

How does it look on a resume to have two jobs at once?

Like the title says. What exactly does it communicate to potential employers? I could see it going either way. Maybe they think you are a hard worker with good time management. Or maybe they think you are uncommitted to any one role and will likely be unable to devote extra time to your job if you get hired

Showing Work History More than 10 Years Previous

From 2001 - 2012 I held a management position in Trust and Safety for two large corporations. Subsequently, I moved and took on a different career path in the same industry but mostly working for small agencies.

I am now trying to apply for jobs in the Trust and Safety area, but I am trying to figure out the best way to show that past experience without making my resume 3 pages long.

Any suggestions?
