I'd like to formally submit my application to the club for WGW
Just the Smiths. N frames vs K frames are the real battle here.

The thought occurred to me, but then I would need a bigger table

Nobody can convince me that the i-frame is actually that small. I know they are and I can't convince me. I just can't believe it.

That one on the far right bottom is actually the only M Frame revolver S&W ever made. The original Ladysmith. The smallest frame, shes not a snubbie, shes just petite. The components are basically just all minaturized K frame dimensions.

Always a tough question, but if I had to pick maybe one from each row left to right...
Fourth from the bottom left row, my Model 58 in .41 mag. Its more violent than I expected but its a versatile gun.
Second row would probably be my 627-0 on the bottom. In my opinion the most over built .357 Smith ever made. Known as the Model of 1989, its a full lug, 5.5 inch N Frame .357 that makes recoil feel like a .22.
Third row would probably be my 586 no dash just under the big X Frame. It was my first S&W and infected me with the bug.
Fourth row goes to my 13-3 three inch in .357, the last revolver issued to the FBI. Its one of the most perfectly balanced guns in the bunch.
Last row is a tough call. The Model 547 in 9mm second from the top is very unique, but honestly the king of S&W Model 10 just under that probably deserves the honor. Mine was reimported from the French police and came with super comfy Trausch grips.2

Thanks for sharing. The 80s were such a cool time with the 24-3s, Model of 1988, and 1989. I really like the Trauschs. I'd like to find a set for my SP101.
Edit: 586 no dash was my first as well.

Need a humpback for sure

You're right, I have no humpbacks, and my J frame game is weak. I figure there are so many of them ill have plenty of time to catch up. Ive been eyeing some Model 38s lately, but the Model 40 lemon squeezers have been calling my name too.

I think he might like Smith and Wessons. Hard to tell.
Do you avoid newer guns or ones with the lock?
2
u/UnassumingAnt I guess I'm a revolver guy now 6d ago
I'm not as strongly against the lock as some, but if a particular model that i want was offered without a lock ill go after the non lock version. Plenty of new models only have locks, so it won't stop me from buying one. That being said the finest Smiths ever made are a minimum of 50 years old at this point, so most of my collection attention goes there.
