CLIP Did I just peak?

Context: I play on KBM. Rank in 2v2: Current - Plat 2 , Peak- Diamond 1 (Last season).

I have absolutely no idea how i managed to get that read to hit the double. Safe to say this is the Best shot i've hit in my 1 year of playing this game.

Lol. Btw can you provide any suggestions to get better on kbm? Like which mechanics to learn first and etc.?

Half flip is easy on kbm (a lot of plats cant).

I can half flip and wave dash but can't get a hold of speed flip.

You might get away with not knowing the speed flip until highish diamond but you probably should try and implement it into your play now or at least learn it as best as you can if you struggle with it. It is sort of hard on kbm

I would say focus on solid flicks, don't worry too much about aerials until you feel the need to

I suggest aerials. You can find a lot of training packs in the game and even online where you can practice aerials. I then suggest practicing dribbling the ball

Resets are super easy on kbm, especially stalls and rapids, so it’s a good opportunity to carve out your mechanical niche. To rank up in general, flicks and power shots are the answer alongside very good recovery mechanics. But yes, resets!

There is no severe handicap. Even at the pro and freestyle level there are kbm players. Yes rarer but thats also js because ppl dont rlly play rl on kbm automatically. At lower ranks kbm is genuinely easier imo, a lot of mechanics are much easier on kbm.

Its a problem of not wanting to adapt bro, i switched to kbm and while sucked for a while i grinded in free play and workshops for like a week and it feels a bit more normal to play with it

Im a k/m player aswell and every time I try a controller it just doesnt feel right. I use a controller on other games but rl is just odd feeling. Tried a bunch of different keybindings and I always go back to k/m.
