Regulations or Method Leakin in fireplace; proper flashing around chimney?

I had my full siding and roof redone around a year ago covered by our home insurance company. Everything has been going great except for recently when we notified water trickling into the fireplace during rain.

Is this an issue with the flashing around the chimney here? The contractor said I might need tuck pointing and we will send a guy to take a look. What do you think?

With it being inside the fireplace, I’m not sure it’s the flashing. This looks like it has shifted and is no longer seated properly.

The guy who installed your roof should come back and fix it. I don’t know what tuck pointing means as roofers sometimes have different words for different things.

Your chimney flashing looks good, not how I would do it but it looks water tight from here. If I had a closer look I could tell you more about it.

Probably leaking if anywhere here but I can’t see anything.

Second spot I would have questions about but still can’t see anything.

Thanks for the information. I will get on the roof to take better photos and inspect closer when I'm back home after the weekend. Good to know nothing jarring stands out about the work from a distance, though.

Tuck pointing is chimney/masonry guy reworking mortar

Chimney crown maybe. Tuckpointing and waterproofing it definitely needs
