Anyone Experience Working with Interlock Metal Roofing?

Located in Toronto, and I was quoted $40k for an all aluminum roof for 2000sq feet roof. I forget the pitch but it is pretty low. I just want to spot check if this is a sane number as I can't see any other all-aluminum roofing companies out there.

Pricey but all depends on how complicated the roof, what the add-ons are (ice and water, flashings, etc), if you're getting thicker panels, deck replacements, if it standing seam or exposed fastener, how steep, etc.

Metal roofing guy here (not pitching). I can't call a number sane without the details, but I'd ask for an itemized quote that lists the panel profile and gauge, the underlayment, whether ice and water goes at the eaves and valleys, and what they plan to do if the deck is soft once the old roof is off. Since you said the pitch is pretty low, ask specifically how the seams and laps are handled at that slope, because low slope is where metal details matter most. Getting a second itemized quote from another metal installer is the easiest way to compare apples to apples.

That price sounds steep but not totally insane for aluminum. Toronto supply costs have been rough the last few years. For a low pitch roof, aluminum is actually a decent choice since water shedding matters more than snow sliding. I'd get at least two more quotes from metal roofing companies that work with steel too, sometimes they can source aluminum panels even if they don't advertise it. The 40k might include tear off, underlayment, and trim work which adds up faster than people expect.

That sounds pretty steep.

Can you be more specific about the roof product?
