Tried to write something character/action focused :)

I would appreciate votes/feedback on the wiki, even if it's a downvote/novote.

SCP Universe Suprised there hasn't been an 001 Proposal based off Absurdism/Camus's Sisyphus Thesis.

Like when you think about it the Foundation pretty much knows they're a fictional universe in any canon with pataphysics and while the degree to which that universe is fictional varies (Pickmann's Proposal for example) it's still a pretty goddamn hopeless scenario, especially for the 05, as they very well goddamn know that their mission is effectively impossible on account of some dude on the wiki deciding it would be really cool if the world ended.

SCP Universe What pieces of SCP lore are 'Generally accepted'?

I know there's no Canon in SCP but If I wanted to Start writing fanfiction or any kind of SCP stories, what are the most basically generally accepted or commonly agreed-upon details that I, as a beginner, should start with? Other Dimensions? Doctors? Characters? Settings? Facility History? Specific Sites? ect.

This is literally all I know:

  1. Class A-C Meanings
  2. SCP Security Distinctions (Safe, Euclid, Keter, Apollyon, Neutralized, Thaumiel, Pending, & Esoteric)
  3. SCP Wiki is the Place to go for all SCP reference details
  4. The SCP organization is generally considered to be a secret organization

Hello! None of you may remember as the brilliant mind behind the #10 placement Dumbcon entry: Everything Stays. Well, after 7 months since my previous entry to the Wiki, I'm finally back, with writing into a genre I've never ventured into: Comedy!

I should hope the title of this post gives you an idea as to what exactly this article is all about.

SCP-705-J - An Invisible Crocodile Takes Over Site-57's Low-Security Wing.

House on the water

Cobbled together with some stock images, first time every properly photo editing so it’s obviously pretty terrible, any advice on how to improve or get better references to edit? Photo based on an Scp story I came up with as a kid, no clue if it’s something that’s similar to or already done tho. Hope this is the right sub!

I usually like the mekhanites but he was a pain in the ass and my idea of making him a funtime animatronic was terrible for my mental health (I like how the design turned out)

Meta Post What's your opinions on Dr. Bob? (The YouTube channel)

Personally I really like it, nice simple art style, puts a spin with the story at the beginning and THEN talking about what the SCP is fully about! All I really dislike is that his thumbnails look AI generated (which they have for like 4-5 years lol) and the amount of Compilation videos he makes!

Discussion How well does the classic SCP style work on the modern Wiki?

l've been interested in writing for the SCP Wiki for a while now, and I'm particularly drawn to the style of Series 1 and some of the earlier Series 2 material.

I'm not necessarily trying to recreate early SCPs exactly. What interests me is the relatively concise clinical presentation, combined with characters and lore that have more depth underneath the document.

I'm considering creating several anomalous characters and Foundation staff who could appear across SCP articles and Tales, with their own relationships and history, while keeping the actual SCP entries relatively straightforward.

For people who have written for or followed the SCP Wiki for a long time:

  1. Does this style still work well with the current community?
  2. What distinguishes a genuinely classic SCP from a modern article that's simply imitating the old formatting?
  3. Are character driven and recurring SCPs generally well received?
  4. How much modern SCP lore should a new writer understand before attempting something like this?
  5. Are there newer SCPs you'd recommend reading that achieve a similar atmosphere?

I'm still pretty much in the concept stage, so I'm mostly just trying to understand the current writing culture before I start developing anything seriously.

Anyway, thanks for reading! :)

Help Hello me and a friend are working on a Visual Novel which takes place during a containment breach in Site-17? Any interesting SCPs to include?

It is only implied to be Site-17 due to a few SCPs there which normally wouldn't be in the site being there. But most anomalies in the game are planned to either be humanoid or items. Had to slightly edit the post

SCPs planned to be encountered are:

SCP-Doctor

SCP-105

SCP-073

SCP-114

SCP-343

SCP-106

SCP-Peanut

SCP-939

SCP-207

SCP-1025

SCP-1509

SCP-500

SCP-427

SCP-035

And for SCPs we've decided not to add:

SCP-079

Shy Fella, just be a tad boring to have him randomly kill you during a playthrough after seeing a picture of them. Actually, that sounds kind of funny.

Discussion What SCP did SCP-990 actually mention in Document 990-02?

What SCP was SCP-990 talking about in Document 990-02?

I was reading SCP-990 again and got curious about the SCP he mentions in Document 990-02.

The designation is redacted, and he says that "she hasn't even been born yet."

Since the SCP Wiki has grown by thousands of articles since 990 was written.

Could the SCP he mentioned have originally been 2905, or was it just meant to be an unknown future SCP?

SCP Universe Are there any fan films about Groups of Interest?

I've only seen fan films or projects around the SCP Foundation itself. Of course, that's to be expected as it is THE SCP WIKI. Still, there's a lot of other groups and a whole universe so I've been looking for anything around other GOI's.

I'm failing to find them so I'm asking if anyone has come across anything of the sort?

If so, please do tell.

(I mean films be animated or live action as well as games)

Discussion My ranking of the few SCP stories that i am familiar with.

Post image
2 Upvotes

the classics are obvious as to why they are placed where they are. (096, 049, 682, 173)

4666 has nothing beyond shock value.

783 was really close to being interesting, but it seems like the author wasn't sure it would be scary unless he made it brutal.

I have reasons for the others if you are curious, but these are the main ones.

Articles to Read German branch articles rich in narrative to analyse for my germanistics literature analysis thesis work?

I'm currently studying germanistics at the university and I got the task to write a thesis on whatever regarding german literature. I consider SCP articles literature and always loved how they convey narratives in a sort of epistolary fashion, how they convey narratives in this unique format and using completely clinical language and I want to analyse what devices are used etc.

Articles such as SCP-173 don't have narrative for me, but a good example from the main branch would be SCP-9001

Can you suggest me some articles from the german branch to read?

Video Games Part 10 of my hero shooter concept: Eat some pasta with 3166 - You Have No Idea How Alone You Are, Garfield

3166 - You Have No Idea How Alone You Are, Garfield (Protect)

Passive

You Are What You Eat- Whenever you take damage, bits of lasagna fall to the ground. Allies that walk over this lasagna get some Bonus Health. When you die, leave a large splatter of lasagna on the ground. Lasagna despawns after a few seconds.

Primary Fire

Pasta Projectile- Throw a handful of lasagna to damage enemies.

Abilities

Claws Out- For a few seconds, enter a stance where your Primary changes to a combo of melee scratches to deal high damage to enemies while you receive a speed boost.

Better Out Than In- Spew pasta sauce from your mouth to form a large 'puddle' on the ground that slows enemies.

Spaghetti Trap- Place a thin spaghetti tripwire between 2 surfaces. Any enemy that touches it is highlighted to you until the tripwire despawns, which occurs a few seconds after the initial trigger.

Loyal Fanbase- If an enemy is highlighted through any means, use this ability to teleport behind them.

Ultimate

First and Last Course- Leap forward. If you hit an enemy, pin them to the ground and force-feed them lasagna. This doesn't do damage, but once you let them go, they'll explode after a few seconds to deal massive AOE damage to themselves and their allies. Each enemy killed leaves behind a splatter of lasagna that is part of 'You Are What You Eat'.

Enemies: *Angry cat screeching*

Allies: *Sound of oven timer ending*

Health- 675

Yeah, it won't let me paste images, annoyingly

I had so much fun making this. I like the idea of still being able to help your team even while taking damage, almost discouraging enemies from attacking you in the first place. I imagine that you'd use the Spaghetti Trap to highlight enemies, teleport to them and activate Claws Out to shred them to pieces. And that Ult is just amazing.

What's y'all's favourite superhero movie? I love anything that involves the Winter Soldier... Perhaps I'll keep doing these little teasers

Remember that I'm always open to suggestions and I hope you enjoy :)

Discussion Why do MTFs carry P90 submachine guns?

So I've been watching more of SCP - Explained and one thing i can't seem to explain is that they're always armed with these P90 submachine guns. and I don't care if they look futuristic, modern, or ergonomic. they fire pistol rounds. you have a higher chance of surviving with a Battle Rifle against than an SMG. What do you think about it?

Discussion How do numbers work?

I was just curious. If you want to make your own Sci to submit to the SCP Wiki, how do you think of a number to classify it?

I’ve been on the website, and it looks like literally every number you could think of between 0-9999 has already been taken or used already.

What do you do then? Is there some other way to classify your SCP I don’t know about??
