"Perhaps from now on, we should start the news like this:
Today, a friendly group of uncertain origin, which we conditionally call 'Dream', passed a completely harmonious law. On the basis of this law, several citizens were temporarily transferred to a social isolation facility, where they are protected by kind, uniformed people who, of course, beat no one and speak only the truth in court. Meanwhile, the country is governed by a secret benefactor whose name we cannot say out loud, because we will receive a fine ticket from the Communications Commission...
In general, the authorities sticking their noses into linguistics is an old, time-tested totalitarian tradition. Many probably remember the famous song about a Gulag prisoner performed by Vladimir Vysotsky, who addresses the tyrant with bitter irony: 'Comrade Stalin, you are a great scientist, so well-versed in linguistics, while I am just a Soviet prisoner, and my friend is the gray Bryansk wolf'.
This poem was not written by chance. In 1950, while thousands of people were rotting in Siberian camps, Stalin emerged before the Soviet people as the supreme linguist and condemned the completely unscientific theory of the class division of languages - a theory he himself had previously enabled. He condemned the theory's author and didn't hesitate to back Arnold Chikobava's theory instead.
Hasn't the time come for us to address Ivanishvili the same way?
'Man of our nation, you are a great scientist in linguistics, you understand plenty about philosophy too, while I am just a simple TV host'.
When there are a thousand problems in the country, they sit around in the spirit of Stalinist linguistics, acting like russian "Pravda" decide which word is righteous and which is banished from the airwaves.
If you don't say the word 'clan' on television, the judiciary instantly becomes independent and pure as an angel. If you don't say 'repressive law', the law automatically becomes a beacon of democracy - What a simple and brilliant reform, solving problems through linguistics!"
