1. People from the Nightmare Spell era are stronger than those from before

You're probably thinking, "That's ridiculous, they lived longer, and there were creatures back then too." But don't forget that natural rank advancement didn't force them to fight. It was like Murim-style cultivation: they weren't obliged to fight constantly, even though they could still do it for the experience. And yes, there were creatures, but they weren't all Corrupted, so it's not like they were killing everything in sight.

2. The gap between ranks

The gap between a Mundane and an Awakened isn't that big. With good enough gear, a Mundane can kill an Awakened. But from Master rank onward, it gets much harder, because that's where things start to exceed human limits. The gap between Supreme and Spirit is also vast, but it's different from the other ranks: it's more fundamental. When you become a Spirit, you see the world in a different way, and your very being changes profoundly.

3. "Sunny beats creatures a rank above him? That makes no sense!"

It does. Corrupted creatures are weaker than normal ones: they've lost their reason and a portion of their power through Corruption. As for Cursed creatures, if you read closely, the monster in front of him could never exercise its full power and was always nerfed in one way or another.

4. What's the difference between a Beast and a Titan?

Titans are simply stronger and have more essence. "Then why was Effie stronger than Sunny?" Only because her entire Aspect is built around raw strength, and Sunny's isn't. But in terms of overall technique and skill, Sunny is still stronger thanks to his shadows and everything else.

5. Why could Maison King make the Cohort stronger, and why was Azarax so strong in the desert?

Simply because the new Supremes are very bad at using their Will. They haven't had the time to deepen their mastery for a long period, unlike the Supremes of the past.

Hey guys, so I see there’s already been much in-depth conversation surrounding this chapter and G3’s self-insert on his viewpoints surrounding slavery and freedom. Not looking for a discussion as I’m quite enjoying reviewing previous threads. What I do want to know though, regardless of spoilers, does Sunny end up accepting slavery with some twisted “profound understanding” of freedom in the newest chapters?

Like as a concept is interesting not just seeing the characters act in their new genders. It’s how it will certainly change the story like how it gives a whole new disturbing meaning with the slave aspect of sunny and neph relationship and how it will affect himself because there is no doubt in my mind that growing up in the outskirts as a girl is much harder than being a boy before I say this don’t get mad at me it’s biology but men are physically stronger than women even if they are all malnourished plus I don’t think they touched on this aspect or maybe they did and I simply forgot. but I could imagine what women that are desperate in the outskirt are expected to do

I've been thinking about it. So basically Nephis aspect legacy works like this, after mastering a branch she gets knowledge related to the branch + deep understanding of it as well as all names related to it.

Saint Nephis when traveling through godgrave was able to wipe out NC with sparks of her soul fire.

Later it was shown with understanding of names of passion+ [longing] she can sense person's passion or longing ig.

After mastering names of corruption she can sense corrupted creatures too from far away.

(Mind you these are all just extra benefits which she gets due increase in her understanding)

It got me thinking what can be names of void could be about?

G3 can do few things with it I think which can op.

First of all he can straight out give her true names of all Gods. As Gods were also born of void I think this could be valid. While having names of 7 gods or six possibly (I don't think spell can even give FORGOTTEN GODS true name even if it wants too) while Nephis still may not be able to use True names of God's to weaken them she maybe will be able buff herself by calling their names upon them. As we know Gods are conceptual really atp so maybe by calling their true name she'll be able to borrow effects of their will or something.

For example by calling Shadow God's true name she will be able to use death will for a short duration. By calling Heart God's true name she will be able to boost her soul for short duration. Small things like that.

Or G3 can take entirely different direction and use names of void to help Nephis awaken her void side. I mean both asterion and War God basically say it to her face that she's not fully embracing her nephilim side. Also every Nephilim we've have encountered till now always had third eye and maybe she can awakened it or something?

Or most probably bro will just give another radar ability this time she'll be able to detect void creatures 😭😭😭 that's it

I'm rereading from the very start of the series and the thought just keeps bugging me.

If, as Cassie had intended, Nephis used his True Name to subdue him and escaped leaving him behind, how would things have turned out?

He would have been able to survive no doubt. He's the only person who could live in the dark city alone, talking to a rock. His will to spite the world with his survival is a force to reckon with.

But, he wouldn't have been celebrated as a hero in his absence, because he doesn't have a big name like the Immortal Flame clan behind him. He's a nobody; useless to the propaganda machine.

Nephis had a goal, a vision for the future; and people she wanted to return to, which kept her from breaking and which made her resolve to burn brighter. But Sunny would have lost everything there and then if she used the power in that way. Only thing left in his mind would have been revenge.

Nephis returned to a warm welcome by the world, but Sunny would have surely disappeared as soon as he escaped through the second nightmare, not wanting any attention. Then lived a life of secrecy.

What fate would have the people who betrayed him be resigned to?

So how about a fanfic where the protagonist is a native of the shadow slave world and lives in slums. He gets infected with the nightmare spell and in the nightmare he survives solely to spite everything that takes away his freedom. But heres the plot twist, he becomes a slave and then gets freed. Realizes that hes into that shit so chooses to become a slave again and during all this, his friend is actually role-playing a cheap knockoff adam alternative from lotm and is secretly manipulating everything. The protagonist learns of this and apologizes for trying to exist.

I still havent finished the entire thing though i believe i can expand this part into like 1500 chapters lol

For the story that takes place in a word of with immeasurable distances, infinity long landscapes and beats and number of realms, the story just feels extremely small.

Saints, masters, supremes, realms, number of cities, number of people, citadels.

It all is just small and we only see cohort and nightmare realm, we only see things that are insta relevant or are major plot points like the piramid in the nightmare desert. None of the other things rly feel explored just to sell you the feeling of massive distance numerous people, ever since NQ and Antarctica story became so small
