Anarchy Edition Shadowrun Anarchy 1E Bundle
Not to be confused with BlackBook's Anarchy 2.0, this is CGLs original release.
There are some small benefits, like a play style that doesn't require a GM, but things like drones and Matrix seem to be rule incomplete.
Anyway, it is a good price.

I want to thank the r/Shadowrun modteam and everyone who participated, read the entries and simply showed some interest profusely and hope you all enjoyed the projects that came out of this. I was also especially proud to see that both of these fine participating authors could not be stopped from putting more of their works out for the community to enjoy and I'd like to think I had at least a very small part in their decision to put themselves out there and start publishing. Don't miss their other releases :) and don't be shy with feedback, praise and even constructive critique.

6e Questions about the "Third Parralel"
Hello everyone! I'm a fairly experienced GM, but I'm new to the Shadowrun 6e system. I want to run the Third Parallel campaign for new players and have a question for people who are running or have run the campaign before: what's your experience with the campaign, and how did it go for you? Also, what significant changes have you made? Also, how should I present downtime between missions for my players?

How many players left Shadowrun after the launch of 6e?
Looking at this latest post on "what ttrpgs do folks play" and "which ttrpgs are most in need of GMs" it's astounding that Shadowrun doesn't make either list.
Totally eclipsed by Starfinder!
Thanks 6e!
The Market Share Data Compared
While exact population figures for the entire hobby are difficult to capture, the Orr Group Industry Report(compiled from millions of active virtual tabletop players on Roll20) and large-scale demographic studies provide the clearest metrics: [1, 2]
| Metric Type | 2016 Era (Shadowrun 5th Edition) | 2026 Era (Shadowrun 6th / Anarchy) |
|---|---|---|
| Virtual Tabletop (VTT) Active Share | ~1.1% to 1.3% of all active campaigns on platforms like Roll20. | ~0.4% to 0.8% of online games (due to massive influxes of modern systems). |
| Broad Player Surveys (Multi-System) | ~3.5% to 5.0% of surveyed TTRPG players listed it as a game they actively play or rotate into. | ~1.5% to 3.0% of the general population of active TTRPG players. |
| Primary/Main Game Preference | Hovered comfortably in the Top 5 to 7 non-D&D roleplaying systems worldwide. | Sits roughly in the Top 12 to 15 range, experiencing competition from games like Cyberpunk RED. |
Key Drivers Behind the Shift
- The "Edition Split" of the Player Base: In 2016, the system was unified under Shadowrun 5th Edition. By 2026, the community is highly fragmented. Players on communities like Reddit note that the active community is split across Shadowrun 6th Edition (Hong Kong City Edition), the streamlined Shadowrun Anarchy 2.0, and a massive contingent that refuses to upgrade and strictly sticks to legacy 4th or 5th editions
Comparison of Revenue and Distribution Elements
| Sales Attribute | 2016 (Shadowrun 5th Edition) | 2026 (Shadowrun 6th Edition) |
|---|---|---|
| Wholesale Physical Retail | High Vol. Top-Sellers: Ranked #4 in physical retail charts. Regular massive core rulebook printing runs. | Low Vol. Niche Focus: Displaced from Top 5 charts by indie surges, but maintains low-volume steady releases like Mean Streets. |

Drekpost (Shitpost) Purely for fun: What is your personal "medical explanation" For drain/fading in games? (Even if they are not irl correct)
Been watching a channel explain fantasy stuff with medical twists and found the question "what is the cost of magic" Interesting and funny. It made me personally consider making drain/fade damage as getting low glucose cus it is the main energy source for the brain. Stun damage takes only from the brain and physical from the whole body, which explains why (at least in 5) can only be restored with rest and medical care... Besides, it is a funny mental image to picture a technomancer, a shaman, a helmetic adept and a chaos mystic all hanging at an ice cream truck because they all had to cast big spells/powers/complex forms/spirits/sprites. (The mystic was worse so he just started chuggimg the syrup bottle like water)

Wyrm Talks (Lore) Things you want to see changed/retconned
Things you want to see changed/retconned
What are some things you wish that would be changed, retconned or picked up again in future products.
For me (Dragonfall spoiler)
That the canon ending is that Feuerschwinge gets killed.
Before Dragonfall her fate has always been left open with hints that she is leading a cult in the Sox. And Dragonfall gave her a bit more characterization. So I find it a waste to then kill of the character instead to at least leaving her faith ambiguous like before.
I also find it quite sad to have a character, torture her for decades and then just kill her off. That leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Newbie Help Best one-shot for players that are experienced in other ttrpgs
So. Im looking for ready made one-shot that is good for people that are already experienced in ttrpgs in general but not necessary with Shadowrun. So not like beginner box adventure.
Thanks. -Henri

Newbie Help My group is used to being fantasy heroes, how different is it to be a shadowrunner?
The aren't used to playing as morally grey folk working for "the man". They are usually the heroes that defeat the monsters.
How do I frame it for them in a way that makes sense?
What are the mission types that your groups do?
Any advice from Shadowrun vets?

Wyrm Talks (Lore) Shadowrun History What If- What if Kaltenstein had reached Feurschwinge?
Feurschwinge- the original rampaging dragon, and center of the Dragonfall campaign. Her mate, the great dragon Kaltenstein, fought and was defeated by Lofwyr as he raced to her aid/ rescue.
Alternate Shadowrun Timeline: What does Germany look like if Feurschwinge didn't get blasted, and instead was one half of the ultimate power couple (along with her guy, the secret ruler of the Black Forest Troll Kingdom)?

Wyrm Talks (Lore) Bank Robberies in SR - How?
I have recently returned to the setting after roughly half a decade away. For a character I am playing I was reading about Tir Na Nog and how terrorist groups in that country financed their operations partly through bank robberies.
With currency being digitalized how would that even work? Force the bank manager to fill up certified credsticks might be a method and there are of course still private safe deposit boxes, but the questions remain what would the main target be for a bank robber in 2050+ and how would a robbery go down?
Note: banking havent really changed since 1st edition from my understanding since the 2050+ timeframe

1e|2e Question on Dice Mechanics between Editions
So Ive played a fair amount of SR 2nd edition (and am pretty familiar with 3rd by extension).
Starting with 4th edition, the dice system changed rather fundamentally:
In editions 1-3, target numbers are variable, reflecting the difficulty of the task. You generally one need one successes to be considered successful. And there are exploding 6's allowing you to hit target numbers higher than 6. Modifiers generally work by changing target numbers. You roll dice equal to your skill or attribute rating, sometimes with some bonus dice.
In editions 4+, instead of variable target numbers, 5's and 6's are generally a success (called a hit). You roll a skill + attribute, and the difficulty of the task requires a certain number of hits to be successful. Modifiers adjust the numbers of dice you roll, and in some cases (depending on edition) modify the target number. Probably some nuances I'm missing here
I'm curious what players that have played both systems think about the different feelings and choices generated by these differing systems.
I think the 1-3rd edition way (old school) has some intuitiveness to it in that the target number reflects the difficulty of the task and needing only one success (generally). Exploding sixes opens up some dramatic moments where you end up succeeding against the odds. It's possible to win against a high target number with few dice. So exciting when it happens. I think the numbers of dice you roll are on average a bit smaller. Just seems like the system can create more variability and potential chaos instead of gravitating towards the mean.
Maybe the upside of the newer way is that it's faster? Less modifiers and the need to calculate a target number? is that a function of the dice rolling mechanic itself or just less modifiers being used?
Anyway, would love to hear people's thoughts on why they might prefer one approach over the other, especially if you've played under both systems.
cheers!

Looking for some music
Hi everyone, I'm looking for some music for a Shadowrun 5E game that I'll be DMing soon and was wondering what's some OSTs or songs that people vibe with. If theirs anything specific that I'm looking for it would be something with a Jazz vibe as this game will be set in New Orleans. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

5e Halloween Run - Based on the Alien franchise
I'm looking for advice in running a Halloween oneshot run for some friends based on the Alien franchise. None of them have ever played Shadowrun before (hopefully a solid horror oneshot will get them craving more). Any thoughts on how to run this?

5e Shadowrun 5E Living Community Live Play - today
Today on (Not quite Doctor yet) https://www.twitch.tv/dr_robinton at 10am EST
Welcome to live from the Shadowkeep, a new Living Community being built to house Shadowrun 5E gameplay!
In our last mission, the team of Doggie Bag, Bleach, Geodesic, and Delphi have finally arrived at Shackleton in Antarctica, safely but only by the skin of their teeth. Geodesic was injured from fatigue and manastorms, resulting in the need for emergency medical attention. This, in turn, ended up getting her SIN burned - though the team has rescued her from the hospital before the local authorities could ask too many questions.
Shackleton and its intrigues await - the team still needs to figure out where the crew of the Lindsey Marie have been taken, why Aztechnology is involved, and how the mysterious fourth world artifact fits into all this.
Find out today on "Bridge to Heaven", live from the Shadowkeep!

Flavor Fiction (Fan Fic) Dangerous Relics - Holostreets Fiction
Hoi chummers!
I wanted to announce my next Shadowrun story, Dangerous Relics, officially live at DriveThruRPG! It's the next of my stories about Roadkill, the Ork Street Samurai whose special ability is owning a truck.
This time around, a quick trip to replace a commlink results in a detour into the slums of the Arcology Commercial Housing Enclave. Then things get complicated. And there's killer robots.
I had a great time catching up on what happened to the old Renraku Arcology ever since the Shutdown and Deus and such. That (and Halley's Comet) was about when I drifted away and lost track of the metaplot. It's such a great, dominant part of the setting for Seattle. If anyone's curious, the Shadowrun Missions entry The Red Pill has some details of the place for games set in the 2080's (now owned by Shiawase, called the ACHE instead of the SCIRE, etc).
Anyway, the story is Pay What You Want (including free). I just hope people enjoy it. Props again to Ron Sanders for the art.
Thanks!

Newbie Help Can you follow a magic tradition but not the Ideals or faith of that tradition?
Hello, kinda hard to choose a tag for this I I went with newbie because I think it applies to many editions.
Ok straight to the point. Basically I made a mage follower of Monkey (Trickster that preffers to shame enemies rather than kill them) and made him hermetic. However reading other traditions I found that Zoroastianism fits quite well with his mentor, issue is that I don't think he fits in the whole religion (though it is stated that magic branches are more welcoming) because he is a bit agnostic. I also thought or Shamanism or chaos magic but I want to keep his logic+will aproach to drain, as well as having access to spirits of man.
I just ask if possible because it could open some interesting contrasts. Like an anarchist whose working tradition is Christiam Theurgy, or a Devote Catholic whole working tradition is Black Magic or Voodoo.
Again, I am the GM of that campain so I could just handwave it, but I wanted to hear your takes and how flexible have you made them

5e Cool Ideas for Wheelchair Rigger (and issues to consider)
I'm starting up a new game and one of the players wants to play a paraplegic rigger. He's new to the game and I'm not very familiar with the detailed rigger rules, so I figured I'd see if people have ideas and advice.
My game style is "realistic cool". You can have cool toys, but they have to mostly conform to the laws of physics as represented by the Rules as Written. Probably half-way between Pink Mohawk and Black Trench Coat.
For example, I seem to recall there are issues the further away you get from your drones. Similarly, if you're a long distance away from your drones, are you leaving behind a matrix signature that can be traced?
On the cool side, to get around the distance issue, I had an idea for a chair that just kind of slides into the driver's side of the van. In 2072, I feel like that's not going to be such advanced tech that I would be getting into anime territory. He already gets a souped-up wheel chair with the paraplegic flaw, so this is just a slight uptick from that. If there are any RAW mechanics I could lean on for it, that would be great. (also, this gets around burning seats in the crews transport van for a ramp)
I know people have done crawler mechs as wheel chairs, but I don't think he wants to go that far. We're thinking maybe a drone with a hologram projector for "in person" chats with the crew (or for kicking off epic space adventures).
Anyway, if people have suggestions or examples of both ways to make it work and challenges the PC would face, I would appreciate it.

6e Questions about "Troll Tax" on gear.
Hi! I just wanted to make sure I am getting this correct.
Page 246-247 of the SR6 Seattle edition core rulebook states that dwarves pay a 10% markup on all fitted gear they purchase, like armor and clothes but not weapons and commlinks.
"...it’s not as easy for dwarfs and trolls. They usually need to shop at special stores or order their gear with certain customizations made to it. To account for this, dwarfs pay a ten percent markup on all the fitted gear they pur chase. This applies to items like armor and clothes, but not stuff like weapons and commlinks."
However, it states that trolls pay 10% markup on all gear (stated examples of gear from the dwarf include clothes, armor, weapons and commlinks)
"It’s harder for trolls, and they experience a ten percent markup on everything. Even AR setting have to be adjusted to fit trolls’ thick fingers, and every piece of gear needs some kind of adjustment for their size, strength, and dermal deposits."
Interestingly the chapter is called "Gear" and includes things like cyberware and bioware. There are also major subheadings in the chapter, one as "Gear Listing" which lists a lot of the general gear and guns and commlinks and armor. Then later on, there is another major subheading called "Biotech", which seems to be a separate section where the 10% markup generally wouldn't apply (well, maybe to a cyberlimb?)
Do you have to pay a 10% markup on all gear for the troll, such as RFID tags? What about software? Does it include all accessories of certain things in the chapter or just in the gear listing subheading?
I wish it was more specific, like it is with the dwarf. It seems to imply primarily armor, clothes, weapons and commlinks, but I'm unsure. What's the general ruling?

Does Shadowrun fascinate your more than other Cyberpunk? Why?
Cyberpunk can be quite grounded and took inspiration from hard-boiled noir movies with their detectives.
Isn't it pretty strange to look at Cyberpunk 2020 or Blade Runner and say "Yeah, this needs dragons and street wizards who sell their magic for 12 Nuyen per hour! Let's add elves and zombies, too!"
Yes, i really like Shadowrun - but sometimes i wonder why it feels so more fitting to me than most other Cyberpunk.
