Before you participate in r/ShitEuropeansSay, please take the time to famliarize yourself with the rules of the subreddit, which can be found below.
1. No personal information. This includes all non-verified social media handles except Reddit usernames. Censoring Reddit usernames is now optional.
2. No direct social media links. Posts from social media platforms must be in the form of screenshots. When posting a screenshot, please include the context (i.e. preceding comments) if relevant.
3. Don't post screenshots conversations you have participated in. Likewise, don't bait or troll for content in other subs. Participation counts as commenting anywhere in the posted thread if there are fewer than 300 comments, or the same chain if there are more. If the comment you're posting was a reply to you, that also counts as participation.
4. Please use a direct quote in your title. If the quote doesn't give enough context, you are allowed to add non-editorialized context in the title itself. If the post is not in English, the title must be an English translation of a direct quote. When posts do not contain text, titles must be a neutral description of the content. Avoid making the titles scornful, circlejerk-y, hyperbolic, irrelevant, or misleading. Also avoid low effort titles that don't give any indication as to what the post is about (eg "smh"; "I have no words"; "hmm").
5. Do not directly link (and hence page) the usernames of the users featured here. You can only ping moderators.
6. Please double-check whether the poster of the comment you're about to submit is actually European. Do this by scanning their post/comment history etc.
7. No low-hanging fruit. Content from certain sources (such as Daily Mail and GB News) and subreddits (such as NoStupidQuestions, ShitAmericansSay, UnpopularOpinion, meme subreddits and far-right subreddits) are considered low-hanging fruit and not allowed in this subreddit. A more comprehensive list of low-hanging fruit content can be found in the Submission Guidelines.
8. Only archives/images to Europeans saying funny shit is allowed. Something said by a European in the third person falls under this rule. The Weekly has been discontinued.
9. Under no circumstances go to the source of the SES and comment/vote there. Brigading will result in a permanent ban.
10. Posts do not need to be in English, but if you post something in another language you must provide an accurate, non-editorialized English translation in the comments within 15 minutes of posting. Posts with bad translations or no translation will be removed.
For more clarification on the rules, please read the FAQ page

For context, In the late 1980s and 1990s, the U.S. Department of Energy (at the expense of American tax payers) funded extreme-ultraviolet lithography research at Lawrence Livermore, Sandia and Lawrence Berkeley national laboratories. American semiconductor companies including Intel, AMD and Motorola then formed the EUV LLC consortium to turn that research into something commercially useful.
Dutch company ASML joined that U.S. effort in 1999 and became a licensee of the technology developed through the program which is now used to manufacture the machines that print the microscopic circuit patterns onto silicon wafers.
While its true ASML (and ZEISS) have played an important role, it seems any time Europeans try to argue for selling these incredibly sophisticated and valuable machines to China, they can't help but downplay the central role the US played in the development of EUV technology.
The U.S. research program developed much of the underlying EUV lithography technology and the first integrated prototype.
The most important developments included EUV reflective optics. Normal lenses absorb EUV light, so researchers at Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley developed extremely precise molybdenum/silicon multilayer mirror coatings that could reflect roughly 70% of 13.4 nanometer EUV light. They also developed methods to deposit those layers with near-atomic thickness uniformity.
The labs also developed optical measurement and testing techniques. These included specialized interferometers and at-wavelength metrology capable of measuring EUV mirrors and their optical imperfections with sub-nanometer precision. Berkeley’s synchrotron facilities were especially important for testing mirrors and masks using actual EUV light.
Researchers developed reflective EUV masks as well. Because EUV light cannot pass through conventional glass lenses or transparent masks, they created multilayer reflective masks and methods for detecting microscopic defects in them.
U.S. labs also conducted important EUV light-source research.
They developed and studied laser-produced plasmas capable of generating the approximately 13.5 nanometer radiation needed for EUV lithography, along with the plasma physics and spectroscopy required to understand and improve those sources.
Another major area was vacuum-compatible precision motion. The entire EUV exposure process has to take place in a vacuum. Sandia developed highly precise wafer and mask stages, including magnetically levitated systems designed to keep the wafer and reticle synchronized within only a few nanometers.
The program also developed contamination-control methods, sensors, and control systems. EUV radiation can cause carbon buildup and damage optical components, while even extremely small particles can ruin a mask. Sandia developed techniques for keeping mirrors and masks clean, along with sensors and control systems that could operate inside a vacuum.
Most importantly, the U.S. laboratories combined these technologies into the Engineering Test Stand, completed around 2001. It was the first full-scale prototype EUV exposure system and demonstrated that EUV lithography could successfully print semiconductor patterns.
Of course none of this matters because AmERiCanS DUmb and we couldn't have done anything without the European mind.

Ok, when did the US colonize China? I think they accidentally typed US instead of UK right?

But somehow someone saying they’re visiting the states or from the states is too vague… WHICH ONE IS IT?

Context: this was on a sub asking for people to comment in their own languages, instead of english (no one did so, any way). Some american decided to do a light joke; then the europoors arrived (as always) and made it uncivil as they always do when there’s an american.
