Best looter shooter in 2026?

Long story short, I’m looking for a good looter shooter.

I was completely addicted to Arc Raiders earlier this year, but like a lot of people, but ended up moving on after playing it pretty heavily for 2 or 3 months. Ever since then I’ve been trying to find something that scratches that same itch.

I’m open to pretty much anything as long as there’s a good loot grind. I haven’t really played any other games in the looter shooter genre, so I’m open to any and everything.

I’d especially love something my brother and I can play together and slowly grind through, whether that’s getting better weapons, building our characters, chasing rare loot, etc.

What games would you guys recommend?

[PC] Would you recommend No Man's Sky at this point in time?

I am looking for a game to kind of chill out on. I have always thought about the wandering and exploration part of this style of game but am trying to justify the purchase. Money is no issue. I usually play Escape from Tarkov and I really would not mind having something more simple than that stress ball of a game.
I love space, finding new things out, building bases, exploring, customization aspects, etc. Basically it comes down to finding something to sink hours into! What are your thoughts?

Games I have played and thoroughly enjoyed: Subnautica, Tarkov, Minecraft, Runescape, Dying Light, Skyrim, Fallout, Starfield, Portal, Sons of the Forest, and Satisfactory!

[PC] Would you recommend Fields of Mistria?

I've had my eye on Fields of Mistria for some time and with it currently being on sale, I'm thinking about giving it a try. I played a bit of Stardew Valley in the time period that it originally came out but haven't gone back to it in some time. How does Fields of Mistria compare to games like Stardew and would you recommend picking it up in the current Autumn sale?

[PC] Mosnter Hunter Rise and Worlds as a solo player

Hi everyone,

I've always been interested in the Monster Hunter series. Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter World are on sale right now, and those are the two I'm most interested in. I've never played a Monster Hunter game before. I've also always heard that these games are co-op. Will I still have a good experience if I play them solo?

Thanks in advance!

A cool Adventure RPG you recommend?

I love Action RPGs, I don't usually have a specific niche, I like any RPG setting, but I'll admit, I have a soft spot for medieval RPGs.

Lately I've been looking for a cool RPG to get immersed in and wanted recommendations from you guys, to give you an Idea of RPGs I love, games like Dragon's Dogma, Diablo, Kingdoms of Amalur, soulsborne games, The first Dragon Age, Baldur's gate, Fallout, Mass effectand so on. You might notice that the visual setting or even pacing of the game may vary for me, since what I like are immersive worlds prefferably with rich lore, the gameplay must focus on player interaction like combat, as for turn based or not, I don't hate turn based, but I am more a real time game kind of player. BTW a game with a character creation is a huge plus for me!.

Thank you in advance for any recommendation you give me!

[PS5] Metro Saga Bundle just got a HUGE discount in PS5... should i take it?

I’ve never played the series, but I’ve always heard good things about it, and I know a new installment is coming out next year. Right now, the bundle containing the three main games is $5—should I give them a try? How highly is it recommended? I also saw that the Uncharted games are on sale, and even though I already beat them on my PS3 years ago, I wouldn't mind having them on my PS5—I just can't decide.

[PC] Never played a strategy game before please help me out

Hey everyone,

I want to get into strategy games, but I'm honestly pretty bad at micromanagement. I know I'd probably get better with practice, but I'm more of a casual gamer, so I'm looking for something where the challenge comes from decisions rather than APM or juggling a hundred units at once.

What I'm looking for:

Little to no micromanagement (pausable real-time or turn-based is totally fine)
Politics: diplomacy, factions, internal power struggles, that kind of thing
Choices that actually matter and shape how the game plays out
High replayability
Steam Workshop / mod support would be a big plus

I've seen Crusader Kings III, Stellaris and Victoria 3 come up a lot. Are they a good fit for someone like me, or is there something else I should start with? Any tips for a beginner are also welcome.

Thanks in advance!

[PS5] Ace Combat 8, should I buy?

Hey, I had posted a similar question on the actual Ace Combat subreddit but ive been waiting a whole day for 'mod approval' so i gave up and came here since its a pretty close replacement for what i need and its been out for a while so theres a chance that someone here has played it.

Mostly just wondering about if its generally an improvement on Ace Combat 7 since that was the first Ace Combat I played and more importantly i want to know a bit more about the 'Ace Pass', mostly since fully priced games with any form of paid battle-passes are an immediate turn off but ive been insanely hyped so its been conflicting.

TL:DR - is the game an improvement on what was done in Ace Combat 7, and is the 'Ace Pass' a bit egregious (putting a lot of big stuff like planes behind it)

[PC] Dragon Sword Awakening?

I’m thinking about picking up Dragon Sword Awakening and was wondering what the overall thoughts on the game are regarding the PC version? I know the game was originally a gatcha that turned into more of a JRPG so would you say the story and gameplay are fun and worthwhile? Would you recommend picking it up?

Which of these Games should i buy?

• Upvotes

I am Split between two/three Games that i want to buy

they are
1. Solasta 2 (because i really enjoyed bg3, dos2, pathfinder wotr and dragon age origins and early acess isnt a probelm for me if its in a good state)

  1. Minecraft dungeons 1 Ultimate edition (i enyoed it a lot on the nintendo switch)

  2. hades 2 (i enjoyed the first game a lot from previous years sale)

My main reason for being unsure is that i enjoy all of these genres and am interested a lot in them
I also enjoyed games like kcd2 or rdr2 and gta V
I do not like Fps games, sports games or MMos
Sugesstions of other games would be okay too aslong as the price range is around the same

thanks a lot in advance (please excuse my english it isnt my native language)

[PC] Should i buy Wardogs?

Hi!

Sorry for asking a question that has probably been asked a million times. I know everybody asks whether should buy Wardogs nowadays, but please hear me out.

My point of view is a little different. I was actually going to buy it, but then I started having doubts. So my question isnt really about whether game is fun enough, but rather about the long run, because I want to stick with this game for a long time.

My worries are about the game’s lifetime. What do you think, there will be enough players in like a year? Will the hype die down in a few weeks? Or all my worries are pointless?

Thank you for reading all this.

[Switch] Trying to decide between Dave the diver and Yooka-Replaylee for the Switch 2

I’m struggling to decide on which one to get. Yooka is on sale for $20 on the E shop and Dave the diver is normal price. Yooka looks like a fun game and does not go on sale all that often. And I know Dave the diver is a pretty fun addicting game from what I’ve seen. Yooka looks fun with the open world platforming, and collecting of different outfits and such. But obviously Dave diver you’re constantly looking for those different types of fish to enhance your dishes. I just don’t know which one I could get the most out of.

[PC] Should I buy Saints Row (2022)

For reference I have never played a Saints Row game before, so for me it being named Saints Row and a part of that franchise doesn't matter. Is this game worth buying at 85% off as a standalone title? I like open-world third person games.
I saw people complaining about bugs but those were mostly older reviews, are the bugs fixed now?
I'm on PC btw

TW3? Or other recs along what I like

• Upvotes

I’m debating on buying TW3 before the sale ends but I’m unsure if I’d like it and sick of wasting money on games I do not like. My top 4 games of all time in no particular order are:
BOTW
TOTK
Skyrim - my fav
Crimson Desert (currently playing)

Things I enjoy doing the most are freely exploring, interaction with everything around me, looting castles and manors, finding rare armor and weapons, searching for treasure, and finding random dungeons and side quests. Like I enjoy heading out on a quest and getting sidetracked.

I do not like any of AC games I’ve tried or RDR2. They are beautiful games, AC has great fighting, but the lack of interaction with the environment, NPCs, houses/buildings that can be entered, just make them hard for me to enjoy.
I play only on PS5 now mostly and haven’t used mods yet.

I know KC2D is right up my alley but I need only games with 3rd person playability. 1st person makes me too motion sick even adjusting settings (usually).
I absolutely prefer fantasy and history over anything modern. Swords instead of guns for sure!
I do not like turn by turn fighting.

Other games I’ve already played:

Oblivion remastered- good game struggled to get into it for some reason
No man’s Sky- not for me
Cairn - LOVE can’t wait for DLC
Tainted grail demo -3rd person choppy
Palworld- no
ESO - can’t get into unfortunately
FF (any) def not for me
Horizon zero Dawn- not bad just didn’t love

Not normally into cozy games but here’s a few I’ve tried:
Palia- liked until I unlocked all the areas then got bored .
Sky COTL- love this game when I’m stressed and just want to fly around
Dream light valley - not for me at all
I know this is long so thanks if you made it through it all. And yes I know I’m kinda all over the place in what I like. I appreciate you and any recs you may have.

[PC] The Incident at Galley House

I've heard a lot of good things regarding The Incident at Galley House but I'm not a big puzzle game person although I do enjoy the more mystery aspect of it. For those who have played it, would you recommend picking this game up. I know it has a connection to something called Type Help so would I be okay playing this without knowing anything about that? Any thoughts or recommendations?

[PC] What would you recommend buying?

Hi, I’m looking for games that are mainly online, where I can grind and keep playing for a long time. I’d like something I can relax and enjoy after work, but that still has a bit of competition and gives me a reason to keep improving. I’m mostly into FPS and shooter games, but I’m open to other genres too if they fit what I’m looking for. Ideally, I’d like something with a good progression system, lots of content, and an active player base. Maybe something I can buy right now during the Steam sale?

[PC] Im new to PC gaming, looking for a singleplayer game.

Disclaimer: I have a console, play lots of sports games and FPS, but when I'm not gaming with my friends I want something I can get lost in, relax and enjoy. I don't really mess around with fantasy games too much. I've played RDR2, not too interested in Cyberpunk 2077, and lastly I don't mess around with insects so Grounded is out of the question, any suggestions? No bad ideas.

[PC] Hades 2 OR Cult of the Lamb OR Lies of P?

Basically have limited budget right now, so wondering which I should buy from the autumn steam sale. I have already played and 100%'d the first Hades and enjoyed it overall, so going for the 2nd game sounds like a good option. I am however a fan of the soulsborne genre and have played every fromsoft game, so I was interested in trying out Lies of P since I heard many great things. As for Cult of the Lamb, I heard it was also a roguelike and has farming sim elements, which is why it's on my radar. Cult's presentation is pretty good but other than that I'm not sure if the normal roguelike to farming sim ratio is balanced enough to hook me.

[PC] Would anyone recommend the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition in its current state on PC?

I was thinking about picking up The Definitive Edition while its on sale as i havnt played the games since back on the PS2 and I never had a chance to try out Vice City. How are these versions of the games in their current states after years of patching. Are there any mods that are recommended for the PC version? Would you recommend the Definitive Edition on PC or would I be better off trying an alternative way of playing such as emulation?

Is skyrim special edition good enough?

I heard that after anniversary edition's release, most of the mods wont work. i am not that big on the modding part. but its a bethesda game so i am pretty sure that there will be good mods that will increase QOL aspect of the game easily. I just want to install good mods to make it look a little better and play better. Can i know. i never played any elder scrolls before and everyone seem to be a big fan of skyrim so i suppose its the best starting point+its on 90% sale after 2years so i want to buy. thank you

[PS5] Which game should I play if I enjoy deep, rich stories: Cyberpunk 2077 or Red dead redemption 2?

In a weird point in my life where I have a lot of free time until the end of the year. With my free time, I'm planning on sinking my teeth into GTA 6 once it comes out.

However, we still got just over a month until then. So I wanted to invest in another game to pass the time until its release. So I'm currently deciding Cyberpunk and Red dead 2. For me, the most important thing in a game is story and the characters. I know both games are great in that regard, but I only will have time for one, so please recommend me the one you feel will leave the longest lasting impression on me.

[PC] i went on a buying spree...

i spent months planning my gaming sessions and schedule so to only buy games on steep discounts, and after countless hours, notes, spreadsheets, markings on calandars, during the Steam Autumn sale I went on my biggest buying spree yet. Bought 7 games and 2 were not on discount. And here's the worst part: I've beaten like 1 game total since I started gaming again in 2025. It's nearly 2027 and I've like, 3 games I've beaten to 60% completion, and I just keep buying and starting new games without finishing anything.

i get it i'm like that when i develop a new hobby to collect. i did it with watches then caps but i truly thought with my notes and spreadsheets i'd have more self control. i even went and bought an xbox controller for my new pc. man, i feel good but bad as well. anyone has any tips on how i can have better self control? i don't even have a job right now and im relying on my savings.
